With only 20 rooms, Nick's Pension Hotel is economical and the atmosphere is intimate. One of the hotel’s highlights is the four-post, wooden beds and the beautifully carved designs on the doors and walls. It’s also a pastoral hideaway, tucked away in the middle of a rice paddy that is irrigated by a small stream. Nearby is the Monkey Forest Road. Other facilities include a pool and an inexpensive, but tasty, restaurant. Adding convenience to casualness, the charming family who runs the place can provide drivers and tour guides to explore the island. You can tell by the number of repeat visitors that this place is a winner. Please enter your preferred dates of stay and submit our online booking form to make a reservation at Nick's Pension Hotel.

After vlue for money - Gardens, pool, huge room!!!”
The gardens are amazing, esp' at the bottom of the property - shortcut to main st - !!! Room was huge, breakfast was great, pool after a long day was priceless. Internet was a little flaky at times but, when running it was super fast. Bed was a little squeaky. Totally recommend value for money
We Love Ncks!”
We have stayed at Nick's Pension three times. The location, a charming woodland walk away from Monkey Forest road is ideal for us. The accomodations are extremely functional and the people are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is very good too.
The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the room was spacious and very clean. Staff were constantly gracious and helpful. The restaurant was very good and reasonsble. I will return to this lovely place again.
Awesome place and can't wait to come back”
Can't wait to visit Ubud again and stay at Nicks Pension. The breakfast was ok but can not fault anything else (Plenty of restaurants nearby if wanted more or something different). We stayed with our 14 year old daughter and had THE best experience of our holiday. It is a short walk to everything in Ubud nestled in the rainforest overlooking the rice fields. 20 min walk to the monkey forest and 5 min walk to the market and main streets. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! !!!!!!!!!
Enjoyable stay for first in Ubud”
We were very happy with all service. Upgraded room which was nice bonus however all rooms looked nice. Location awesome. Close to everything. Many times to Bali but first time stayed in Ubud and would definitely return to this hotel. If you are in to healthy food would also recommend 15 minute to amazing cafe called Alchemy near Blanco museum. Well worth looking up!:) Thank you Nick's Pension for a fabulous to Ubud.
Perfect location and comfort”
I booked a delux room, which had a large fairly comfortable bed with a mildly hard mattress. The room looked over rice patties, which are pretty, but the best are the the river view rooms, and I was disappointed not to get one. The room had AC and full mosquito netting over the bed. evertyyhing is walkable from this central location, due to the path from the back over the river to Monket forest road. Great place, I would absolutley stay here again. Great value for price. The pool was really nice as well.
Great value for money”
Great 3 night stay in ubud. Nicks pension, although a little confusing for our cab driver is one street over from the main Monkey Forest Road and accessible by a bridge over the river which makes life very easy. Staff are great and super helpful and friendly - I got sick and they even drove me to the local doctor. The pool is a welcome relief after a morning walking and beers refreshingly cold. Tho the rooms could do with a lick of paint, for what you pay, this really isn't a complaint. Would recommend
Great place to stay in a perfect location”
This pension is fantastic. Situated on a quiet road but also so close to Monkey Forest Rd & all the attractions. Just walk along a beautiful path across a bridge & up a cute little lane & you are there. The setting & the gardens are stunning & the breakfasts yummy. Thanks to the staff.
quiet. comfortable and convenience”
the room was spac ious. the surrounding was quiet with trees and flowers and a rice field nearby. staffs werae friendly. there was a back exit to jalan monkey forest which was very convenient to centre.
Gorgeous gardens, attentive staff, great room”
I loved my stay here. I don't know why it doesn't get a higher rating. The hotel is well kept; our room was lovely and cleaned every day; the gardens are just beautiful and so well kept; the pool was great. Really - for the money - this was fantastic value. We booked a room a the lower end of the price range and it was wonderful - why pay more? We are staying at very budget hotels because we are travelling a long time. This hotel was a wonderful treat for us even though we paid a bit more than usual.
It was a nice relaxing time we spent in Ubud and stayed at Nick's Pension. The people in the hotel were really friendly, honest and helpful. I really recommend anyone to stay there. It's located pretty much in the central of Ubud, where you can also enjoy the view of the river and padi fields around the accommodation.
An excellent and relaxing few days .”
Really excellent and very good value for money. I cannot find fault with the accomodation; my only adverse comment relates to the noisy drunken behaviour of some Russian guests in a nearby chalet late at night. I suggest the Hotel should stress the importance of good behaviour by guests.
Amazing place, what a find!”
What can I stay? This is one of the nicest places we've stayed in months of busy travelling. Might not be the cheapest place in Ubud, but it is still low budget and completely exceeded our expectations. The rooms are very private and hidden away, surrounded by beautiful gardens. The restaurant and bar are suburb, you don't need to go far. The staff are great, very friendly and professional. The location is not perfect but is a short walk away from central Ubud. If you want affordable pampering, this is the place!
Room with carved door surrounded with nice view.”
Booked 6 standard rooms (using 2 bookings), 2 of them are upgraded to superior room facing to small river. All rooms have nice carved door with traditional lock (we love it), hot water and air conditioner, no TV (no problem for us). Superior room has water kettle and fridge, which standard room does not (also no problem for us). Hotel staff is very helpful with our luggages, a bit of walk and steps to the rooms. Swimming pool is not big, but nice and clean. Definitely will stay there again.
So peaceful. Wonderful staff!”
What a find! Nestled among the rice fields, yet only a short (but energetic) stroll (because of all the steps!) To shopping, dining and all things cultural. The gardens are beautifully maintained. We stayed in a superior room, which was located close to the river/creek that runs through the property. Although not new by any means, the room was well maintained. The room had a king bed and a king single. Unfortunately the mattresses were only foam, but still on the okay side. There was no TV (when we booked no rooms with a TV were available), but as we knew that it wasn't a problem. The staff are wonderful and go out of their way to help! Breakfast was included in our (what I consider very cheap) room rate. Breakfast was a little meagre, but you could add things like an omelette for only a couple of dollars AUD. J.L. Bisma is a fairly quiet street, with a few good restaurants and a couple of spas. All in all we were very happy at this hotel.
Stayed twice here, excellent rooms both times.. nice atmosphere, lovely rice field views. Although the second room was massive and comfortable, it was by the river and we were plagued by mosquitos which didn't happen in the standard room...
Close to shops, restaurants and old Ubud centre”
Helpful friendly staff always smiling. Clean rooms, nice swimming pool. Shower by standing in bath and holding shower head. Shops, restaurants, market, old town centre, monkey forest within easy walking distance if you use the bottom entrance to the hotel. No TV in our rooms (family complained but ideal for me). Hotel driver very helpful and knowlegeable of the different sites he took us to visit. Hotel is built on a slop leading down to a stream so steps to climb.
Great staff and good service. Room was good.”
We really struggled to find the hotel when we arrived as there are many 'Nick' places (Nick's homestay and Private bungalows). However, once we got there, it was easy to get around and the staff were really helpful. The room was basic, yet comfortable. Would have liked the towels to be changed more and a hair dryer. We booked all our tours from here a day before. No need to book in advance.
Value for money. Clean and Comfy.”
We liked their pancake and toasted bread breakfast. They can improve on their Indonesian food breakfast. The room was more than enough you'd expect of a budget hotel. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, the wooden bed frame though constantly squeeks when you move as you go to sleep.
