This comfortable and high-class resort really stands out in two areas that you are sure to appreciate - great service and great food. The restaurant menu at Okuma Private Beach & Resort and the chef are above average for even the finest of hotels. Breakfast is included as a courtesy, but if you get a chance, do try the seafood and you won't be disappointed. The papaya salad is also a worthy and delectable house specialty, fresh from the grove! Service at Okuma Private Beach & Resort is friendly and warm, just what you want when vacationing. The staff speaks English well, so communication will be a breeze. The perfect place to enjoy Okinawa's world famous perfect temperatures and beautiful marine life is right here at Okuma Private Beach & Resort.

Very nice resort”
This is a big resort located in a very good location. Nice beach and sand and they have a lot of activities to do and enjoy around the beach. Our family love it very much!!! There're a few Japanese restaurants inside the resort, and the taste is good. Breakfast is nice and vareity. The only let down of this resort is the guest room, a bit old and not Japanese standard clean. But overall, we love it and will come back again.
Very Nice Resort with Friendly Staff”
It was like in Hawaii but with more reasonable budget. We enjoyed making shisa, kayaking, short biking, playing on the private beach, snorkeling, dining and sauna. Food tasted reasonably good. (We tried Okame, the main dining hall, and beachside barbecue restaurant. Staff was very nice everywhere.) overall, it was a very nice vacation except 2 of us couldn’t make it to their free shuttle bus and Okuma is 2 hours away from the airport.
Spirits dampened due to the rain when we visited Okuma. However, the stay made up for it! The breakfast at the accommodation was incredible, ranging from international selection to that of local must trys. Even though there were a lot of people queuing, the staff managed to stagger the crowd and made the whole experience really enjoyable.
We really had a wonderful time at Okuma. My grandson who was visiting us here in Okinawa from the US enjoyed the breakfast buffet, pool and the beach at the hotel very much. Thank you very much for the wonderful memories. We sure looking forward to staying there again!
Dog friendly hotel with good beach facilities ”
Relaxing resort, nice beach with good facilities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Some of the rooms are a bit dated, but perfectly clean. Most important of all, it is very dog friendly - plenty of space for our dog to walk around, including the restaurant where we had breakfast (outdoor area) and the beach. We had a wonderful time there.
Nice and clean beach, Huge spread for Breakfast!!!”
Pretty decent resort with a beautiful private beach. Love their breakfast with wide varieties. we stayed at the palm cottage room with balcony which is near carpark and also short walking distance to the beach and osen spa.
Pleasant resort and surroundings but poor wi-fi”
The exterior of the resort looks a bit tired but the rooms are fine, although the bathroom a bit old. Nice beach but as it was Winter, did not really use. Staff spoke reasonable amount of English. Breakfast buffet very busy, and good choice of local food available plus some Western items. Ate in the Japanese restaurant which had good food, although very noisy with lots of babies crying, despite being 8pm, plus it had very harsh lighting which detracted from the experience. Unable to lend us a multi-country adapter as we had omitted to pack one. Wi-fi very poor in room but better at breakfast restaurant. TV had just a few Japanese stations.
to most honest, if it is a resort, the facilities offer/open are not to standard or I should say are limited. the pool is not open maybe due to the month of December.... and there is no gym room. The food offers at the lounge are very very few, only a few dishes of snacks indeed, but drinks are alright!
Relaxing resort ”
Pros: lovely beach, friendly staff, spacious room(palm cottage), free rental of bicycle(2 hours), small but clean n cozy spa, good spread of buffet breakfast. No wifi in room but a free usage Hp is provided. It can be brought out of hotel if you wish to explore surrounding area or for use to make local or international calls.
I like this resort despite it being on the pricey side. Rooms are a little outdated but the location and facilities are good enough to offset the negatives. Seems likt the resort has gone through some changes in ownership and whilst they are still trying to find their feet there will be shortfalls however the willingness of the staff to help should see this resort come through and become even better.
This is a relax resort, staffs are friendly, always willing to offer help and cheerful. Buffet breakfast is excellent, lots of choices of food. Place is great, lots of trees, beautiful private beach, church.
Good place to stay”
We have our wedding ceremony in Okuma Chapel, we spent a great night there. Staffs were helpful and reasonable to offer free upgrade to Garden Villa & late check out to us. Appreciate of their effort
The hotel is located at the north of Okinawa Island. Makes it quite feasible for visit at Cape Hedo and aquarium as well. Amenities at the hotel is good as well. ECO Museum also provided painting activity and we enjoyed it.
Second time to JAL resort Okuma!”
It's my second time to JAL resort Okuma, I love the beach nearby, spacious and nice room, great location to the north (As I travelled to Cape Hedo, the most north point of Okinawa). There was some misunderstanding when we checked it. I have booked two rooms for four people via Agoda, but the hotel could only see two rooms for two people from their own confirmation email. Luckily the hotel staffs are nice enough to help us with the arrangement. I suggested Agoda to look into this problem and avoid confusion, as it may jeopardise the trust between customers and the hotel.
Note that the hot bath opens for 15:00-23:00 only, not available in the morning.
very beautiful hotel”
I went there for my brother wedding. Its a very nice hotel, but little bit far away from the main shopping area.
Awesome hidden resorts hotel”
It seems it's real private report. Sea-view spa, private cottage room is especially perfect for us.
Everything was good”
Was especially good at morning meals and private beach.
