One of the best hotels in have stayed in Thailand ”
Stay for 3 night but wished I could have stayed longer, Pimm and all the staff are just fantastic they organised all my tours which were great value for money and also a lot of fun. The hotel rooms are decorated with a real Thai feel, the breakfast was just perfect very day. the location is only 160 bart from the airport and in the middle of the old city so can wonder around with out any trouble the street that runs along side the hotel gets turned into a street market every Sunday night. However there is a night market only 10 mins walk every night where you can get good meals for around 40 bart. make sure you give your self a week to take in chang mai , and also check out chang rai to the North this is the place to stay 10 out of 10
Great Hotel in the heart of the old city.”
I really loved the Parasol Inn and only have one negative thing to say about it. I read several reviews from others who said the same thing, the staff is rude. When I travel I pack light and have laundry done as needed. According to their amenities and services they have laundry service for their guests. When I took mine to the front desk, I was told they don't have laundry service and to go down the street (a 5 minute walk) to a local laundry. The Parasol inn sits on the corner of a busy intersection which means there are 4-ways to go, but no directions. I went outside and found the restaurant manager and he directed me. The rooms are really nice, each one is different with a theme from one of the many temples inside the city. No elevator, but it's only 4-floors and I didn't mind that. Yes I would stay there again, and recommend it, but don't go there expecting top of the line service.
little hotel with style in the center of old town”
I choose Parasol for its center location in the old city. The decoration and room standard is a nice surprise for the cost. I love the very thai style furniture and wall paintings. And if you spend the weekend there, you will find Sunday night market is right downstairs. It is so convenient, we can drop off shopping bags and get back to all the street vendors again. Because of its location, traffic noise is expected, but it does not bother us. The only less satisfying thing is the breakfast, it is actually quite standard, but after two days i just cannot eat the same thing again. Some varieties would be nice.
Nice hotel for the value”
The hotel price is very nice and it was close enough to city centre. Your rooms are big and clean. The walls are a bit thin and can get a bit noisy. I would recommend this hotel if your on a budget and don't care too much about the extras. its no 5 star hotel but if your looking for a good bang for you buck, this a good hotel to pick. The staff is extremely helpful and they do speak English.
the hotel is well located in the old town. the room was well sized and was cleaned every day. wifi and ac worked well. the staff helped us to organize our tours and were very helpful overall. i can recommend this hotel.
perfect location, cute rooms”
we stayed here on visiting the old city. what a perfect location. if you want to vist some temples and walk around the old city this hotel is perfect. there is one of the most famous temples in all of chiang mai right behind the hotel, truly stunning. the man who worked the front desk was very friendy and humble. we were served breakfast in the morning and the freshly squeezed tangerine juice was awesome. what a great place to begin exploring from either on foot or bicycle as this hotel is well worth the stay in the old city.
Great Location, Service, Clean”
Nice hotel for the price that we paid. No pool, although we didn't need it as we were busy sight seeing. No elevator however staff was happy to help with luggages. Receptionist (Nit) was very friendly and helpful. Older renovated building however we had ac pipes going through the washroom - definately that part could use a bit more attention to detail, hower it's not a Thai trait from my experience. Overall would stay there again and would recommend, but not at the full price listed on here. Free wifi was reliable and we had very good signal in the room.
Safe, quiet and close to interesting places”
I had book this hotel for my mom. She traveled alone to do some business. She's 55 and knows nothing about Chiang Mai, has no car of any friends there. I called the staff of the hotel before she arrived to make sure that everything is ok for her. The staff was very helpful and nice. My mom and me are appreciate what they did for us. The room is clean and comfortable. Close to the famous temples and walking street. Just walk for a few minutes to Three Kings monument and the museum.
Cozy boutique hotel ”
we, 3 persons, stayed 6 nights and was upgraded to deluxe room which was spacious and clean. staffs were so friendly and smiles all the time. housekeeping taught me to fold towel elephant....hehe hotel held the "krathong workshop" in which i made my own krathong and was given a certificate! it's unexpected but excited and joyful! thanks so much the staffs gave the warmest and caring during out stay.
Great location and friendly staff”
The Parasol Inn is a very well run boutique hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai's old town. It is a five minute walk to the Thapae Gate and the canal. Step out of the hotel and you are literally in the middle of the famous Sunday Market. In addition to the many beautifully adorned temples in the old town, there is a lovely centuries-old, wooden temple right next door to the hotel. The room I had was spacious with a large bathroom, a/c and free wireless for my laptop. Breakfast (Asian or Western style) is also offered free. Best of all is the friendly, helpful and professional staff. The Parasol Inn is priced very reasonably and I would recommend it to anyone who wants value for their money and enjoys being treated with warm hospitality.
two thums up!”
the hotel has a great location for touring temples and sunday night market. the rooms are clean and have unique atmosphere. furthermore the staffs are very kindly showing service by heart. i feel really comfortable with them and will absolutely be back to the hotel again when i visit the city in the future.
Smile and sincere service.”
Front always smile and give good advice such as nice restaurants, temple and how to take cheapest transportation. Breakfast has only 4 sets to choose but taste quite good. Surrounded by many temples, can walk only 10 minutes to Saturday walking street and only step out of hotel door, you will be in the middle of Sunday walking street, everything is excellent.
We booked the Parasol Inn via Agoda for only two nights, at a good rate, but ended up staying longer and returning to stay again. The hotel staff are extremely helpful, polite and friendly, always willing to assist with any problem or enquiry. They were kind enough to store our unneeded luggage while we were away travelling for a few days. The rooms are very spacious, attractively decorated and very clean. Only some minor touches are needed as far as paint repairs etc. Our bed was a huge king size and very comfortable. Located at the intersection of the Sunday night markets and being in central Chiang Mai, makes the hotel ideal for shopping and commuting to other places in the city. Included breakfasts are provided by the cafe adjoining the hotel and the menu is limited to 4 options, with which we had no complaints. There are no safes in the rooms but the staff will store any valuables securely for you at reception for 30 baht. Hair dryers can be hired for a one off minimal fee of 50 baht. Massages are available in the lobby or private room, the prices are very reasonable and the massage ladies are very good at what they do. We have already recommended Parasol Inn to fellow travellers.
Center of town on a budget”
Parasol Inn's best feature is smack centrality allowing best access in any direction. Right on the Sunday Market path for easy shopping and bag dropping, tuk-tuk access, and a good walk to any cafe restaurent amenity. It is simple basic accomodation, but clean and comfortable. A good value for Chiang Mai. Friendly staff, and comfortable features.
Good location, easy access to everywhere, good staff with smile, Sunday night market in front of the hotel, lots of massage and shops”
Good location, walking to lots of temples, massage along the road, easy to get tuk tuk, red car, taxi; good and helpful staff with smile; easy access to everywhere either walking or taking tuk tuk or red car Don't go to the Thai Restaurant just opposite to the hotel; the services is so rude and bad. The portion of food is so small and it's not worth for the price and actually it's expensive compared with the others. I ordered the oyster omlette and it only had 2-3 oyster etc.
Location near Sunday night market”
Pros: Highly recommended if you plan to visit the Sunday bazaar. Its location is near to temple, shops and inside the old city. Cons: Expect the noise especially on Sunday. No elevator, hence need to carry your luggage up the narrow stair. Water pressure in the 4th floor is low. One of the worst breakfast I have ever have in my life. You can only allow to order 1 set of breakfast from a very limited choice. Totally not fantastic at all. The taxi front desk personnel ordered was 35mins late originals being told that it was 10mins. Furthermore, it was not taxi. More to me seem like a personal car.
Good location. Great staff”
The location of the place is definitely great. The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are just ok (the pillows are very uncomfortable). The hot shower does not last at all.The insulation between the rooms is nearly zero. The breakfast is not good at all.
Love this place”
I absolutely loved it here! The front desk was awesome and so helpful! You are right in the middle of everything. The breakfast is delicious. When I visit Thailand again some day I will definitely stay here!
good location , in the heart of Old town”
this Inn is located at the center of Old town, it means really convinient for anywhere but busy from the morning to late at night. Room was enough for solo or couples with the least facilities even though the window was so small i felt uneasy. and a bit smelly from drain when i walked into my room . Hot Shower is avairable but the pressure was weak on the 4th floor. Breakfast was decent and could enjoy outside restaurant in a morning breeze. staffs are friendly when i asked some questions . overall it costs a bit pricy so i will stay another place next time.
A bit pricy, but excellent”
I arrived late, around midnight, but the receptionist was waiting and very friendly. The hotel was super clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable (I was prepared for extra hard beds). Room had a tv, water heater and coffee and water bottles provided all free. Bathroom and shower were clean and worked well. Breakfast was included and was substantial, though the Western option wasn't impressive. A lot more expensive than a hostel but if you have the budget for it id definitely recommend staying here.
