Nestled in a lush garden setting only four kilometers from town, this resort offers the weary traveler or couple on honeymoon a fantastic experience. With a panoramic vista of the Arabian Sea and a peaceful lake, travelers find the setting perfect for romantic candlelight dinners at the waters edge and the sounds of crickets chirping extremely relaxing. In the day time the ocean and lake waters provide an excellent venue for water sports, while the lush gardens surrounding the property attract a wide range of bird species. A popular choice by many travelers is to avail themselves of the invigorating Ayurvedic massage available, while the nearby bus and taxi stands make trips to town very easy.
"Food quality, and breakfast spread was excellent."

Wonderful location ”
Stayed with family for 2 days, the resort is facing the big lake. The scenic view is just amazing. The roads towards the resort is narrow but that is not a constraint but just be aware and careful. Once you reach resort, it is well maintained and spacious. Facilities like swimming pool, restaurant is good. Complimentary cruise in the evening(during sun set time) is great value-add. You can relax, enjoy the view of endless water(in the lake), houseboats going back and forth. The rooms had a traditional look, definitely worth a try. The staff were courteous and polite. My kids had great fun and they wanted to visit again soon. The highlight would be the evening cruise, delicious breakfast, swimming pool and peaceful location.
Great property staff food”
Pros Has very good veg food Has a beautiful property with wood used everywhere Staff very friendly and helpful For babies they have very good cribs Great value for money Cons Can improve coffee :)
Very friendly staff, amazing! Staff in restaurant excellent!!!!!!!! Very competent yoga teacher Pradeep. Very good Ayurvedic massages.
Charming place on the lake. Staff helpful and friendly. Food delicious. Free afternoon boat ride on the lake lovely. A bit far from town but most people are there for the houseboats anyway. Pool undergoing renovation when we were there.
A beautiful resort with excellent food in the restaurant. Really loved the peace and quiet.
Good staff but property a let down”
We paid a bomb for the facilities and view on offer. I have stayed in some of the best resorts in india at similar pricing or a little higher with a very high standard of hospitality and facilities. The food is bad and limited on menu. The property is not big, it is small - hardly 8 to 9 acres of usable portion. Should have stayed in Kumarakom resorts instead. And the property is old and needs redevelopment. Go there only if u don't get anything else. The staff are very friendly and kind - I must admit
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are very traditional - our stay at this resort was fantastic.
Excellent heritage resort”
Provides traditional experience. Great location , just beside the lake. Restaurant service was excellent with great food.
The sleep bad was bad and there were so dirty for example , there were no places to remove water from running .
Tranquil spot for relaxing”
The resort is in a beautiful setting and is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The restaurant staff were courteous, attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and great value for money. The evening cruise is a nice inclusion in the room rate. The resort is not close to any town which is ok if you are just there to relax and enjoy the backwaters. Also it is about 2 hours from Cochin airport and you would be unlikely to find it unless you book the hotel car. The rooms are quite unique, built in traditional style. We liked the "outdoor" bathroom.
A great experience”
3 real excellent nights in the superb hotel, A nice clean and calm room with all facilities, an outside washing room really pleasant, a super swimming pool and a pretty pleasant ballad on boat for the sunset. A good restaurant and a team on top . we loved our stay there and will surely come back for another stay. We really recomand this hotel near the lake

Much better accommodation available elsewhere.”
Basic accommodation charged at Western prices.
Fun times. Great food.”
Great breakfast! And all options right at finger tips.
Wow, what a wonderful, lovely place. From the moment we arrived we were overwhelmed with the beauty, tranquility, and ambiance of this Lakeside Retreat. From the warm loving welcome, to the beautiful”
From the day we arrived we were overwhelmed by the whole Punnamada experience. We had booked a garden view room but upgraded to lake view (which was most certainly worth every rupee). Everything about this place oozed luxury, peace, contentment, happiness and calm. We could not have asked for more. On our first night after informing the manager that it was my friend's birthday, they surprised her with a complimentary cake with her name on it ,lovingly presented by wonderful staff who serenaded her with a happy birthday song and a firework display! Thank you so so much - it made her birthday very special and memorable. The complimentary sunset cruise and afternoon tea was a lovely touch. We booked a back water cruise with the addition of a canoe to take us through the smaller canals. We must thank Riddish and the lovely man who paddled us through the smaller waterways, for looking after us on our cruise. Overall, the entirety of our stay was an experience we will cherish. A big thank you to everyone in your team.
Clean. Rustic. Great food.”
Yoga lessons, breakfast that was quality.
Pricey resort with satisfactory experience.”
The resort grounds was nice and the staff who we interacted with personally were very good/great! They also had free tea time and other activities like sunset cruise which was a good value. The facilities in the room left a little to be desired. The bathroom was muggy (not air conditioned) and had mosquitoes. The AC did not work the first day but they promptly fixed it the next day. The wifi kept dropping (they claimed a loose ethernet card) and they would not send anyone to look into it. We had to call 3 times before someone came in. On the day of the checkout we called twice about the wifi and they did not send anyone till our checkout time (2 hours 9-11AM). Resort is good but better customer service would be appreciated. They seemed to not care about making things right when we complained.
Beautiful decor and surrounds”
The decor, service amenities and ambiance were very nice. Beautiful gardens and very secluded. The only complaint if any was that the hot water had to run for a few minutes before the water was hot
Rustic Kerala resort but staff need to be better trained”
We stayed at this resort for 2 nights staring Dec 1st, 2016. The resort is located on Lake Vemband, near the south-west corner. One has to drive through a very narrow village road to reach the resort. It is a beautiful resort with a very traditional Kerala look. All rooms are on the ground level and the resort is fairly spread out. The rooms have a rustic village like look and the furniture are typical of the region, a lot of wood and cane. The rooms have all the amenities including air-conditioning, mini fridge, TV and safe. The Wi-Fi is complimentary and allows any number of devices. We had a lot of problems with the Wi-Fi connection. My wife called the front desk twice, during our stay, and as much as she was told help would be arriving, no one cared show up. There is one restaurant on the property that is used to serve all the meals. The hotel arranges a few activities for the guests, on a complimentary basis. For one hour in the evening, tea/coffee with some snacks are served on the lake front. There is also a one-hour complimentary boat ride though back-waters, from 5:30 pm The breakfast spread is acceptable but not adequate. Some of the selections were running out and replenishment was slow. Also, one lady was unable to understand our requests, in English. Twice we asked for earl gray tea (just light liquor) and both times we were given normal Indian tea with milk and sugar. My wife ordered an omelet which had a strand of hair, in it. This turned us of quite a bit. We had dinner at restaurant the both evenings. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes, and we enjoyed our selection. However, the resort only has a beer/wine license. As cocktail people, we were disappointed. Our checkout process was not pleasant, at all. We were told the computer software was having some trouble. We waited patiently for about 10 mins. Given that we had a tight schedule, I asked the front desk to send the bill (just two dinner payments) to my email, and
