the granvia hotel in hiroshima is located directly outside the station and bus terminal which makes arrival pleasantly easy. the staff are extremely helpful and polite and the rooms are clean and of decent size with nice views of the city and surrounding mountains. below the hotel you will find an excellent range of restaurants. for those who do not mind spending some time on their feet, the granvia is within walking distance to the hiroshima castle and peace memorial museum - the latter being an absolute must for any visitors to hiroshima.

This is positioned rather as a Budget Hotel in Hiroshima, and indeed you will have slightly less amenities or facilities as a luxury hotel, however all basic standards for cleanliness and safety are met at the highest level. Staff very professional, speaking English and friendly. The building is and "feels" new, rooms feel fresh and modern, if not very large very well designed to optimize all space and have all comfort a traveler needs (power sockets with adapters and multiple USB sockets throughout the room, comfortable bathroom with all amenities, slippers, etc.). We would definitely stay again, especially given the unbeatable value for money.

The hotel has fantastic staff who are always helpful and always cheerful. Check in and Check out process were fast and smooth. Rooms and the bathrooms are clean. The Japanese breakfast options in the breakfast buffet are good. They western selections are limited. The hotel provides a free shuttle service from Hiroshima railway station. There is also a city bus service that stops in front of the hotel. However the shuttle takes about 30 - 40 minutes and the city bus takes about 55 mins to 60 minutes from the railway station. In the evenings, it is best to take a taxi from a taxi stand as we spent a significant amount of time trying to hail a taxi from Moto-Ujina-Guchi on the Hiroshima electric railway stations. We ultimately walked about 1.5 kms to the hotel since none of the cabs were willing to stop. Bottom line - great hotel with great rooms and service and a good Japanese breakfast buffet but a little out of the way.

for my whole stay in japan, this hotel deserves the top rank for a budget to midrange hotel. the room is not too crowded. just what i expect from a hotel. best value for money. also, the only hotel that confirm my online booking and reserve a non-smoking room for me through e-mail. also has a good access in the major tourist spots in hiroshima. just within 1km distance to hiroshima station, peace memorial park, chuo park, shukkeien, and hiroshima castle.

location is just perfect, easy straight way from hiroshima bus center, in the center of hiroshima, and surrounded by tons of shopping malls and food places. staff service was absolutely amazing, all can speak english fluently. complimentary morning english newspaper is also good. the room was also so spacious, especially we carried one big luggage. the carpet a little bit old and dirty. did not try the restaaurants or bars in the hotel though. one of the best hotel in hiroshima for sure. absolutely will book this hotel again

This APA hotel is a new APA hotel in Hiroshima (they have another one nearer to hiroshima station) and it can be hard to find if you do not know how to navigate the underground exits from Hiroshima station, though once you get there, it's actually relatively easy. Staff was able to speak English and were kind and helpful. The room has a big TV and everything was clean, tidy and in place. There seem to be Hiroshima delicacies available for takeaway right at the hotel lobby restaurant, though I did not try. Highly recommend this place.

The hotel room was clean. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Among the hotel in hiroshima, Mitsui Garden is considered very value for money.

This hotel was the perfect location to get around to many major tourist attractions in Hiroshima, and easily accessible from the Hiroshima station. Our room was very nice and spacious. Bed was comfortable, and the addition of the tv being a smart tv was nice for Netflix. The hotel itself was very nice; clearly new, the lobby always smelled fantastic. The views from reception were great, I wish we had a room higher up to enjoy it more! The sky spa does not allow tourists with tattoos so I regret not being able to experience that. Otherwise this was a great hotel for a one night stay in Hiroshima.

Right in the centre of Hiroshima, easy to reach from the JR station by taking the awesome trolley cars, about a 15 min trip. Situated on the peace boulevard and a short walk to the peace park makes this place ideal to see Hiroshima. The main shopping arcade hon-dori has some great shopping for a smaller city. The best place for traditional hiroshima food in Okonomi-mura just down from the hatchobori tram stop, just ask the locals if you can't find it, the entrance is a side street with a neon sign above that says Okonomi-mura.

First time booking 3pax room in hiroshima. It is AMAZING! Firstly the toilet room is separated from the shower area, so we won't fight for the washroom at night and morning. The most amazing is that it contains 1 stand up shower room and 1 separated Japanese style shower room. Therefore, at night we can have 2 pax shower at the same time but separately in two shower rooms. And the third person can also brush teeth and wash face at the sink also at the same time. That saves a lot of time when 3 pax travel together. Room is super big and the hotel provides free drink (coffee and tea) at lounge every night. It is also very close to the shopping and restaurant area in Hiroshima but definitely not noisy at night as it is around 3-5min walk away from the crowd. Although it is not close to hiroshima station there is a circulated bus line right in front of the hotel, very convenient! As soon as you stick with the bus schedule, the time is completely under control.

I like the hotel service and location. This is the first hotel that we stayed for our trip. After a very long hour travelling from singapore and transit at KL, then took the bullet train from osaka to hiroshima and transfer to local train to majiyama station, it was very tired. Fortunately, the hotel is located near to the majiyama station. We arrived there about 12pm, just did the registration and they will helped us to transfer the luggage to the room. Location is also near to the ferry terminal, just few step in front of hotel, best recommandation for those who like to visit majiyama island. Besides that, I like to enjoy their breakfast although not many choise (compare with 4 or 5 star hotel), but the food was nice.

Location 2 Hiroden station from Hondori Shopping street. We usually take a walk. Near to some eatery that opens late. So not worried if hungry when getting back from late outings. Hotel provides the basic toiletries like comb, toothbrush, shaver, hair dryer etc. Sufficient for me. Room is properly layout so though small, still manageable for 2 person. Taxi to Hotel from Hiroshima Station was 1430yen while checking in. While checking out, Hotel Staff assist to book a taxi for us. We only paid 1110 yen. The only down side is it takes 20mins to travel via Hiroden to Hiroshima station. So we need to add another 30mins to our travel time. Staff were great and helpful. Stayed 9 nights. Overall we like this place and will come back here again if we were to visit Hiroshima again.

This was definitely one of the more nicer hotels I stayed in during my trip. The staff during check in was super nice and I'm just going to say it, I love the pajamas they provide. They were so COMFORTABLE and soft!!! The bathrooms were great and I loved that they had boxes available at all times in the lobby to refill any of the amenities you might want (tea, toothbrushes, washtowels, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, etc). While I can't say a ton for the location because I actually didn't spend a ton of time in Fukuyama (I was doing the Shimanami Kaido trail from Onomichi). It looked like there was quite a bit nearby to see and there are maps with all the attractions available. For those planning on doing the Shimanami Keido, it is maybe a 20 minute (likely less) train ride to Onomichi and the bike rentals and ferries to the start of the route are maybe a 5 minute walk from the station. This is a great alternative to staying in Onomichi and provides you with a really nice place to stay. This hotel is a 15 minute walk to the train station in Fukuyama and super eary to navigate. I think what I liked best about this hotel was the security. I really liked that in order to use the elevators about the reception floor, you need to use your key card. Also, they have really strong security for the baths on the upper floors and codes that change every day for the women's room. I really liked this aspect. Also, breakfast included in the hotel stay is always amazing! They had a good spread. I recommend this hotel.

The Sheraton hotel in Hiroshima is great. Its situated right neat the shinkansen station so its very easy to find. The staff are great & Helpful. The rooms are one of the best that i have ever stayed in with a great view & I would definitley stay there again.

Hotel is great to escape to. Feels like a minimalist home with warm, cosy vibe. Tasteful real wood furniture and aesthetics. Onsen has waterproof tatami floor and special stone tiles. No night view out across the bay due to steam. Best to try onsen during sunset. Excellent buffet breakfast and dinner using local ingredients. But Miyajima is a victim of its own success. Local and foreign tourists rampage during the day. Much shameful, intrusive behaviour from foreign tourists on the shrine grounds. Chatty local teens on school tours fill most of the daylight hours. Good that there is little vehicular traffic. Best to stay over couple of nights to catch the tides and moonlight for memorable Itsukushima shrine and Torii views. Skip the Momijidani Park walk. Tourist herds have trampled the path into a sodden wasteland.

We loved this hotel. We stayed 5 nights and were sad to leave the comfort of our cosy and clean room. The staff were super helpful and speak a little English. Breakfast was cheap at 620Yen and was a selection of house made Japanese fair served in the lovely dining room each day. This hotel is fantastic value for money and the rooms are a typical small room but well planned so that it seemed spacious for two people. The interior is a little tired but clean and comfortable. Original art in the room was a nice touch. Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed at another hotel in Hiroshima that was more expensive and it didn't come close to the quality of this hotel. We plan to stay here again as it's just a great hotel.

my husband and i stopped by at hiroshima on the way to kyoto last november. we just booked the hotel by chance since we did not know which hotel in hiroshima is the best. to our amaze, we never expected to experience a beautiful stay in this hotel. it was only one night and we arrived a little bit late that day but the receptionists at the counter were very helpful and understanding. upon check-in we were given all the advices we need while visiting hiroshima. later, we headed straight to miyajima island after we left the bags in our room. it was 3 0'clock in the afternoon. we managed to complete our island tour by 5.30. it was unforgettable. the nicest thing i like about the room is the view. we could see a lot of activities along the bridge from the window.

Simple is the Key !! I do not usually leave comments on website during my trip but my stay in Santiago Guest House in Hiroshima was simply Great. Best experience. Find some inspiration there, it was easy to find everything you need : - The location : just on the center of life in Hiroshima, between Museums, meeting place, Castles, Gardens, Second Hand Shops, Omiage ( cadeaux Japonais ), Good restaurant ( okonomiyaki <3 ) etc ... -Staff : Well received ! Many good advices ! The ambience was festive and warm, and a good time was had by all. -The place : So Clean !!!! Confortable, Modern and Elegant design, simplicity is the key. - Quality-Price Ratio : Best Place RECOMMANDABLE. Thank You

We ended up in Fukuyama because we couldn't find a good hotel in Hiroshima available. Now I'm happy that happened, because this hotel is just opposite the train station and it takes just over 20 minutes to be in Hiroshima by train (with JR pass). Besides, the hotel is also walking distance from the beautiful Fukuyama Castle and museums. Very convenient. Apart from that, the hotel is the most comfortable we saw in Japan: good beds, shower, spotless bathroom, really dark rooms (good curtains, which is rare), silent and with a very friendly and attentive staff. I couldn't recommend more.

Another great Japanese business hotel. I took the no clean in service option. Basically meant you leave your used towels and garbage outside your door and they'll leave new ones +toiletries for you. They don't change your sheets, but I was there for less than a week. Location is great. The place is just around the corner from Hiroshima station (between the first and second streetcar stops). Great if you plan on taking trips outside of the city. Easy access to highway buses, shinkansen, Jr train, and streetcar. The airport bus also stops there. Points of interests/shopping are all within walkable distance(20mins), or the streetcars will also take you there. Room was clean and small like all business hotels, but there was a full body mirror in the room. There's enough room to open up one piece of medium sized luggage.

a 2-year old hotel with friendly and helpful front staff .when i needed assistance to call a hotel in hiroshima to retrieve some personal items left there inadvertently, they offered to do that for me. the traditional japanese dinner costing yen per pax and service rendered were excellent. room was perfect-- very spacious and yukatas and pajamas provided . rooms are on the second , third and fourth floors. public bath on 5th floor has an indoor and an outdoor one where one can see the mainland and the pier. a very memorable stay for both of us.

This is a fantastic hotel located within a garden. The hotel is very beautiful and the staffs are simply amazing. It is also very quiet in the room and we can get a very good rest before catching our flight the next morning. The restaurants serve a variety of Japanese and International food. It is also within minutes from the Hiroshima Airport and near to the car rental shops as well. There is free shuttle services to the Hiroshima Airport from the hotel and I really have to commend their staffs for the exceptionally wonderful services rendered . Highly recommended for staying!!!

Note for travelers booking this hotel: There are 2 Urbain Hiroshima Hotels in the city, on opposite sides. So if you use google maps to find it you may well end up at the wrong one, as we did! Other than that, this hotel is a very good choice for accessing the major destinations in Hiroshima. Access to the street car or subway is roughly 5 min on foot. The A bomb dome and memorial peace park can be reached on foot in 20 min or faster by street car. Hiroshima castle is 15 min by foot. There are convenience stores and restaurants and shopping right outside the hotel. Overall nothing special about this hotel just a good solid place to stay for a few days and explore Hiroshima.

The small twin/double rooms and single rooms are the same size. Perfect for single travelers but really TINY for 2. Be sure to book the bigger room for 2 pax. It was clean and cozy, though small, with quite a big TV in the room. The windows in the room I got could not be opened though. And the staff at the reception doesn't speak English. But he tried his best to accommodate to our request of extra towels and pillows (self service). Overall fuss free and I would stay here again if I travel to Hiroshima.

We used this hotel as our base when traveling to Hiroshima and Miyajima. It was also the beginning of our Shimanami Kaido cycling trip. The hotel sent our luggage forward to our next destination so that we wouldn't have to worry about it. The breakfast buffet had alot of options as well.

We missed our first night as the ferry was cancelled due to a typhoon but that meant we stayed for the whole of the next day on the island. It is so beautiful and plenty to see, kids went up the ropeway and said that was impressive though the one who came down the nature trail was surprised when he met a couple of snakes. Saw a new-born deer prancing excitedly on its first visit to the sand. Worth an overnight stay to catch the sunrise and sunsets but beware that the restaurants mostly close early once the day-trippers have gone. Onsen was clean and quiet. Really pleased we stayed on the island rather than just day-tripping from Hiroshima.

Great place to stay on Miyajima. Recommend staying overnight on Miyajima rather than just doing the daytrip from Hiroshima. Outdoor onsen was beautiful - even caught sight of deers on the woods while soaking in there. Traditional rooms. Dinner was served in the restaurant. Breakfast had Japanese and Western food.

My adult daughter enjoyed our 4 nights at the Urbain Hiroshima Hotel. The staff had especially prepared a detail information booklet in English on things to do in Hiroshima. That was very helpful. We especially appreciated the breakfast room which was available 24 hours for free hot and cold drinks, plus the use of a microwave for self catering. Using the room key to access the lifts was a comforting security issue. We would certainly stay at the Urbain Hiroshima Executive Hotel should we visit Hiroshima again and would most definitely recommend it.

Just a few minutes walk from train station and buses, plus many major Fukuyama cultural attractions, local shopping and restaurants, made location in town excellent. In addition, a day trip to the town of Hiroshima is fast and easy directly from Fukuyama station. Facilities and value for money rated as only as good due to absence of an iron and ironing board in laundry or alternate supply of this at hand in the room. Like many hotels in Japan, the Richmond chose to provide just a trouser press, which isn't suitable for any other clothing. Access to an iron is a must for travellers and a reasonable expectation for hotels of the standard of the Richmond. If one is available via enquiry at front desk, I would like to suggest a guest request for this be invited via an invitation in the in-room information pack or via a sign in the wardrobe. Other hotel facilities were most welcoming, of high standard and very useful. Breakfast offering excellent and provision of a small hotel lounge next to dining area with newspapers and desktop computer access a very thoughtful addition. We are grateful to the all the Richmond Hotel staff for their exceptional and reliable service.

Stayed as a couple for one night in the twin room. Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room on entering - it was like staying in an actual apartment with a proper corridor, segregated bathroom and toilet, a living space and two large beds. There was even a balcony with chairs and table. Kitchenette was a great feature even though we didn't do any cooking. It was stocked with the basics such as crockery, utensils, some pans, a gas stove and tea/coffee making facilities. The room itself was very clean and spacious. We particularly liked that the floor was wood instead of carpet, which felt more clean. The bathroom and toilet were also very clean and modern with all the necessary toiletries. In terms of location, it was only a 5-8 minute walk to the Hiroshima Peace Park and about 10-15 minutes to walk to the downtown area. Great hotel and would recommend to others.
