This boutique hotel is housed in wooden Thai houses that date back to the reign of King Rama 6. The Grand Palace, Temple of Reclining Buddha, and Temple of the Dawn are all near Samsen sam Place. Just a kilometer away is the tourist haven of Khaosan Road, filled with bars, nightclubs, and shops. A short taxi ride from the hotel will take guests to Siam Square, filled with small boutique stores and several shopping malls. Despite the age of the property, the facilities are modern with Internet access as well as 24-hour room service. Walking distance to historical sites in Bangkok, and also close to entertainment and shopping venues, is Samsen sam Place.

Far out but so coool”
the Samsen Sam Place is a bit off the beaten track. You will need to take the boat taxi to get there (connecting from the BTS). But it is worth it. You have clean rooms with mattresses that don't make you wonder who slept on them last (as opposed to the Sukhumvit area). Lots to do at night. Feels like a bed and breakfast. Shucks, the secret is out!
Nice little place”
Old building, you can hear everything at night, our room was facing a little courtyard which was a walk through. Nice room otherwise, very friendly staff. Amazing coffee shop next door and good massage place down the street. Loved the location.
A unique and quiet place near the Khaosan area”
This place would make you feel comfortable but accessible to the major sites and eating area for foreigners. The place is clean and will make you feel the comfort and hospitality of a Thai accommodation. Would highly recommend the place to everyone.
Lovely place to sleep”
Great double bed in a private room. Shared bathroom which was clean. Sinks were outside the bathroom, which was a little strange but again were clean. Reception was very helpful and polite. We would stay again if we needed a bed for the evening. However not a lot to do around the hostel or in it.
Samsen Sam Place is like a little oasis in Bangkok, which can be pretty hectic. Location is great, since it is close to Khao San Road and Pier 13 to take a boat that will take you to the main attractions. The room was very spacious and clean, which we highly appreciate. Staff was very friendly and they even arranged a grab taxi to take us to the airport.
My private room is clean but it did not any furniture :) I like the toilet and bathroom because they is clean although they are shared by all people. I did not like the wall of this room, i can easily hear the voice from the next room. In one night, I cant sleep because the noise from the next room!
Friendly and good”
Nice staff, uncomplicated and helpful. Easy to reach Th. Phra Athit and the Boat Pier there by walking through the small alleys on daytime. Good coffeeshop next door and several options for local food at Th. Samsen and also western food. Rooms have plenty of storage possibilities and are well equipped (3-bed-room).
Relaxing and Quiet Atmosphere in the heart of Banglamphu”
I've splept in many Bangkok's Guest Houses and this was the best. The staff is nice and ready to help you if you have any problem. We slept in the old house : clean and full of charm ! The samsen area is really enjoyable : quiet but full of great restaurants and amazing live music bars. I especially recommend the "Adhere the 13th" for their blues nights and the "Exile" for their crazy rock lives . If you don't like the calm energy of the Samsen's sois, Rambuttri and Khao San are reachable in 10 minutes (walking).
Nice, clean, quiet room”
Nice, clean, and quiet room. The breakfast is a good deal and they give you water every day. Also, I got a free upgrade on the room (deluxe rooms are nice!). Only downside is that the AC only works when your key is in the holder, but it cools down in 15 minutes, so it’s not a huge deal 👍🏻☺️
Good time in Bangkok”
I was really happy when I stayed at the hotel. This made me feel relaxed and comfortable. All of the staff in the hotel was extremely nice. Furthermore, the hotel is really clean and there are many modern facilities. The hotel is located near convenient stores, bus stop and Khaosan market. If I have a chance, I will come back to Thailand and stay there.
Loved staying here!”
Everyone who worked here was very kind and helpful. The location is great - walking distance from a lot of great spots in Bangkok but down a quiet, relaxed street. The rooms were immaculate, the beds super comfortable, the bathroom was perfect. And this place had the only A.C. I had in all of my Southeast Asia backpacking trip!
Boutique guesthouse in a great location”
We had a great stay at Samsen sam Place a boutique guesthouse in a great location of town within a short stroll of public transportation, the bustling night life of Khoa San Road, and waterfront dining - also close by are historical landmarks and temples. There's a cafe located on the property which we didn't have the opportunity to try because of our short stay. However we would stay here again if we're in the area, recommended!
We spent 3 nights here, the place is 10 minutes walk from Khaosan road, located in quiet area. The room was 90% tidy, AC worked good, bathroom had both cold/hot water. We had breakfast once and it was delicious. The staff was nice and helpful with us. One negative experience was that at nights in a certain period we heard a frog-like noise from outside and it was annoyingly loud. Can recommend this place.
With so many hotel choices in Bangkok it was difficult to pick one but I’m so glad we stayed here! When we arrived I wasn’t feeling well due to the hot weather, the man at reception immediately gave me an ice pack for my head to cool me off and was so kind during our stay. Rooms are updated and very nice. Air con works great. Overall great stay, will definitely stay again when In Bangkok.
My new home in Bangkok”
Every time I come back to Bangkok I look for a nice place, family run, quiet and centrally located for what I want (around Banglumpoo area). Last time I found this guest house and not only the place is well maintained and clean but the women who run it are very nice. I will definitely come back soon.

Staff very pleasant, servicable, they always acknowleged me by my first name. We stayed at this hotel 3 times during our 10 weeks vacations in Thaïland. And for our next trip to Bangkok we will book again at this hotel. It is clean, well maintained, all the equipment is fonctionning perfectly. It is close to Rambutri Village and Kaosan Road actvities (abt 7-8 min walk) and close to the river (3-4 min walk). I strongly recommend this hotel, it’s good quality/ price value.
Quite nice, nothing overly fancy but more then fine for a few first chilled out nights in bangkok. >10 minute walk to Khao San. Towels were provided and the staff was always nice and happy. Shared bath was clean. Would recommend if you’re searching for something some quite privacy near the shtshow of Khao San ;)
Very good places , cozy , cheap , clean , good serve , near from khaosan road ..”
I really think it's awesome , the places so damn cozy and clean... Recommended bangettttt
A budget hotel with old school charm ”
The location is great if you want to explore old Bangkok and Khao San road while being away from the madness. The hotel is in a peaceful location with minimal night time noise. The staff are so friendly and helpful especially the lady on the front desk who always greets you by first name and with a friendly smile. Definitely recommended.
Not sure where all those positive reviews came from but of the many hotels/ guesthouses/ hostels/ B&Bs I've stayed in this one is certainly not in my top 50%. I booked a double bed and got 2 single beds in a room with a window overlooking a hall, so I had to keep the curtains closed to have some privacy. The morning after the first night I put the “please clean room” sign on the door and it was still there with the room untouched when I returned early evening. Same story next day. Before coming here I spent time in the jungle and had poor Internet. I assumed that in the center of BKK it would be better. It wasn't. The WiFi signals from the different routers were all weak and dropped regularly. Even booking another hotel was a challenge but luckily I managed.
