The staff doesn’t speak English, took our passport 3 days for the check in, there is no western food, the breakfast is not very good and very expansive! The fridge doesn’t work. Maybe it was a good hotel before but now it’s just one or two stars hotel no more and it’s very far to sanya and the first good western restaurant. I’m very disappointed.
Best value resort on Sanya Bay”
Just cross the quiet road in front of the resort and your on the amazing white sands of the 20 km long Sanya Bay. Bus stop 2 mins walk along the road will allow you to catch a bus in the town for shopping and local restaurants. Great main swimming pool with spa pools at the side.
The hotel was fine. Beware of the informal seafood BBQ on the beach...we were outrageously overcharged. Our experience in other Chinese cities is that the vendors are fair and trustworthy. No so here....facing the beach to the right about 100 meters is a BBQ with two vertical florescent lights--avoid them! Benny's bar to the left is very good and the Chinese restaurant on the road is also very good.
Great Pool! Terrible internet”
Why did we give FULL10 stars for this hotel? Because this is the 4th time we have stayed here and every time we have a great time at the large clean pool and it is priced well compared to similar hotels in the area. Staff is extremely helpful and nice, rooms are spacious. Gardens are beautifully kept. Just a hop skip'n jump to the ocean! The omelet guy in the morning makes a mean omelet! What more could you ask for? Well… here is the honest lowdown. You wonder why this hotel is not a 5 star? Here is why: 1) Music. They play the same CD over and over again loud from 9am-11pm and can be heard loud and clear INSIDE the room. Very irritating. 2) Internet. Basically it doesn't work. Come on! It is the same as 3 years ago! Slow as my grandma's 15 year old cat with only one leg (poor thing - but somehow it still gets around). WIFI ONLY in the lobby. And in the morning it will basically won't work because everyone tries to get on it at the same time. LAN cable jack only inside the rooms (no wifi). Also very slow… SUGGESTION: Bring your wireless router from home so you can use the extremely slow internet inside the room with your phones and tablets. I may add though that slow internet access is still better than a kick to the head. (or in my Grandma's Cat's case - "1 leg is always better than none") Tips: 1) The Spaghetti Bolognese is AMAZING! Expensive … but I have to say this is worth even the price jack. 2) Rent a Jetski for only 100rmb/10min or a 4 wheel ATV for only 100rmb/hr on the beach 3) Play water basketball in the pool 4) Bring good earphones to drown out the terrible CD that will be overplayed while you are there 5) Try the two relaxing hot-tub/pools at night with a beer. 6) Get the omelet guy to make you a "SOS" (Super Omelet Sanya) AKA: The Russian Sub. It really looks like a Russian Sub actually! 7) Go to Monkey Islet 8) Get the fish to bite off all your old skin in the fish pool.
Good value for money. Breakfast needs improvement”
1) Breakfast. Please look at previous comments from most of the other customers. Everyone says the same thing. They put food out on the buffet table like we are back in war times. For example they will put 5 little pieces of bread out on the table and it will be gone in seconds like throwing a pieces of bread to Coi Fish in the hotel pond. Then you have to sit next to the serving table and stalk like a hungry tiger in a zoo waiting for the next plate of bread to be put out then pounce otherwise you know you will go hungry. When you come, be prepared for good ol' food rationing. (perhaps you can make a game of it? Tell the kids that this is what it was like in war times and bring your own loin cloths) There is simply not enough food and all that is left to eat on the table is gruel and porridge. Have to even constantly beg the staff to bring out more items and staples like butter, milk, jam etc Dear Hotel Manager. Here is a free tip for you: This has been like this for the 3 years that we have been coming to this hotel. Fire the Restaurant breakfast manager and you will have much more happy customers! (don't fire the omelet guy! He is awesome and the only plus at the breakfast!) 2) Restaurant. Restaurant lunch/dinner menu has doubled in price since last year. We were wondering why so few people were eating in the restaurant during this stay since the food was relatively good. There are now stickers over the old prices which have sadly doubled.
it is just China, never travel again”
so far so good, will not travel to China again, the Chinese travellers are the worst creator that ruin your vacation mood. Smoking at the pool is the not the worst, dropping their finished cigerittes in the pool is the most disgusting scence during my vacation.
Very nice beach resort”
Very pleasant stay. Nice view of Sanya Bay and city in distance from room. Short walk to beach. Grounds maintenance excellent. Breakfast very good and selections changed daily. Very nice pool, especially large shallow area for young children. Also hot soaking pool and pool with "kissing fish" that supposedly exfoliate skin. Long walk to nearest restaurant, but for 5 RMB can ride a three-wheel motorcycle "took-took" to these or cheap fruit shops (Mandarian skills helpful). To go to Sanya city take bus 26 or taxi. Tip: Go to Sanyawan Road instead of main hotel entrance for local transportation instead of hotel entrance. Internet cable was defective, staff changed it promptly. Room cleaned well daily. Would go back.
Awesome place, a little far from the city”
really beautiful pool and as close to the beach as you can get in sanya. we teach in central china, so this place was great to get real hamburgers and coconut coffee. it's a 25-30rmb taxi ride to town. the rooms are spacious and we really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful place,except for room inside”
rooms little bit used,i guess like everything in china they got bad look very fast, but still we enjoyed our stay, the swimming pool is great and the beach really close,so if you have small children it's convenient to go back to room.good place to have some nice time, strolls by the beach, but it really far from downtown about 55 yuan by taxi.
Great hotel in Sanya Bay adjacent to the beach!”
tianfuyuan resort is located in sanya bay and relatively close to the sanya phoenix airport. the hotel overlooks the sea and is only a short stroll across the road to the beach. the hotel contains all amenities necessary, and i'd consider it a 3 - 4 star (international standard) hotel. bedding was relatively comfortable and food availability was reasonable. english could be understood by a selection of employees. same goes for russian. i was relatively satisfied with this hotel for a discounted price.

Very nice hotel with all amenities and rooms”
Hotel is very near the airport and a short taxi ride.Lovely gardens and surrounds plus a huge swimming pool.Just a short walk across one road to the beach if you like a stroll and a swim in the sea. Surf jet skis are available and the swimming area is roped off and patrolled. At night by the pool, entertainment is provided by a musician and singer plus a bbq. Buffet breakfast is comprehensive with very edible food to suit all tastes. Is included in tarrif.
Beach was the best part- hotel was okay, not great”
Check-in takes about 30 minutes, so be prepared for that! When we walked into our room, two workmen were fixing our toilet, that was flooded all over the floor. We just wanted to get to the beach, so we asked them to step outside while we changed; but when we came back, it was fixed. Beds are really, really hard, and if you pay for an extra bed, it's more like a cot on a metal frame. Just be aware. Breakfast is okay, nothing exciting. Best part is the beach! Very clean, nice wooden beach lounge chairs for all, and a huge pool that's nice to take a dip into at night. Overall, was just happy to be on a quick beach weekend trip, but would probably find a different place next time.
Friendly Smile and Service”
Very happy with my stay in this Resort although i stay 1 night there. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was normal not very impressive. From Sanya station(Train) to the resort by meter is cost abt 22RMB take you 10min. Location- near seaside have beach bar, resort far from town. Near Sanya Airport. I will recommend my Friend and will choose this resort again for my next trip to Sanya.
Great views, quiet and relaxing”
the deluxe seview room is the best value for a couple. there is a magnificent view of the tropical gardens and the pool as wellas the sea. also they have a great rustic beach bar great for watching the sun set while eating well prepared bbq fish and eggplant (which you must try). many activities on the beach such as jet skis. it also has hot springs and a great large beautiful pool.
Hotel is quite good with the price, location is good for attaction points. Breakfast is same everyday and coffee is cool sometime. Room is clean but its the time to renovate. Water pressure is quite low to get a happy shower. Pool is good but you need to walk across the road to the beach.
Our Stay at the Tianfuyuan Resort in Sanya”
We enjoyed our four night stay. The access to the beach was very good and quick and easy. The access to transportation to downtown Sanya was also very easy. There is a new Golf Course going a short distance away from the Hotel on the Main entrance road. Now there is place a beautiful driving range with magnificent putting greens to practise on. We liked the electric bikes to rent and ride around on. The staff was always very couteous and responsive to whayever we needed. All in all a very good value for the money.
The Tianfuyuan Resort is a large hotel located immediately across the road from the beach where it has a number of sunbeds. Like all of the hotels in this area you need to take a taxi to get to anything other than a hotel restaurant. Overall it was clean tidy and even though full it never felt crowded.
The resort is very near to the beach, just across a street. There is also large swimming pool and bubble pool is the sea water is not your liking. Night time walking along the beach can be quite pleasant as there is many wedding couple taking their memorable wedding photo. There is also a large restaurant serving chinese food. The accommodation is with split level, ground floor with one room and second level is another room with kitchen living room balcony. Valve for money for family on a holiday. Best is it is very near to airport and getting taxis quite easy. As it is so near to airport hotel staff advice is just to get into taxis and then tell them going to airport or some will refuse due to low fare. Happy holiday as that what i can share.
Everything indoors = mediocre; everything outdoors = superb”
What we loved: pool! Very clean and landscaping was beautiful. Lots of deck chairs to lay out in the sun and a shallow pool (.6M) for kids to play in. Also had a great playground at the backend of the property for kids which was really convenient and perfect for our family. Parts of it were broken or cracked which is a normal china-playground- experience, sadly. However, considering its a hotel property and not a public park, we think it should be fixed up. And in general, the outside of the building looks like it's in need of maintenance and a paint job. Looks like it was built 30 years ago and for the most part left untouched (again, like many places in china, sadly). What we didn't like: customer service. Waited more than an hour for them to find our agoda reservation, they don't change your bath towels unless you hunt down the cleaning crew and ask for new ones and they always seem hesitant to give them to you, they wouldn't change the bed sheets unless prompted to and we were staying there for 6 nights, they won't replenish bottled water in the room after the first day, they don't replace dishes (coffee cups and mini bar glasses) each day so we had to wash them all week with our hand soap, they wouldn't call a taxi for us instead told us to to go the road and wave one down (we have 3 kids plus luggage!), they wouldn't allow late checkout, the Chinese restaurant at the hotel is way overpriced, and breakfast is NOT included with the room (it's 80 RMB / person which is probably 50 RMB too expensive considering the "western breakfast buffet" is subpar --these things aren't a big deal but it shows that generally speaking, they don't go out of their way to create a nice experience for you or show they really value the customer. Next door is the holiday inn - I recommend staying there. Also, there's a city tax of 11rmb per person per night that you pay at checkout. Be ready to pay for that.
