One night at Sapporo ”
Quality hotel with spacious room. Great bakery and services.
Sapporo Grand is located at the center of the underground passageway which runs from Sapporo station to Odori and Susukino. There are a few 24 hour places near the hotel - a gyudon place, a katsu place, a 7-eleven, a Lawson Station and there's a Starbucks at the lobby. It's also walking distance to the TV tower and the Sapporo clock tower. The breakfast buffet serves both traditional and western dishes and the staff are very friendly. The airport bus stops right outside of this hotel too. It's the first stop going to the airport too which makes it convenient because the bus can get really full.
Simply love it”
The hotel location is really good, just a walking distance to Sapporo and Otaru Station. The staff were very friendly and nice to chat with. We feel home whenever we return back to hotel after our day activities. We stayed at the main building. Although it may seems like its a little rundown as compared to the new site. It’s still comfortable and clean to stay.
The room provided was in the annex block, where the lift is a distance away from the main lobby. The view out of the room was just another building. The room was with a narrow entrance and was just big enough for two beds and not enough space to place our luggage. The room was non-smoking and to upgrade to a smoking room would cost us USD160. The smoking room is located at the rear entrance where the carpark is. The hotel was with a few amenities, including a business centre. The carpark was also charged at 1,500 yen per day. The interior of the hotel looked dated, but it was still clean. For the price we paid, it was not exactly value-for-money. There is no public bath as well. Nonetheless, the hotel was walking distance to the Odori Park, the TV Tower, and shopping district. Since we drove, it was also just a stone throw away to some other attractions. Only the front door stays opened in the late hours. The friendly English-speaking staffs made up for the flaws.
comfy for the whole family ”
We stay here every time visiting sapporo. Friendly and service-mind staffs they are. The location is great to go everywhere. There is taxi waiting in front of the hotel all the time and large car for whole family.
Close to Sapporo Station, Connected to underground shopping Centre, Good Service”
I stayed at another hotel before going to Toya. But did not like it. Came to Grand Hotel in person asking about whether we could leave luggages if we booked one night after. Yes, they said. So we brought luggages there next morning. Just show them your booking reference. After coming back from Toya and check in, they insisted to help bringing up luggages. I booked East building since it was renovated. Room was clean but washroom was small. Location is excellent. It is between Sapporo Station and Odori. There is an exit connected to underground which you can walk to Sapporo Station or to its other end Susukino.
After checking in, for our second stay (stayed somewhere else for 2 nights) we found that we had a smaller room facing a dark internal courtyard except this time the room had even less amenities in the room. The previous room had a coffee machine, this room not even an instant coffee. When we ask for coffee to be provided, they said the previous room in a comfort level and this room is not. Think about that for a second. You book into 5 star hotel, you are given a small room facing a dead courtyard and told no coffee provided because you are not on the comfort level. Clearly the hotel management have no clue. Thankfully there is a convenient store in front of the hotel and we could provide our own coffee. Overall, this hotel has the feeling it was once a great 5 star hotel but it is now been run by some kind of amateur management who really dont have a clue how to run a 5 star hotel. Refusing to supply coffee is the most ridiculous policy i have encountered in a 5 star hotel in my travel around the world. The only good this is the staff are really great, helpful and hardworking. Too bad the management have no clue.
Sapporo, Grand in every way”
Great hotel - very comfy and fantastic breakfast choices with 3 restaurants available, that cover everything from western to beautiful set Japanese breakfasts. Great location, within walking distance to park, shopping street (hold on to the wife's hand tightly!). It's a big hotel, but the staff still manages to make you feel special. Thanks! would definitely stay again.
Great location and all staff very helpful”
We happy to stay there for 4 night. Will come back and stay that hotel as all staff very helpfull and location near with station and a lot of food and restaurant in there. From hotel to chitose airport, staff of the hotel help us arrange a car. We are very blessed as the driver is very kind and nice.
Great location, friendly staff”
We had a wonderful stay at Sapporo Grand Hotel. Location wise, the hotel is centrally located and there's an underground walkway to the JR station. The hotel's deco looks a little outdated but it's very clean. Bell boys were extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if we are in Sapporo!
Terrific hotel- floors 8 and above”
The cons- late check-in (3pm), and early check-out (11am). Unless Ozzie Osborne was in the room before you, no hotel needs four hours for a turnaround. And- They only had one 'English language' news channel; CNN, which was dubbed in Japanese. Pros- an absolutely lovely hotel that seems to cater to a high-end demanding Japanese business clientele. The staff are brilliant, and what they haven't anticipated, which is very little, they will eagerly research for you. There are at least two wings-an older one with for some reason, pricier and funkier rooms, and the newer one with perfectly designed, and 'reasonably priced' rooms with amazing amenities. There's a terrific old school Dean Martinish red leather whiskey bar off the lobby as well. Location is brilliant for Sapporo station, Susekino area.
My 3rd time staying at this hotel. This time the room was within the main building , find it abit old. Overall , still like this hotel and will stay at this hotel again ... but will not book the room from the main building 😊
The location is superbly good”
the hotel can directly access to underground walkway, even raining you will be able to access to sapporo station or any other shops... and there is a bus station just beside the hotel, so you will be able to take the bus to chitose airport easily.
Great location in sapporo”
Location was so great!
Very nice room
Close to JR and main shopping area”
Well connected by underground (shopping) tunnel to the JR station. You can basically walk to most shopping centres and subway stations through the underground tunnel. There is hardly anyone on street level, the crowd are all underground like ants and it's a good way to get about since there are lots of shops underground. We were given two connecting rooms for a family of 5. When you consider breakfast is included, it becomes value for money since there are two choices of restaurants; buffet (continental and Japanese) or Japanese set menu. The Japanese set menu is worth it since it provides the traditional Japanese breakfast which in itself is elaborate and beautiful. I would recommend this accomodation.
Fantastic location with great service. ”
The underpass connects the hotel directly to Sapporo station, making it extremely convenient especially in winter when you want to hide from the biting cold! Staff were really friendly and readily helped us make reservations at popular restaurants ahead of time. The rooms were on the small side, but that is to be expected in Japan. Overall the stay was comfortable.
Great Hotel Experience”
Had a great experience at Hotel Sapporo - the location was good (near the station, had a direct underpass), the staff were super friendly, and they had many coupons to give when checking in (had some promotion going on in Dec 18). Will def recommend this hotel to friends!
A great hotel with good service, clean comfy room and excellent location, it’s a hotel worth for your money.
Got a room at last minute through agoda. Made a reservation on day prior. No show fee ”
