This is a private Kamala beach resort. This tropical oasis is situated on the private Nakalay bay right next to Kamala and Patong. Relax at one of the few remaining unspoiled private beaches for a unique Phuket experience. The free-form lagoon swimming pool is considered one of the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia. You will experience the ultimate sense of space and freedom at this Kamala beach resort. A hospitable Thai welcome awaits in the comfort of the spacious Thai style lobby. The refreshing welcome drink will help you unwind from your long journey.
Nakalay Beach is one of the largest stretches of unspoiled private beach in Phuket. The sea is very shallow for a long distance, meaning that the water goes back a long way when the tide is low, revealing mostly natural dead coral and rock. Check the tide tables displayed by the beach for the best times to take a swim.

This hotel will really make you feel that you're finally in Thailand. Everything amazed me from the lobby, private beach, swimming pool, breakfast and the view from my room! Also the staff were very helpful thanks to Mario and Tan!
Easy check-in/check-out. Friendly staffs. Complimentary shuttle was a great money saver as transportation in Phuket shockingly expensive except for the bus/songthaew. The environment feel different as there were Animals roaming around the compound, as well as the cable car which was different from any hotels stayed.
extra special. ”
unique and big swimming pool but breakfast too many peoles and not much tables to seat, so keep waiting until looking for table for breakfast, otherwise, private beach, fenicular, hill, mountain view, nice and special feeling there, not much place to go out from hotel though.
Cristina & Andres from Argentina”
It represents the sense of Thailand, we felt like staying in the middle of the jungle. The room was big, clean and very confortable (a little bit far away from the floor). Breakfast is delicious, and mixed. The taxi-service on the loby is expensive.
Amazing lagoon pool, stunning private beach”
The pool is perfect for young children, massive, not too deep. The property is stunning with gorgeous plants and a clean, private beach. They also have bunnies, birds and a giant tortoise come out a few times a day for the littles to interact with. Love it!
The hotel environment is absolutely amazing and beautiful, the staffs are friendly, quick check in and check out process, the king bed is so large and comfortable but a little bit hard, the bathroom and bath tubs are good, the pool assess room is very convenient for me as my son likes to swim, the pool is so large and beautiful, the food selection for breakfast was so so, not much halal food, the in room dining meal selection are limited and the price is a little bit expensive, definitely will come back again 👍🏻
Very bad stay”
The stuff is good only 3 stars hotel no more Nothing recomended in this hotel. Furniture is awful. Cabel car is very bad need more than 10 mins to reach your room at that time you will be mosquitoes's dinner. Bugs were every where No kids club. If you want the wild life this will be good for you. 2 days more than enough.
Silent and privacy”
Hotel has traditinal architecture, staffs are nice and helpful. Sea not perfect but people who wanna swim at sea, can swim or can use kanoe to go middle of sea. Çalışanlar ilgili, her konuda yardıma açıklar. Bence erken rezervasyonla çok uyguna rezervasyonunuzu yaptırın. Giderseniz araç kiralayın heryeri gezmek başka türlü çok zor olacaktır.
Needs an Upgrade”
The resort is beautiful. It is Near to Patong by Taxi however the taxi service is expensive from the resort ranging from 400 Bath. You rather use the shuttle service provided. I booked the pool side room. My room was a bit out dated. I was not happy about that however the Hill side ocean facing room was amazing. Be prepared for the bugs and mosquitos. Food is expensive at the resort, The pool and beach is amazing. Will definitely go back some day.
Beautiful Resort. Great customer service!!”
This is the second time I have stayed at the Thavorn Beach Resort and it is a beautiful resort. It has large pools a beautiful tropical garden and lovely rooms. Pool access rooms are very nice and the convienience is worth the extra $. The beach front cottages are modern and offer stunning views of the ocean and you can hear the waves from your room. I had a slight problem with noise from construction near my room but after speaking with management they sorted this out straight away. It’s only a 10 minutes drive from Patong beach and the hotel does offer a limited number of shuttles into town. They have an on-site massage spa and cooking classes. There are also activities through out the day, and you can rent snorkels to check out the beach life underwater. I would definitely recommend the Thavorn Beach Resort to anyone wanting a beautiful and relaxing resort stay!
I loved my time at Thavorn. It is a beautifully laid out resort with an interesting pool design. Some of my highlights were: patio leading out directly onto pool (through private gate), monitor lizard that I saw twice during my 2 day stay, met some lovely people, beautiful garden areas, sweet, wild rabbit, excellent Mai Tai's, huge room and bathroom, with choice of spa bath or shower, great variety of breakfast choices, excellent views inside and out - could see the pool and the sea from where I was Downsides: every time I ventured out to the sea, the rocks/reef were covered with water so had to wade far out through that to get to a spot where I could float/swim - a bit challenging although it does mention the tides and the rocks on their website so I was aware of this; offers THB 150 discount if cleaners skip cleaning room for a day, but on checkout was told it was a voucher offered (which I couldn't use as I was leaving) not cash, so was a bit irritated by that.
Pictures as advertised completely different than room in reality”
If I could attach a picture for comparison I would, as it would speak for itself and a written review would not be needed. We booked this resort solely for the nice, bright, unique space that they advertise as the bathroom for the “beach cottage”. It looked like an inviting space I’d enjoy spending time in. After checking in and going to the room, it was exactly the opposite. The bathroom looked nothing like the pictures online. There was no skylight on the ceiling, as shown in the pictures, the entire thing was a cheap piece of plywood that blocked out all of the light except for a thin space around the top. There were no white accents in the walls, the whole thing was a depressing shade of prison-grey made worse by the lack of light. The sink and counter holding it were entirely different than pictured, as was the mirror which was half the size of the one online. There were zero candles or plants in the actual bathroom, contributing to the very jail cell-like feeling the space emanated. In fact, there was nothing at all in the room except the sink, shower, and towel rail. Every beach cottage we saw had this dreary old piece of wood for a ceiling. I do not believe the picture on their website exists anywhere on the property. The dim bathroom also severely affected the overall brightness of the main room itself, and it too was much darker than advertised. Our “king” bed was also two beds pushed together with a large unavoidable crack down the middle, and two duvet covers that overlapped right where one would be sleeping. Lastly, the “cottage” we had was connected to another room (hardly a cottage) by a very thin wall and old set of doors. We could easily hear every conversation had in the opposing room as well as their tv on late at night. The resort was clean overall and well-located, but the complete lie that is their beach cottage, along with other minor issues with food, bugs, and staff professionalism, prevents me from recommending that anyone ever stay here.
Below Expectation ”
The resort was great as the environment and facilities was superb. However the cleanliness of the room has to improve and it seems to be alittle old. I checked-in the hillside room but my room door was unable to lock (later resolved with the hotel management), the bathtub and jacuzzi in room was not clean even after i requested for housecleaning. (I expected better service quality in a 5 star resort) Overall the stay was good, the staff are super friendly and helpful.
Stay was enjoyable and great!”
We enjoyed our stay at the resort. The staff were detailed, great and smiley. The location was ideal for us to move around. We booked a car so the free parking was useful during our stay. The bathroom was amazing!
Peace and serene ”
Our stay was perfect.except for the murky water of the swimming pool.but considering the place was just got flooded few weeks back.i think the hotel has done a good job in their effort to give the best to customer.all in all i really enjoyed my stay.same goes to my precious little kiddos.one thing special in thavorn is their super duper friendly staff and they were really helpful and thoughtful as well.especially front desk officer May.
Great hotel, value for money”
The room is spacious and clean. The staff were helpful and polite. The pool was nice and clean. Plenty to choose for breakfast and for dine-in the price is reasonable too. Overall great hotel and great experience.
If you want to have a sleepless night stay there!”
Poor dated not clean rooms of low quality design and finish, crazy noise from Paradise beach party half night, sewage smell in the bathroom, noisy old leaking aircon, overpriced restaurant, Philippino staff, not a hint of Thai hospitality, you don’t feel welcomed, poor unprofessional long check in process, overcrowded breakfast with no place to sit and people eating standing and holding plates in their hands with staff doing nothing to find a solution. It’s a shame that a hotel in such a nice location on private beach with a view on Patong, beautiful gardens and pools is completely spoilt by staff and bad quality rooms and unbearable night party noise with your bed almost moving like sleeping in the middle of full moon party. I’d not stay there again and would never recommend it to anyone.
Awesome memories... ”
The hotel location and facilities are excellent and we enjoyed our trip over there. We were at the beach cottages and the view was just awesome. Spa facilities and Thai massage are also awesome.
beautiful private beach, nice breakfast buffet, unique experience with my kid, nice view from the room
Wished I had known prior”
The resort is asthetically beautiful. The biggest free form pool in Asia BUT there is nothing to do at night, The resort has very hit and miss internet, no games rooms no pool table to bars no internet cafe - no music or events no shows. No movie channel intermittent TV and after dinner that is it there is nothing unless you go to Patong 15 mins away every night. Very few Australians mostly Russian and Chinese and they do not mix with anyone else. Very very quiet resort - not good for teenagers. We truly loved Centara Grand and would stay there again but not Thavorn, it is for honeymooners and families with kids under 5 who go to bed at 7.30pm and swim all day.
