The Himalayan Hotel
Bad management ”
No central heating ,problem with electricity,we slept in warm jacket. this is a very pity that own don't think about a BIG RESPONSIBILITY for all HUMANITY keep this Fantastic Heritage House in good condition . This is was a best hotel in Kalimpong for 100-50 years ago and a lot of Top people from all the world lived here But now we felt pain in the heart that hotel a really need a big renorvation! I hope own for hotel think about it and will be improve a lot this amazine propertyor will be consider sell it for People who can take care about this property.
Definitely not a value for money”
It was wonderful but i would recommend it to people who appreciate the peace and beauty of heritage hotels. It is not for those who will shatter its beauty with noise and commotion. Staff was very co-operative and service excellent
When I arrived, I was told that they didn't have my reservation on file. Fortunately, they had a room available and I paid by credit card. After I informed Agoda of my reservation not being on file, Agoda called the hotel and was told their internet was down and, therefore couldn't check for the reservation. However, I accessed the Internet easily and the reception individual said "this is a foreign firm" (that is, Agoda is not Indian). Also, I spent a month in several parts of India and had no trouble with the food anywhere - except at the Himalyan where I was served an Indian dinner (no choice of fare given me). Not sure I would go back although I did enjoy the views from my room + the adjoining small balcony.
nice relaxing stay”
good ,relaxing, good service and food,a hotel to recommand with a lot of atmosphere
The hotel was spacious, nice grounds, quiet & comf”
Was according to expectations, comfortable and quiet. The staff were helpful including the restaurant staff. The beer was cold.
Be a little adventurous - the hotel is not 5 star, but has a lovely location and provides wholesome themed dinners. Towels were a little grey, the bathroom wasn't modern, but the room was perfectly comfortable and we did enjoy our stay. There really isn't an awful lot to see or do in Kalimpong, but if you are passing through we would recommend this hotel.
Cozy and unique hotel w/ a rare touch of antiquity”
Came with my parents and fiance. Stayed in the winter season, so everything was pretty cool, but the working fireplaces in the rooms and hot water bags provided by the room service were wonderful! Great view of the mountains, and the town is easily accessible, yet removed enough to make this a very relaxed location.
Great location ( in a flowered and quiet garden), ”
Hotel Himalaya is a paradise of quiet, the colonial style of building is beautiful, the front garden is full of coloured flowers, our room was big and clean, we had the access to a big wooden terrace on our floor just uotside our room. We had breakfast and dinner including in our rate and both were a lot and good. We really enjoyed our stay in Himalaya Hotel.
