            Once in your life ...”

... do yourself a favor and stay in a place like this! However, if you do it outside India, be prepared to pay through the nose. The Laxmi Niwas made us (sister and me) feel like returning royalty!! We were greeted like long-overdue friends, and shown to a room that we could have roller-skated in, with magnificent rooftop views from our private chattri-topped verandah. The dinner in the courtyard was terrific, and the ambience was from another era. It was a wonderful stay!

            Staying in and authentic palace”

Wonderful place with a lot of charm and sandstone elements all over the place. They have traditional musicians in the evening and during breakfast. We got two wonderfully located rooms at the roof with a great view and an own veranda for sitting outside. We also joined a wonderful charming Christmas dinner in the beautiful garden.

            Great place with unnecessary bugs”

The palace is simply fantastic! Picturesque, beautiful, full of hunting history, simply a fairytale! The basic room offer is a fake: statingbyiu will receive a king bed and a single bed: you end up in a tiny something, which has one bed only, NO WINDOW and height just 2m: unbelievable and ugly. We arrived after a looongbtril Fro Jeisalmer at 4 in the morning and the experience that we made with the unfriendly and rude receptionist Mr Sing was so terrible that if it was not 4AM, I would immediately leave. So: the facility is great, but lie andninfriendly staff make the fairytale experience to be really evil...

            A royal experience”

location, palace experience, the dining courtyard

A royal experience, the room was quite large, a little dark no natural light but this would be wonderful in full summer when the heat is unbearable. Obviously this is the reason for the design, comfort in summer. The food was really good and sitting in that courtyard was delightful. The staff were attentative without being intrusive. This is not for everyone certainly if modern hotels are preferred but it would be missing out on a unique experience.

            the evening dance performance

Beautiful building but terrible rooms with tired, dusty, mismatched furniture, terrible stained carpet not vacuumed. Not worth what you pay. Terrible breakfast and breakfast room decor. One just wants to dash in and out very quickly. The staff though are so polite and pleasant. We met with the manager at checking out and pointed out our grievances, all the staff were there too, he didn't have a word to say. Worst hotel on my entire tour of Rajasthan.

Old nice hotel. Not so comfortable. Bit thenroom itself is big, Ac is very rumorous tipically old heritage hotel in rajasthan. Buffet seemed like nice after no choice of long travel mandawa, bit my husband got sick after eating one chicken here, seriousely for three days in jaisalmer We could suggestbto go suriyagarh in jaisalmer the family hotel of this, Exellent and modern with same touch of elegance. Not comparable with this. Visit agoda to have the good tariff.

Location, Heritage Hotel, Enormous rooms, nice pool

We stayed late June - so the off season as it is very very hot then. There were very few guests so it was very quiet and the rooms very quite heavily discounted. The rooms we had were huge with double height ceilings and the furnishings were lovely. Because the place is fortified there is a metre or so between the external walls and the internal walls so there were no windows as such and therefore no natural light. The restaurant prices were way over the top and the free breakfast was very basic.

Huge rooms. Living in a palace.

We loved the hotel. It was the King's palace converted into a hotel. The bar and games room were full of hunting trophies. The walls were covered with old photos and painting. Some of the furniture was antique. The only problem was when my wife had her shower there was no hot water. The hot water was there when I showered. Service was excellent. Location is great and the gardens were nice. Lots of peacocks.
