"staying in Orchha resort is just like heaven, a closed place..."
October 22, 2016
The Orchha Resort combines beautiful architecture with elegant minimalism. Here, guests will be exposed to Indian tradition and culture through the styling used throughout the hotel from the design of the beds to the types of desks used. The marble floors really add a sense of class and display the local craftsmanship abilities. The Kaleva restaurant, located on-site, allows guests to sample traditional Indian food in a great setting. Located nearby are various tourist attractions that will allow guests to get a greater feel for the area and for its history.

Excellent hotel in wonderful location. ”
Excellent stay. The staff went above and beyond to be accommodating and to ensure my stay was pleasant. The location is perfect both for seeing the famous places in Orchha and for relaxing by the pool.
We loved staying in the tents, was a unique way to spend a few nights. rooms was spotlessly and well organised! The food in the restaurant was very expensive and not great for the price, I would recommend walking 5 mins to town for a much better meal at 1/3rd of the cost. The swimming pool is a nice area to relax, however, the pool could be warmer as it leaves you a little breathless when you jump in. Overall I would recommend the tents at Orchha Resort!
lovely hotel but small things gone wrong”
It is a beautiful property to look at from the outside and the view of the cenotaphs from the property is also amazing. It is very well located and is within walking distance of all the sights of Orchha though that is not much of a competitive advantage since all luxury hotels in Orchha are similarly located. As you enter the reception keeps up the feel though it is at times unstaffed and one has to wait for the receptionist to come out. This was made up for by the fact that the Resident Director of the resort Mr.Khullar himself chose to be present to welcome most guests.. The room though let us down.Firstly it was smaller than most standard hotel rooms and our room opened on to a tiny lawn and then on to a blank wall. Insist on pool facing rooms as only they have a proper view. The biggest factor leading to a downmarket feel in the room is the absence of lcd tv sets.Every room has an old fashioned and the viewing experience was certainly below par. The toilet was decent sized though the washbasin would not drain out fast enough leading to a slightly unhygienic feeling when brushing ones teeth. The buffet dinner and breakfast were both with a wide enough range and fairly nice food. The buffet at dinner plus taxes per person but on seeing that we were not partaking of it at that price it was brought down incl. tax. Though it was nice to get a price lower than quoted it was an uncomfortable feeling to know that rates were flexible leading one to believe that maybe room rates could have been similarly haggled down too.The two plates of rice and a single plate of daal at only slightly less than the price of the buffet the next night seemed overpriced and it would be wise to prefer the buffet over the ala carte menu. While leaving the receptionist fixed up cab for us to go to Khajuraho -but added Rs.250 at the last moment claiming a tax which was not paid anywhere and surely pocketed the difference
Great location and good value for money”
Great location next to the river, good breakfast, nice swimming pool. Good value for money especially if you stay in one of the tents. We made a reservation for a tent but upon arrival we were told that these were fully booked so they offered us a room instead. We didn't agree to this because the tents are much nicer and cosier than the rooms. After insisting they gave us a tent after all, but not without an ugly face from the receptionist.
Excellent location. Early morning high volume disturbance. ”
Excellent location, on the river Betwa bank. Early morning high volume disturbance from near by ghats. Reception staff not friendly, unwelcoming to Agoda booking. Restaurant staff was friendly. Otherwise, good property with regular rooms as well as tented accommodation. Pool water was dirty.
Best Resort in Orchha”
I never got this kind of deal before. The Best Hotel in Orchha. Neat and clean, superb views.
The place is nice, rooms are spacious and clean. The pool water wasn’t very clean and staff said it was because of the rains. Restaurant has limited option, but the food is nice and staff is helpful.
Location couldn’t be better check in couldn’t be worse!”
Worth staying for the location right opposite the beautiful cenotaphs on the river. But be prepared to be grunted at and have your key just thrown on the counter in front of you when you check in! Possibly the rudest check in staff I’ve ever encountered. WiFi only works in reception and the pool could be cleaner.
Nice location n ambience...superb resort with an awesome restaurant food”
Nice resort Fantastic lobby Nice n comfortable room A beautifull pool area with a beautiful sitting area n adjacent to betwa river.. Restaurant food was AWESOME... Staff very helpfull... Just one complain....there should be someone in the staff to watch over in the swimming pool area when there r kids playing...any mishaps can happen anytime...dont you think the same... Otherwise A COMPLETE 10/10 I MUST GIVE TO THE PROPERTY.. JAI " RAJA RAM SARKAAR " JI KI ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😇
Stunning and Sublime”
Astoundingly beautiful, no expense was spared when they built this place. The floors in the rooms and in the lobby are inlaid with marble designs, petra dura, using the same lineage of workers who built the Taj Mahal. The walls throughout are lined with Krishna miniature paintings. The pool is shaped like a lotus flower. The breakfast is well-done too.
A great place to stay in Orchha”
Ideal location next to the Betwa river and chhattris – within walking distance of all the major sights except the Lakshmi Narayan temple (a short auto ride from the hotel). Good size room, clean and comfortable with effective A/C and plenty of hot water. Friendly staff, both on the reception desk and in the restaurant. Food OK – entirely vegetarian apart from eggs; buffet available when tour parties staying at hotel, otherwise a la carte. Swimming pool great for cooling off after sight-seeing. Overall, very good value for money – recommended.
Reasonably priced ! Nice experience !”
Rooms not lavish but neat n clean. Required Minimal facilities were provided. Swimming pool was clean n pool side is nice. Food n serving staff was good. Main purpose to visit was to relax n it was served due to quite n peaceful location.
The room had windows to the hotel's backyard. The room smelled suffocating. We really lacked if there was a balcony. Good breakfast. Lovely garden. Good . service The hotel does not have an internet reception, not even with a local SIM. There is no wifi service in the rooms, so the only connection with the world must be done in the lobby.
Homely stay with touch of luxury”
The resort is placed right on the banks of Betwa river. Well within walking diatance of all sites in Orchha. Cenotaphs in moonlight form part of the landscape here and take you right into the medieval times. Staff is very warm, welcoming and courtetious. No need to think of any other place in Orchha.
This place is at perfect river side location. Swimming pool is very neat. Feels being at personal. ”
Cons. 1.Only vegetarian food at restaurant 2.Pool's bathroom water supply at men's toilet poor needs immediate attention 3. Table tennis location disturbing for rooms in that area. Table old. 4. No wifi in Rooms. Only in common lobby and speed slow. 5. Credit Card machine mostly performs poorly. Needs proper connectivity. 6. Driver's lounge poor arrangements. 7. Rooms wall for example no 102 need maintaining regularly. 8. No good Bar arrangements. Only few INDIAN whisky and beer. 9. Few Rooms only. Most times difficult to get booking. 10. Restaurant air-conditioning needs more cooling Pros. 1. Beautiful location. 2. Very courteous staff. 3. Nice pool. 4. Clean tidy arranged most of Rooms. 5. All visiting places at walking distance. 6. Food quality good. Needs more choices. 7. Overall good place to stay. Its truly only a three star hotel.
Ok resort, poor service”
The resort itself is average, the front desk staff though where disinterested to put it mildly. Having booked a tent I was informed it wasn't practical in the April heat, I was then asked for 500 rupee for an early check-in, I declined and came back later. When I came back the new guy, started again about the tent being to warm, but he wanted 500 rupee extra a night, I refused and he gave me a room at no charge. WiFi wasn't working until my last night, when I queried when I would be fixed I just got a shrug. Breakfast is adequate in the morning. Pool has very little shade especially from mid day until early afternoon. It's about a 10-15 min walk to the town centre. Average hotel, front desk staff poor, I'd look elsewhere unless you get a good deal.
Very nice stay”
The booked room (a standard one) was very nice, big enough, comfortable and well-furnished. Bathroom was also very nice and spacious. The resort itself is beautiful and very clean. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. My only suggestion goes to the wifi connection, only available from reception's room : would be great to enjoy it from the bedrooms.
A very good place, missing few bits to.become an excellent place ”
Pros.. Helpful and courteous Staff Good clean rooms on well maintained property Excellent Location Food at Restaurant was good (quality and taste) and excellent choices for breakfast Cons - Internet only at lobby (and phone connection failed..so I had to settle bill in cash) - Restaurant predominantly vegetarian (only egg available as non-vegetarian item). - few rooms like ours have blocked views and passage to rooms not really fun. - Party on the resort premise could be loud, and uncomfortable for guests who are forced to wait at lobby for internet Otherwise a very good experience, considering mid range price tag. Definitely a place where a family can stay.
The Orchha Resort”
The Orchha Resort is not luxurious but is clean, good value for money, well located near the river and cenotaphs, and a short walk from the village center. The breakfast was fine and the staff helpful.
Very good hotel”
Orchha resort has excellent location. Very nicely maintained swimming pool. Good service and decent food. Breakfast is very good. Flip side is they don't have only egg as non-vegeterian in their buffet.
