    Exceptional”

This was a beautiful hotel with a large, very clean duplex room. All staff were exceptional and check-in/out was a breeze although, it's not a large front desk. The hotel was set up nicely for Christmas activities with a visit from Santa on Christmas Eve. The location was fine but a bit of a walk to some of the sights, although very close to good restaurants. I would stay here again if returning to Beijing.

The suite was reasonably spacious as compared to most presidential suites, and had its own sound proof movie room. The living room, however, was relatively a little smaller than what would have been ideal.

    Problem about my booking ”

I was already booking and payment around 2 months before i arrived to hotel (Beijing Suite type) We were arrived to hotel around 9 pm and then reception staff (Ms. Joy Zhao) said to me and family that we were false in booking with Agoda agent then they said we need to downgrade my room to standard room. And force to me contact with Agoda agent directly. OMG !!! no any help and idea for professional solve of this problem from her .Why they not offer a different room in same class to us and handle with this problem by hotel staff? I pay for suite room, NOT STANDARD ROOM !!! But after we are forceful talk and had some argument each other so she would call someone to help us. At that time we are so tried and wait for my room around 30 mins so I don’t think this is a professional solve of this problem. If at the moment we were already check out , i would like to leave some complaints to your staff of Peninsula Beijing service was very bad . By the way i am so surprising no complimentary fruits or anything for suite room , we requested for an ice bucket for champagne but housekeeping give a very old plastic bucket to us but not for hold champagne.VERY SURPRISED !!

    Excellent Hotel in Beijing”

We spent 6 nights in Beijing Peninsula and had a wonderful time. All rooms are suites and we had plenty of space to move around. The location is in Wangfujing where you can shop and eat till late. APM is just 8min walk away and the famous duck restaurant DaDong is 5min walk from the hotel. All staff are very polite and welcoming. You will not be disappointed with Peninsula's hospitality.

Excellent western style hotel right in downtown Beijing. Close to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and other highlights. Excellent onsite restaurant, especially for breakfast. Large buffet. Lots of western style choices.

    Great room and wonderful location”

    Convenient, Great Service, Cleanliness

It was the perfect base to explore the Forbidden City for a brief stop. The room size was quite reasonable when you're expecting large American sized rooms. Nice gym in the hotel and located in the midst of a very substantial shopping district. I will definitely be back during my next visit to Beijing.

Location close to forbidden city, nice rooms

As one would expect from Peninsula, excellent hotel at a very centric loaction close to major attractions. It took more than 15 minutes for the check-in process, by far too long for this category. Rooms are good, but not exceptional

Fantastic. A luxury oasis in the busiest of cities”

Comfy bed, decadent lobby/entrance, fantastic staff.

My first Peninsula experience and definitely one to remember. The staff speak excellent English (a welcome sign in China), the location is brilliant for whatever you could want to do in Beijing, and the hotel gives you a sense of luxury from the moment you enter (especially as you walk past the two Rolls Royce's parked out the front!). I stayed in the most basic of their rooms and yes, these are somewhat dated but they are still more than adequate. I had a great nights sleep here. Room service is very expensive, so best to take advantage of the hotel's 2 restaurants or the many in the surrounding area. The hotel has a well appointed lobby bar, a great place to have a beer and unwind after a busy day in the capital.

    Fine hotel, but nothing special”

Location, free internet, good room service

My stay at the Peninsula was fine, but because of the brand's reputation, I was expecting something more, maybe that's not fair. The room service was very good. They were willing to make me something not on the menu. Housekeeping was vacuuming outside my door at 8am, which I thought was a bit early. I had a little trouble with the internet, which was intermittent during my stay. I'm not sure I'd stay here again as there are many five-star hotels in Beijing & there was not enough at the Peninsula to make me feel like I should stay here again.

    The best in Beijing”

Everything. Staff, location, dining, and more.

As far as I'm concerned, this is hands-down the best hotel in Beijing. Doesn't matter what you're in town for, this place has it all. I know Beijing has a lot of wonderful local food to offer, not in the least at the street food vendor section right around the corner from here, but don't miss out on their restaurants. They're some of the best in the whole city. Same goes for the room service! It's incredible! Also, the level of service from the staff here is just out of this world. They all speak fluent, flawless English and they will help you accomplish anything during your stay. Staying here is WORTH IT.

Flexible check in and check out. Friendly staff. Excellent location

The staff is extremely friendly. Although we arrived at 10am, we were allowed to check in without having to wait. Even the check out time, it was very flexible. We were allowed to stay on until 2pm without any hassles. The hotel is also centrally located. It is within walking distance to the famous Wangfujing Street. The hotel is also close to the sub-way stations. It was a joy to be able to move freely without having to waste so much time. I would strongly recommend this hotel to any of my friends going to Beijing.

    superb hotel with good service”

luxury hotel, good staff and centrally located

Hotel is superb, it should be for a 5 start or 6 start hotel. It's centrally located near Wangfujing, so you can visit touristy areas like Tiananmen, the Summer Garden etc. The area also has quite a lot of shopping around, both luxury types and more local. The hotel is convenient to get to most areas, although this is Beijing and if you need to get to anything outside the 2nd ring road, it's going to be traffic and traffic. Most businesses are not that far, so it is great. Not sure about public transport as I don't trust the system there. Subway should be OK if you can read Chinese and know where you want to go. Forget about buses. Staff is very attentive and friendly, what you'd expect from a 5-6* hotel. Service is excellent. I had a good special rate so the stay was well worth it. The other that you must try if you like luxury hotel is the Grand Hyatt, also in Wangfujing.

Excellent Hotel near the Forbidden City”

    clean and comfortable

the peninsula is the place to stay in beijing. it is only a few blocks from beijing's major attractions... tiananmen square and the forbidden city. you can get a ride in the rolls royce they park in front... for a hefty price. the rooms are large and nicely appointed with great views of the city. high end stores are located on the main and basement floors with a convenient atm for converting to local yuan currency. my only negative is the hotel's restaurant is very expensive...the buffet cost 800yaun for two... and the service staff was not attentive. try the restaruant across the street for a good sampling of local cuisine.

Great hotel in a strategic location”

Few steps from the subway station, Wangfujing shopping area and other places of interest.

We had a lot of expectations about this hotel and truly it did not disappoint us. When we checked in, we were told that we were upgraded and the front desk staff even went out of her way to accompany us into our room to check that everything is alright. The room size is just right for us and the beddings and bathroom are just perfect. Breakfast for the three days were great, staff at the buffet breakfast (Jing) were attentive and some knows fluent English. Its a good thing I brought with me my smart phone that has a translator (its a must!) so even if they can't understand some things I requested in English, I could blurt out in simple Chinese words through my translator. The only downside of the breakfast is that in the three days, the food choices are almost the same. The hotel is very near the subway station, particularly Dengshikuo station. It is also near the Wangfujing shopping district and near the exotic street food area. A few more blocks are places of interests such as Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Great Hall of the People. Overall, our first time in Beijing was very memorable and a great part of it was the hotel experience.
