Hotel as described”
Close to public transport. No street noise at all. Large rooms, very clean. Hotel has good facilities - food dining options / public / private onsens. Could leave bags there on checkout to further explore area before collecting bags at end of day. Staff were very good / polite and helpful. Would recommend!
Some issues for dinner choice”
overall the stay at the hotel was very pleasant, however be aware that when you booked via Agoda, you may not have a choice of dinner (we were given french dinner instead of japanese dinner by default), however the manager acknowledged the issue and made steps to make our stay pleasant
Very close to Hakone-Yumoto station, where you can board the RomanceCar or Hakone-Tozan train, and bus station with buses going to Gotemba Premium Outlet and various tourist destination, probably only 3 min away. They provide a free smartphone in the room with wifi capabilities for you to use on your day trips. Spacious room and about 2 pillows and 1 cushion pillow for each person. The nearest convenience store, 7-11, is probably about 10 min walk away, although there are other shops near the train station. Not as scenic as if you stay near Ashi lake but it is a good base as you don't have to lug around your suitcases on the bus. And the bus can get pretty crowded.
Good and will be booked again in future”
Staff is nice. The spa is good which have 4 for men and 3 for women. The reservation for family spa is easy and cheap. The tatami is comfortable and you can find the housekeeper to help you set up the tatami. The dinner is tasty. Very good hotel
Great Location, Excellent Onsen & room!”
Had the opportunity to stay here in Yumoto Fujiya with my family during our visit to Hakone. We chose the Annex Room ( Futon Style sleeping arrangement ). Initially we were worried about hard floors, uncomfortable beddings and small and cramped place that we might have to spend the night. However, when we entered into the room, we were stunned with the immense amount of space we could carry for all 5 of our big luggage around the room and there were stilll space for all the futons to be laid out nicely and plenty of turning area ( for those who move around alot when they sleep ) Futons were super comfortable and we all knocked out pretty soundly after our relaxing soak in the Onsen within the hotel premises. We also opted for the dinner and breakfast inclusion for our hotel stay and the food that was provided was great and excellent! Not forgetting the proximity of the station to the hotel, Yumoto Fujiya is definitely a place i would recommend anyone who is looking for a place !
I traveled with my 62 year old mom and my younger sister. Yumoto Fujiya hotel was right next to the station which is very convenient. By the station there's bus that cost 860 yen to owakudani to see the Mt. Fuji. Lucky for us it was sunny and bright and we decided to give owakudani a shot. Once we got off the bus the Mt. Fuji was right there! It was cold and we went back to the hotel and the hot spring was just right there for us to enjoy. Bed was comfortable and clean. There is fridge, electric kettle and free smart phone in the room. If you booked a room you can reserve the private onsen/hot spring for only 1000 yen. The sign was in Japanese only but we overheard someone made a reservation and I made a reservation after that person. The private onsen was not mention when I checked in. There are some beautiful cherry blossom out of the hotel and the best spot to take pictures of the cherry blossom is the second floor. Overall it was nice and relaxing.
Great location ”
Really close to the rail station so easy to wheel cases across the road to their entrance . No coffee in rooms and none available from reception do pack a small supply if you are addicted like myself . Breakfast usual for Japanese hotels with a varied choice . Evening meal the French was very nice and Chinese was ok of course all personal choice . We were unable to book the Hapanese due to high demand so I would recommend booking ahead . Smart phone really useful if exploring .
Superb location, just walking distance from the station.
Good service of staff ”
The staff give me a free trip to kawaguchico station even after the picking up time. He is so friendly and kind to us. I feel appreciate for no need pulling the language and walking under the hot sun to the station. Once again. Thank you very much. Anyway, the air conditioning is not well functioned in the room. Not cold at all.
Great location, but expect to pay in-house dining fees”
I wanted to spend a bit longer in Hakone and find a comfortable, well located onsen hotel. The Yumoto manages to do that very well. While I had picked a cheap room (with no view and unable to look out the window), the short walk from the strain station was ideal. Check-in/out was good/easy and the facilities pretty good. Value for moeny only relates to the room, nothing else. Part of the reason for the visit was to check nearby places to eat as I was not keen (and many people are not keen) to pay double a reasonable rate for meals in a hotel. Well, as a tourist town, this place is a trap - most of the restaurants close at night, so eat-in. It might be part of the Japanese domestic tourism market and how the hotels around Hakone work, but I didn't like feeling captive - so the second night I went to Odawara for dinner.
Nice for family”
We were there with Hakone-Fuji Pass. Hotel is extreamly beautiful and easy to find. It was very close to the train station. Faced some problem to find the walk way to Lobby.(The elevator is quite hard to find) Room was very nice. Lucky us that we got upgrade room without charges. Reception spoke English very well.
Will definitely stay here again”
pleasant stay, glad we chose this hotel. It is very close to station, much better than most hotels which you might need to take the Torzan and travelled further. Meals can be arranged,7-11 about 200m away, awesome and affordable private spas in hotel. Big and spacious room, clean and bright. Nothing to fault, will stay here again.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent location with great transport connections to other parts of Hakone. spacious and clean room Public onsen available in hotel love the river flow outside the hotel. private lift to hotel without climbing up the slope. location is excellent as just opposite the Yumoto Hakone Station Lots of shops and dining near hotel. visitor information located just outside the hotel. Wifi is available only in the lobby.
Huge hotel with great onsen!!!”
The stay was awesome and relaxing! Although we only stayed there for one night, the experience couldn't be better! The onsen was huge and has both indoor and outdoor.. There are at least 4 restaurants offering different cuisine in the hotel and the room was so spacious! I had been to Japan before and the rooms are most tiny with a scarily tiny toilet. This hotel however, has a really nice spacious room for even 3 persons to sleep comfortably. The bath room even has a bathtub which is a nice surprise. The staff were really friendly and nice. The hotel is a walking distance to the train station which was important for us as we had to carry a lot of luggages travelling around Japan. I love this hotel and will definitely go back if I visit Hakone again!
Lovely hotel at great location”
Enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I had a great deal booking from this site, the room was huge for three with a part for two huge single beds and another part big enough for two tatami beds. It was big enough even when we requested to add a fourth person in the room. Our room came with a big balcony which over look the mountain and the train track in the distance. My photos look great. I think the best part of this hotel is. It is right across the bridge from the train station. I seriously think it would otherwise be horrible to pull the luggages through the inclined road to reach other hotels in the other area. I think if it is further away , one may have to take cab to reach the others Onsen was great, big enough. Although it is open to the public , but it did feel exclusive and of cos great breakfast too.
Room size is small to put 3 bed. It is better for 1 double and add 1 bed”
Overall is good and Toyota car rental service.
The hotel workers' attitude was a joke.”
While all other things were just okay, the receptionist gave me a pamphlet about the hotel written in Chinese. I didn't think it was a huge problem because it might have been a mistake. However, even after I let him know that I'm from Korea, he did not apologize for his mistake. I was much offended and won't visit this hotel again.
Great stay and a free to use smartphone”
Everything you expect for a high class hotel. Very near the station. Just drop your luggage then go around hakone. Check in when you return and enjoy the onsen. You can also take a walk outside the hotel and view the scenery. A big plus is they offer the free use of a smartphone during your stay. It has internet and can really help guide you around or keep you entertained in your room. You can take it out but must be returned when you check out. All data will be erased when you check out. Overall a great experience.
I am so glad that I have chosen this hotel as the location is super excellent. It is only 3 mins walk from the train station. The room is also very clean and spacious. Hotel facilities are good. Staff are helpful. Hot spring also very nice
Hotel with great location and great service.”
This hotel is located in the heart of Hakone, very near to train station, bus stop, shops and restaurant. We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children, room is very clean and spacious. Our stay includes dinner and breakfast, the food quality was superb. Great service from the staff at the restaurant and reception. The only thing is breakfast time is too short, until 9am only, so for family with kids could be a bit rush in the morning to catch the breakfast schedule
