Only a 20-minute drive from the Ngurah Rai Airport and downtown Denpasar, Abian Biu Mansion offers more than a place to sleep as all guestrooms are luxuriously furnished with traditional Javanese materials such as classic Balinese cloth and antique glass paintings depicting ancient local life and culture. Well-equipped, the rooms come with a private balcony, flat screen TV and cable channel, mini bar, tea and coffee maker, and sofa. A real holiday sanctuary, guests will enjoy total rejuvenation at the resort spa and sauna where traditional herbs once reserved for the Javanese royal court are used. For a unique dining experience, the restaurant, set in candlelight with traditional lanterns, serves various mouthwatering dishes in genuine Balinese style. The Bian Yue restaurant serves a variety of Chinese Peranakan dishes as well. Worst experience ever / pengalaman terburuk”
I can’t give feedback as I never stayed at this hotel. Yep they moved me to another sister’s hotel with lower price even after I already booked and paid the fee for this hotel. I chose this hotel because it’s located near Seminyak but then I needed to change my hotel to Denpasar which is far from Seminyak. They said it’s not their fault but Agoda. Then I asked them to follow up but they’re not being cooperative. So I took an action and called Agoda but no response as well. It was new year eve at that time and all nearby hotels were full. When I asked them to give us refund, the receptionist only gave me her boss’ number. I called the boss but he didn’t answer. So i text him and ask for their responsibility but he told me to called Agoda again. I was tired and eventually stayed at their sister hotel in Denpasar. I don’t know whose fault it is but both Agoda and Abian Biu Mansion are not really good at handling this problem. Shame! 👎👎👎
Awesome boutique hotel”
Great place. Rented scooter and roamed around the town. Had a great time Fredh breakfast. Staff very courteous. Rooms are nice. Ambience of hotel is superb. Had a lovely time
Once beautiful, now neglected & terribly renovated”
I stayed here in 2010 and it was lovely. This time was a huge dissapontment, rooms have been renovated without even a hook for the hand shower, our air con smelt of dust all night, the pool has been neglected & there are now horrible concrete buildings where lush gardens used to be. Do NOT STAY HERE!!!
Beautiful small hotel”
Was very nice to staying at the Abian Biu Mansion.
Quiet, Clean, Modern, Friendly staff. Just AMAZING”
The hotel has a very quiet athmosphere and offers you the feeling of not being in a hotel, it's like a Mension, you feel like home. It's still close to KUDETA Beacch and other facilities and relevant spots on the island. The room is nice, big enough. The swimming pool is absolutely fantastic, just great to feel refreshed and activate your muscles in the morning . We loved our stay at Abian Biu Mansion and we will definitely come again!!!
dirty dirty no service, no hot water, no no dont go here.
my stay at Abian Biu Mansion”
for what i paid for i got!, the bed was comfortable but the room its self was not the best. the shower has no bracket for the shower head so in order to shower you had to hold the shower head above you. not ideal. the room smelt of mould and the hotel is not staffed 24 hours.
I didn't... Terrible just by looking at it ”
I'd like to say I booked this hotel as I was informed it to be close to my brothers accommodation. Which was who I was travelling with. Also adding to my nerves, I asked 3 taxi drivers to take me there, 1 refused that made me question it's location and the other 2 didn't Know where it was and one of them asked me If I was sure if I wanted to stay there. Their rep obviously isn't great. I forfeited my accommodation and looked for something else . I apologise but I can only be honest
Worst Place ever been, dont go there”
Room: Bedcover never got changed in 2 weeks. We had to tell staff first before they would change it. Curtains broken and wouldnt be fixed. Staff: Cant call that Staff at all if we dont tell them to do they wouldnt have done anything in those days. Hotel: Location is ok and thats about only positive thing i can say about our stay. Food: For about 60 usd/day (50% discount in agoda)so for actual price of 120usd/day and only offering Mie or Nasi Goreng for Breakfast is insufficient, on top even those simple meals they either added too much salt or terasi. Condition of Hotel in general it aint look as in pictures Summary: dont waste your money in this hotel. There are far better places arround then this place for less money and i can assure you far better service aswell. Sadly i couldnt ask my money back as it was a special offer.
Charming little hotel near Seminyak”
I have stayed in this hotel several times and each time I have found that it has met or exceeded my expectations. I travel a great deal for work, staying in much more expensive 4 to 5 star hotels but I prefer Abian Biu over many of them. It has charm and character while still providing a high level of service that one would normally only expect from a hotel 5 times more expensive. Location-wise, it's in a great area just north of Seminyak, but it does mean taking taxis to get to most restaurants etc... Breakfast was good, but there were a couple of minor issues like the staff on duty did not know how to use the espresso machine (a problem for addicts like me). There is a lovely little swimming pool, but not much else in the way of hotel features - so if you are looking for a resort-style place this is not going to be your cup of tea. This is more like European boutique inn.
Beautiful and peacefuk”
From checking in to checking out, everything went well. The staff were great. Rooms were generous in size. The landscape and deco of the mansion is beautiful. I would say this is a great hidden gem in bali. Will definitely make it to the top of my list for my next trip to bali.
Friendly staff but old hotel”
I would recommend the rooms upstairs viewing the rice and pool field. Hotel is close to the road which can be noisy if you use the rooms on the road side. Staff is really friendly.
Great service but far off.”
Provided excellent service, staff are attentive and will try their best to fulfill your requests. Amenities are provided as stated. It is a very pretty mansion, small (8 rooms only) and cosy. It is ideal for frequent Bali travellers and would like to get away from the bustle of kuta/legian. There is not much to do around the mansion's area, which is situated in Kerobokan and quite far off from the beaches and towns of kuta, legian and seminyak. However, it is peaceful and quiet, the laid back village lifestyle is what you can find here as it is surrounded by paddy fields. If you know the place well, rent their scooters and explore the area for yourself, which is a much cheaper alternative than hiring a taxi each time you wanna head out to town. However, if you do wanna hire taxis, make sure to bargain: 100,000 (to airport), 40,000-50,000 (to kuta/legian/seminyak), 100,000 (to jimbaran). The down side to the mansion was the kettle, which was filthy and we had to ask for a replacement that was also dirty so we ended up stocking up on mineral water instead. The bath taps and toilet flush were not so great but were able to function after we got used to them.
Wonderful retreat ”
stayed in hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay, away from noisy kuta. i had a beautiful room overlooking a flowering tree. staff service was excellent, also when i was not feeling well they were helpful. good shower as well. i had breakfast on my balcony, the food was fresh and customized for me as vegetarian. dinner in the restaurant was also very nice and fresh. location is good, although the road is not exactly attractive and a lot of building goes on, as soon as you take tha path at the rear you are in the middle of the rice fields and you can walk very quietly.
Beautiful, welcoming and sophisticated.”
I had the good fortune to stumble upon this gem of a small but perfectly formed boutique hotel. I had stayed at 3 previous hotels during my travels in Bali, and I can honestly say that this was by far the most welcoming and with fabulous attention to detail. When entering my room I was greeted by the aroma of Balinese flowers from an oil burner that had been lit awaiting my arrival. The mini bar fridge also contained cool face cloths which was also a great touch and most welcome; these little things go a long way to making you feel at home when you are travelling. It had previously been a private home and they worked very hard to ensure that my stay seemed as if I was still in a private residence rather than a hotel. My beautiful room had a kingsize bed with Egyptian cotton sheets and the usual tv a/c etc, a balcony with a table and to have meals if you don't want to go downstairs, overlooking beautiful gardens and the pool. Its worth mentioning the fact that the room had wall sockets next to the bed so I could charge my phone rather than just the usual socket in the bathroom, which I think fills every UK traveller with anxiety every time you have to use an electric appliance in a bathroom! The decor is a hybrid of Balinese and Chinese with blue and white china, carved and stripped wood, priceless antiques and water fountains tinkling everwhere. The owners had travelled a lot and It showed with the level of sophistication in the menus and the wine list. My New Years Eve dinner was absolutely delicious and as I could only manage to eat my starter they arranged for me to have my other 3 courses re-prepared so I could eat it the next day.A really welcome touch as all hotels over the Christmas period charge extra for a compulsory meal whether you eat it or not. Finally a big thank you to my hosts, Hendar and Joseph, and a special mention to Miss D,their marketing manager and troubleshooter! I recomend you to book early and stay as long as you can. Pure bliss.
Nice hotel but not all worked out.”
when we first arrived all was great the rooms weren't huge but big enough for the people staying. three co-workers in a small room i think we knew we would be cramped. we arrived in a room which had no working fridge, the balcony door wouldn't stay closed, and there was no wifi which was promised. after a night of mosquito bites and a list problems we had with the room it got much better. in the future this place would be a much better but we were there to find the problems i suppose. the staff was awesome, two people handled all our problems and did so apologetically and with a smile. we met the owners they were great people, nice and polite as well as willing to help. if it were closer to the beach i think it'd be much better but the stay was a good one
it looked nice at first but bathtub was so dirty Girlfriend refused to use it, there was massive cracks in doors so use of the mosquito nets at night a must, very spacious room but you have to have transport to get around or you cant eat. Snakes falling out of trees near pool was a shock to my girlfriend and she refused to go near again even though told it was a harmless tree snake - i was in pool at time without my glasses and i thought she was taking the piss out of me when she told me not to move as it was 4 feet away - i got the shock of my life when i put my glasses on ha, woken up by dogs and traffic in morning at 7 sharp everyday was not pleasurable maybe other rooms are nicer. overall it was alright but not the romantic place i had hoped for.
No value for Money”
We are regulars to Bali, have been there 30+ times. We were looking forward to staying in Umalas which is some 10 minutes away from the husstle and busstle of Seminyak. But we were very dissappointed. For what we paid we expected to be in a nice 'boutique' resort, but this was just an old, not well-maintained hotel. There were stains in the sheets, the bathroom was not clean and not lamps were working. Also the breakfast was not something to look forward to... we only tried it once, the other days we had breakfast somewhere else. l..... Will not stay there again and also do not recommend it.
abian biu residence”
I've since returned and stayed several times. It is blessedly removed from the craziness of the beaches, but is pretty far from restaurants, etc. I liked that, others might not. The place is a little run down, not badly so, but deserves to be better known.
Huge room with private garden en outside bathroom in a lovely romantic hotel, just outside of Seminyak. Easily to reach by motobike (rented at the hotel for € 4 a day, u can't without).. great place for exploring the area and Seminyak beach.
