This should be a 2star hotel.”

    - bed didn't have mattresses - bathroom was a wet mess everytime you showered. It wasn't very clean. We felt the need to wear thongs/flip flops when showering - staff were very unhelpful - location was OK. It was a 15min walk to subway -pro, it did the job (bare minimum you would need) The sheets were clean. The water was warm. -pro, there was a good dumpling place for breakfast around the corner -on a side note, we requested a double bed but got 2 singles. Not a major thing by any means, just a bit annoying.

    Resolve for exploring beijing”

If you wanna one clean bed and one restroom with tv. This hotel is for you. Is good price. No include breakfast. The wifi is very low and slow. The restroom no stay too clean. Just the toilet. No offer free hotel shuttle and if you request one. No stay on time or no show up. I waiting 45 minutes for the shuttle. Then the attendant said me: shuttle not coming. Also, no is free neither.

For the price, it's what I would expect in a big city with high living costs. It's a place to sleep at night.

    from bad to worst”

    dirty and old room.

This hotel is becoming bad to worst. The room has horrible smell coming from the toilet. Staff wasnt very happy when I kept on calling them to spray some deodorizer for the toilet. Rooms are certainly not soundproof. Hate the noises made by the guest passer by the corridor.. Its more for domestic tourist to stay here than a foreigner.

    Kinda schabby”

    location

When we arrived the rooms were really cold and it smelled bad. I guess people had been smoking inside the rooms and little cleaning was done. This is a SUPER BUDGET hotel. You could pay just 10-20 dollars more or so for a much nicer hotel. The location is alright in houhai and its a very popular place among tourists. There are just too many chinese tourist walking around the lake in the evening. Maybe this hotel would be better in the summer when its not cold. Not going to stay here again so ill let someone else worry about that.

    Good quality budget Hotel”

3 star hotel with the amenities you would expect. Good City Centre location in Dongcheng on main bus routes. Close to many Restaurants, the nearest one, on the JaioDaoKou Nan Dajie corner is A rated hygiene, and very good. A Womart Supermarket is to the North. A Public Security Beureau (Police/Kung Yang) is in opposite hutong, with English speaking interpreter. Very good value for money, and Agoda rates are much cheaper than the hotels own rate.
We got a twin bedded room, each about 4feet, or about 1.3 meter wide. but had the Superior room for the (Agoda discounted) price of Standard

I like this hotel, i have stayed here for a week in 2007 and made a mistake on the website only booking 3 nights this time. The staff are OK, speak and understand English. Reception area includes a tea shop and souvenir/basics shop, including things like Golden throat lozengers. The is also a 3 piece suite to sit on. Beds are comfortable, i did not try the Hotels own Restaurant on 1st floor. A Market with stalls is next door, the Resturant staff buy the fresh fruit and vegetables there.

    Discomfort ”

Close to restaurants and subway, value for money

Sheets are not changed (need to request from the reception), smell of sewage in the room, no wifi. Was supposed to stay for a month but moved out after 2 nights. There are better hotels offering the same rates 5 mins walk away..

Great location, but very small rooms”

location and price, and nothing else

considering how cheap it was, you can't really expect much from this hotel. the location is great, but the building, the rooms, etc. are very old, tired, etc. personally, i wish i had paid an extra night and stayed somewhere better. but for those of you on a tight budget, this hotel is fine. if you're not on a tight budget, stay elsewhere. also, no wi/fi, just a lan cable. but even that had to be hooked up manually by the hotel's it guy. my computer wouldn't recognize it automatically. so you might have to call the front desk to have him come up to your room to set up the ip address.

    great location, BUT”

    location

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. I should have looked at the room before agreeing to stay in it. It was no where near what the picture looked like online. It was very small and smelled funky. The bathroom smelled like sewage and the drain didnt work for the shower so it was like standing in a sewer while taking a shower. I dont know about all the other rooms in the hotel but the one we were given was terrible. Not very clean and we couldn't wait to check out.

Ideally located in the Hutong district”

    Location, value for money

it's the third time i've stayed here. i like the location in the heart of the hutong area. however, this time, i was given a room on the ground floor with no window (the window was a false feature) and the room clearly had no access to fresh air and it had a terrible, strong, pungent smell and not even using the air-conditioning would help. don't get room 2101!! there's no fridge in the room.

Nice location in the heart of the hutongs.”

location, not far from the metro

I stayed in this hotel a few years ago, and I came back because it's quite good value and in a nice fairly quiet location. It's not particularly clean and the staff are as friendly as Chinese people can be (not very!). It's close to a couple of cheap, goo restaurants.

location in Hutong area near metro

a no nonsense chinese style hotel that is 'ok' clean, but not extremely. lobby not so special, large room, clean, hard bed, only chinese channels on tv, lan, good shower, though a bit smelly in the bathroom so need to switch on the ventilator. the staff speaks a little bit english, although there was one person around that spoke it better than the others so look for her :) overall, good value for the price.

You get what you pay for”

Best priced around for a couple of 2-3 traveling together

This place was just northeast of the forbidden city. Close to some shops and eating establishments we parked it here for 5 days turned 10 days since we had to wait for our India Visas. I don't know if the natives are just lazy, but you can walk to Forbidden city, it's easy, and about 1 mile southwest of here. The place was relatively clean. Decent internet speed (although not wireless) moldy corners of the bathroom, but the garbage was cleared everyday and fresh towels and bathroom resupply occurred daily. ITEMS ADVERTISED THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE: Complimentary water <-- Not Free Refrigerator (on request) <-- Does not exist Wi-fi <-- 1 wired LAN port only Restauruant / Room Service <-- Does not exist Non-smoking rooms <-- No one adheres, so inspect room first If you are looking for PRICE, this is you best bet as it does the job and even beats most of the hostel prices around. If you are going for SERVICE, stay away. Only the nice maids smile. The front desk / lobby is awful to deal with
