Our villa was tucked away in the jungle and we were amazed by the beauty and the proximity with the wildlife, especially the monkeys.

The best place in thailand”
We spent 4 days with our kids in Bonhomie in Koh Jum. Bonhomie is the most cosy and relaxed place you could imagine: just beach and jungle around you. The bungalows (10 only!) are made from wood and simple but clean and very cosy. The staff made our stay very enjoyable: Peaceful days on the beach and wonderful evenings at the bar and restaurant.
nice hotel, friendly owner, relaxing”
this resort has been one of the first once on the koh pu beach and is a very nice location. the friendly owner support you with everything and the island koh jum is the perfect place to spend some relaxing days in the sun.
What a wonderful Christmas ”
I really enjoyed my stay at Bonhomie. It is truly a unique experience. Bonhomie is located on the remote part of koh pu, which is already pretty remote. The staff is all really friendly. The accommodations are very rustic but clean and charming. I would visit again!
Even better than we had hoped”
We had read reviews that Bonhomie was 'heaven' and 'paradise' and hoped this was so. It turned out to be even better than we hoped. The staff were wonderful; they really could not do enough for you, the food fantastic and our 'beach cottage' was wonderful, with a huge bed, and wooden interiors. Don't expect air conditioning and all the luxuries that are associated with other resorts, this is in line with nature; you get a fan and a mosquito net and there are shutters you can open, and of course you get the sea breeze. You lie in bed at night and can hear the sounds of birds and the monkeys in the trees, which to us was idyllic. I don't think this is a resort for ravers, but if you want beautiful, secluded tranquility this is the place for you. There are other resorts along this stretch of beach where you could eat,but frankly we cant comment as we felt the food was so good at Bonhomie we didn't eat anywhere else. There are rocks on the beach, and at low tide it can be difficult to swim but at high tide you can swim fine. The beaches were not busy and the only niggle I have with this resort was the lack of sun loungers etc, when there were a few people in the resort the early birds nabbed the seats (or the hammocks) for the day and you were left to lie on the beach, which can be scorching. Of course you could wander down the beach and sit on another resorts chairs, but the addition of a few more hammocks and beach loungers would make this resort perfect in my opinion. I want to thank Paul and all his staff for making our holiday so memorable and we would definitely consider returning to Bonhomie in the future.
Pretty close to Paradise!”
We spent Christmas at Bonhomie and it was perfect! We were woken up Christmas morning, not by reindeer hooves, but by the monkeys jumping on our roof! The bungalows are set up on a gentle slope in the jungle, looking out onto the beach. Great swimming in a very protected bay. There are a couple of sea kayaks for use by those staying there, and there are several other restaurants within walking distance along the beach. This area is not built up, which is what we loved. No shopping, no crowds, no cars. You make your own fun. The owner, Paul, is friendly, engaging and interested in all his guests. He coordinated his own trip to Krabi to include us, and made arrangements via car, boat, car to get us to our next place. Not only would I highly recommend this place, I'd also like to figure out how I could possibly move there!!
Wow, I really enjoyed it here!!!”
I stayed here for about 6 nights and really enjoyed it. The bungalow was spacious with a comfy bed and a bug net that worked really well. Very basic but everything you need to enjoy this amazing beach. The staff are extremely friendly and always willing to make you feel welcome. One day I was invited by the owner to come with them for a trip to Koh Sibroya to visit his family. Such beautiful people... The kitchen was not open when I was there but of course there were other good options right around the corner. I would for sure stay here again!
Jungle feeling at the sea”
We just loved our stay at Bonhomie Beach Cottage. The bungalows are lovingly equipped and spacious. I loved the open bathroom made of stone and wood. You really get the feeling of living in the jungle. Staff is super friendly & helpful. The area is very quiet; just the perfect place for people seeking peace and quiet. The beach is nice, even if it is not possible to swim during low tide.
Very pleasant stay, super friendly staff”
We enjoyed our stay in Bonhomie cottage over Christmas. The owner and the staff is so nice and friendly, very warm and relaxed atmosphere. Food was also great, especially the fresh fish we had for dinner on Christmas Eve. The bungalow is very simply furnished but there was everything you need on such an island.
Mix feeling about our stay.”
Very mix feeling about our stay at Bonhomie Beach Cottage. The good side: For those seeking a peaceful, quiet Holliday this is the place to be. Real Jungle right all over the place, beautiful beach. (No swimming at low tide). The bungalows are basic but very beautiful made only out of natural materials, having a very authentic touch. The half open air bathroom creates a "living in the jungle" feel. The bungalow was clean and the surroundings well maintained. In the morning Monkeys will play on your doorsteps, in the evening only the sound of the waves will reach your ear. The bungalows are real close to the beach, spread out in the Jungle, on our trip through Thailand, the most beautiful Resort. The not so good side; We where the only guests, not a problem but strange while they where already open for a month that season. The owner was not there, only his son (the architect of the resort) who was the only one to speak English. The other Staff, although very friendly, where totally new and had no clue about nothing. The food was to simple and half of the menu not there. Thats understandable when it would be thing like fresh fish, but even things like marmalade, milk and salt where not there. The incl. breakfast was even for Thai standards unacceptable. Because the resort next door has the best cook in Ko Jum and a amazing breakfast, we only went there after the first day. Here we also received all the travel information and tickets to our next Island, something we could not get at Bonhomie Beach Cottage. Conclusion; As resort a real highlight would not be the service and food so bad or absent.
Lovely stay all around”
We had a great 3 nights in a Beach Front bungalow at Bonhomie. The staff was very helpful throughout, and the mosquito net was maybe the best I've ever slept under. Highly recommend the Penang Curry here. The tides, at least while we were there, are very noticeable so make sure to look them up and know when high tide is so you can enjoy your free kayaking and swimming around at that time.
Relaxing beach”
We came for 3 nights and we stayed 6. For us this beach is the best of the island. Great atmosphere! Bonhomie bungalows are super cute and you can enjoy leaving in the jungle. The owner Paul is super nice. Important: if you are looking for party, this is not your beach. We will come back!
Chilled out Bonhomie”
Our 2nd Visit to Bonhomie! Enjoyed it so much we returned! We love Sim, his wife & rest of the staff. They make us feel very welcome & the food is excellent. Lovely to meet Paul the owner this time! Thank you Bonhomie for a lovely holiday Mike & Karen xx
Beautiful, relaxed location, lovely staff.”
This is a quiet, relaxed resort, where there’s things to do if you want them, and space for peace and quiet if you don’t. There’s not much in the way of nightlife here, so probably not the place if that’s your thing. Sin (not sure of spelling, so apologies!) and his staff are genuinely kind and friendly, and I would heartily recommend Bonhomie. Watch out for monkey raiding parties!
Super calm and natural enough”
Yup, we were very pleased with Bonhomie. It was a very low key place to enjoy an almost empty Thai beach for a few days. Monkeys, birds, sea life to investigate at low tide, and even a nice trail through the woods behind our bungalow. It was just what we needed. The staff was really cool, however hard to communicate with, and food service was slow - island style. However , they dropped an acoustic guitar in my lap and I gladly strummed the afternoon away on the beach. Got bored and borrowed the kayak to ho exploring. Loved it here, and good value for sure.
Very nice”
We had a great time at Bonhomie! Our small kids of two and four played nicely with the kids of the staff. We stayed longer than planned. Paul, the manager, is a great host! Thank you so much.
Beautiful & quiet place on Koh Jum”
This place is so beautiful and perfect to relax. The owner is a wonderful and a very interesting person with great stories! The staff is extremely helpful. The bungalows are a bit tucked away in the jungle and are very spacious and clean. They have the best mosquito nets we have had on our whole thailand trip. The restaurant is also very good (though, I would have liked the choice of tofu as in the restaurant next door). The garden and beach are georgous. The only thing we were missing is shadow during the afternoon (you have shadow in the garden but not really at the beach). You should keep in mind that this is not a 5 star resort, but for it's price range it is extremely good! We would definitely come back!
Overall satisfied”
The place is nice, there are many restaurants along the beach wich was important for us. The beach is not that childfrendly during low tide but perfect during high tide. In low tide you can take the canoe further from the beach and swim there. The nearest peer is 10km far so you will need a tuk tuk if you take the ferry to the peer, otherwise will the ferry stop in the middle of the sea and drop you and your luggage to a longtail boat that will take you to the beach where your resort is. The island is 25km long, so we rented a tuktuk and explored the area. In Bonhomie they bake their own bread so its definitely a plus for them. The owner is very nice and frendly, he is also the only one who speaks good english. It was hard to communicate with the staff (also helpfulnice)without him being there. Be aware if you book with agoda it says that they have free bottled water but they dont! When we payed the bill they told us it applies to small bottles which we never got during our stay there.
back in the past”
the Bonhomie is a little run down, a pity because place and furniture are great. We stayed some days more. Only the owner is English speaking, be aware.
A very peaceful atmosphere in a beautiful simple natural place, helped by wonderful staff”
The location is truly beautiful and the beach was clean and quiet. I think it's important to understand that this place is about deconnecting and relaxing. The bungalows are simple and stick to basics but it is something you look for before booking. So it's not a hot shower + aircon. Forget about TV and wifi & data networks are not the best. The owner, Paul, was genuinely friendly and would always be up for a little chat or for support if you need anything. His staff was also very attentive, smiling and always available to us. Although the breakfast offer is a bit limited, the rest of the cooking is actually very good. We tried a wide selection of the menu, western & thai and were always happy. You may read that food is better next door, we think it's not really the case, they're both very good. In the improvements, there could be a refresh of the beach loungers and a few more of them. You will find an atmosphere there.
small peace of heaven”
For us the best part of our trip to tailand. in everyway ,peaceful, the location even thou a bit rural maybe for some. right on the beach , able to drink your first coffe of the day listening to the waves ,walking along the endless sandy beach with the warm water touching your ankels is just pure bliss. and the staff make you feel right a home as if part of a family. just BRILLANTE.....if your looking for disco and the typical holiday bares and noise this is definetly NOT YOUR RESORT...... without doubt would return for much longer time. would love to give a big thankyou to Paul and all his staff from behalf of Mercedes and Peter from Barcelona.....
