Bordeaux City Center hotels & places to stay

Pros: excellent location, beautiful view from our hotel window, good sound insulation towards the street, good check-in/check-out process, good bed Cons: uncomfortable pillows, tight space, and tiny shower with fluctuating water temperatures Conclusion: this is a great hotel if you'll be spending most of your day out exploring Bordeaux. The hotel location is really excellent, and the prices reasonable. The spaces are tight, but if you don't mind, this hotel is excellent value.

Fabulous hotel for our short overnight stay in Bordeaux. We booked this hotel as it was very close to the centre of the city and had access to a nearby carpark. The hotel is an oasis of calm with a great outside courtyard in which to sit with a drink and relax. Our room was luxurious with a spa, huge bathroom (with complimentary Hermes toiletries) and tea/coffee making facilities. The buffet breakfast had to be seen to be believed, so many delicious choices - the best of our trip. Hotel guests pay a reduced rate at the carpark which was literally around the corner. We needed to use the car that evening and the friendly hotel staff printed out a 'receipt' to show the carpark staff; we paid only the 10 Euro for 24 hours and could enter and exit as needed. As it was so close to the city centre we were able to walk everywhere and see the main sights in a short space of time. We also made use of the hire bikes that can be found in several places in the city centre. There was a bike pickup/drop off just outside our carpark near the hotel. We would love to stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel only one days. The hotel's location is good because it can reach by tram (400 meters from the tram station), about 10 minutes from the city center. The reception is friendly and helpful. The room's condition was very clean and very good. The room's facilities was very good because there was a small but complete kitchen inside. We didn't know the quality of breakfast because we can cooked ourself. In conclusion, we were very satisfy at this hotel and we will not hesitate to stay at this hotel for the next time in Bordeaux.

this was a great hotel on a quiet residential street on the outskirts of the town centre of Bordeaux, but easy walking distance to all the sights and restaurants. We only had one night there and it was very comfortable, with friendly staff, a nice terrace on which to have drinks served, and luxurious room amenities. We stayed in the secret room with its own courtyard terrace. It was a little on the small side but not tiny, and certainly large enough to move around in w our suitcases, and we loved the uniquely tiled bathroom. Great value for a 5* hotel!

Centrally located with a lovely off street courtyard garden. The receptionist (manager?) was very helpful in getting us checked in late Sunday evening and had prepared for every eventuality. Breakfast was good, if a little overpriced at 16 euros, but an it was an unlimited buffet with a reasonable selection. The room was clean and tidy, well stocked mini bar and full selection of toiletries. As for the hotel as a whole, the style and decoration are looking a little tired and in need of a bit of a refurb, but the design and layout of the building, it's charming location and helpful staff make it a very pleasant base to explore the beautiful city of Bordeaux. I would easily recommend for a long weekend or shorter. For longer stays, there may not be enough amenities in the hotel to satisfy your needs.

We were delighted with our choice of hotel in Bordeaux. It is in a central location, perfect for sightseeing, shopping and dining. The rooms are small but this is normal in French city hotels. However the room was clean, equipped with a great coffee machine and had a good shower room. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was excellent. Good choices, good juices and good coffee.

The hotel itsself located in the heart of bordeaux. We got ourself a free upgrade, the room got everything from stove, microwave, wine opener. Its make me feels like home. If you stay in bordeaux for more than few days, those things will be useful. It has a supermarket nearby... The city can be done by a less than a day of walking considering the hotel location. Friendly staff as well....

In the heart of the historical center, on a quiet pedestrian side street. Just because a street is pedestrian, doesn't guarantee you a quiet sleep...this is a college town with lots of students who stay out late and congregate at corners, bars, plazas, pedestrian streets, etc. Note: the closest Uber can drop you is 2 short blocks away but a bit confusing in which direction - I used my GPS and had no trouble. Rooms are small but have everything you need.

Quiet at night, despite the city center location. Had a pleasant sleep. Weak Wifi signal in our room, had to take i-pads to reception floor(ground floor)to get them connected. Simple and clean room. Nicely furnished bathroom.

We stayed one night at the Campanile. It was overall a good stay for the price we paid: the room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Good location for us as we caught the first train out of Bordeaux so it was just a 500m walk to the train station in the morning. The staff were helpful enough to put away some things for us in the fridge as there wasn't one in the room, but they were very cool about it and made us feel like they were going out of their way to do something annoying and unpleasant for them. Other staff like the housekeepers were also pretty unpleasant in general. That was the only downside. It's a good place to stay if you're not going to spend much time in the hotel except sleep and shower.

I booked this hotel from Australia for 2 nights for my daughter who was travelling to Bordeaux to meet up with friends. She said the hotel was in a great location which was our primary concern. She stayed an the extra night although they were very flexible and said she could stay one or two nights. She was allowed to leave here luggage there till the afternoon. The staff were very helpful and she had no complaints about the hotel. She did not eat at the hotel so although I put a 5 because it all had to be filled in the food in Bordeaux was brilliant, the segment had to be filled in.

Stayed overnight before embarking on a river cruise the following day. It was a lovely hotel which was located nearer to government/commercial buildings than Bordeaux tourist attractions. However, for a longer stay, we probably could have figured out the tram system which was readily available.

I don't expect much more from an hotel not far from the city center. It could be very good for tourist too.

we stayed one night a for a quick visit in bordeaux. everything was great. check-in and check-out simple, nice breakfast (western/european style). though the location is next to the train station, we haven't noticed any sound of train. the tram stops almost in front of the hotel which is convenient to get quickly in the city. there was wifi in the lobby which actually reach our room at the first floor. bathroom is small but clean.

I had some trouble with the wifi, but they solved it. There are lots of toilets and showers, so no worry about waiting to use one. Towel is provided. The hostel is located a bit far from the rail station, but it is located in a nice place to start a visit of Bordeaux by foot.

I booked the hotel for my parents who were spending a night in Bordeaux. Location was just off the town centre so that you could easily reached it by foot or by tram. The hotel is rather new, rooms are quite and kept clean; the staff was helpful, polite and professional. Breakfast in the morning was very good.

We have requested a quiet room on high floor and actually our room is on the 2nd floor(3 -floors altogether) facing back side with a small piece of grassland. Quiet though, hope that there could be a mosquito screen on the window because there was no air conditioning on our stay but temp reached 27 in daytime that we had to open the window for air circulation and therefore became prey for the mosquitoes. My husband got the bites and couldn’t sleep well for the few nights. Mind you b & b style that you need to bring all daily necessities and small devices at your own convenience. Breakfast is simple but got all you need for the start of a day. I like the coffee machine with all choices, incl chocolate and the fresh orange juice extracting machine! Excellent for us travelling to St Emillion, Arcachon, to and from Paris Montparnasses by train and by tram throughout town area and scenic spots.

Great location. Just a few minutes away from N1 airport bus stop. Few minutes walk from city centre. Very quite location. Spacious room. Big bathroom & very comfy bed. Nicely furnished & decorated. Very clean. Excellent value for money. We had a very comfortable stay and were very satisfied with the hotel room & location. We would have liked it even more if breakfast were included, but hey, you are in France and you can get a decent breakfast in any bar. In fact there was a lovely "Patisserie" few minutes up the road that offered a tremendous selection of pastries & good coffee.

close to Gare st jean , 10 mins walk even with big wheelie bag (luggage) quite area away from all the busy downtown touristic area, very good public transport at train station (tram, bus ) that gets you all over Bordeaux. the apt is big but has only small bed (queen) so if you are tall or just big then the bed can be cramped, there is NO washing machine in this apt, the shower is big as is the bathroom, no service for the 4 night stay, very limited English tv channels (news and music)

My first time in Bordeaux and what a fantastic experience. The hotel was brilliant and in a fantastic location. The staff were welcoming and very accommodating. We asked and received a room on the top floor and the view was brilliant (regardless of the roof of the cinema opposite). Despite the 34 degree temperature outside the hotel was cool and comfortable with lovely art deco touches. The breakfast was lovely too and set us up for a morning's 2 hour walking tour of Bordeaux. Our flight home was late in the evening and the hotel helpfully stored our cases leaving us free to spend the day in Bordeaux unencumbered by luggage. Highly recommend Hotel Konti and we hope to return again.

We picked this hotel initially due to the cost and the location. Well, we could not have picked better with the Hotel being located in the centre of Bordeaux and the quiet room that we were allocated at the rear of the Hotel overlooking a courtyard and other buildings. The room was cleaned every day and we had clean towels. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and I highly recommend the continental breakfast which was more than adequate and good value for money.

Nice place to start our trip to Dordogne very centrally located. Comfortable room and nice to have a separate living area and small kitchenette. Not sure about the shared table for breakfast and service at breakfast was a bit hit and miss, hard to get hot water for tea and ran out of coffee

this hotel is a not far from the train station. easy to find. a bit far from sights, city center, shopping streets. big room. small bathroom. room is a bit old but clean enough. tv in room. a big carrefour nearby. staffs are quite and helpful with any question you have.

The hotel is located 10 mins walk from the river Garonne. Rooms are fairly small and decorated French style, i.e. with yellow walls and dark red drapings and lamps. Has a nice yard where you can enjoy breakfast (not always included in the price) for 10 euro. It is clean and practical, about 35 euros from the airport. The street is not much so you will have to walk for 2-3 mins to get to hangout areas. Our room had a TV and a bathroom with shower. All in all convenient and value for money, but nothing special and not the best for a romantic trip. No elevator so people with kids probably want to stay on the ground floor.

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel for sightseeing. I think it's good enough just for one person. The price was relatively reasonable in France, so it was ok for me.
