"This is a wonderful and inexpensive small manor in a very expensive town. It's out of the town proper in a quiet spot but not so far you can't still walk into Bowral. The huge cooked breakfast was of an excellent standard. The staff who run the hotel are friendly. Where else do you get to know the proprietors name. Lots of parking which is always a challenge in hotels. My room was huge and well appointed, while my brother got the little single room, but it was still a good size. I believe the hot water services were recently updated and did not disappoint. I love that they have retained the old world style without letting it get dated or run down. Don't change a thing! New hotels become so sterile. I can't think of any faults. I would definitely stay there again."

"This delightful hotel encompasses all that we expected from the Southern Highlands; Exceptional friendly service, a hotel with a history (the first ensuited hotel in Australia), ambience of a Manor house and the most amazing complimentary a la carte breakfast we have had in Australia...yes really! The ensuites are not large but they have everything you could need and are modern and spotless, as was our room. The guest sitting room and lounge has a large open fire and the squidgiest most comfortable and inviting lounges and chairs that you could sit all night sipping your favourite tipple or retire back here after dinner. We played backgammon (we brought our own) with a glass prior to dining and on the cold nights it was so lovely to have the fire going. There is a large library of wonderful books and a huge selection of DVD's for those wanting a quiet night in your room, all complimentary. The grounds are lovely and small enough to feel cocooned but large enough for a game of boules or croquet, all supplied for your pleasure. Robert, Phoebe, Michael, Claire, Jan, Cameron, Caitlin and the rest of the team...you are what makes this place special. We extended our stay from from 5 nights to 7 then again to 8 nights...so I guess that really says it all. Thank you all for making us feel special...Nicki and Tim"
