More than I expected ”
I liked everything about this place. There was a little snag at first where they left us hanging at the ferry terminal when we arrived, but they were keen to rectify. Restaurants and shops are a little pricey. But the location is wondrous! I loved it!
Thank you for letting us know about the incidents that you encountered when you arrived. However, we will definitely look into all the details so we can work on improvements. We are glad that you found the location satisfactory and we wish to welcome you back again in future
Relaxing Stay ”
Really enjoyed our stay at Casa Kalaw. Spacious rooms and helpful staff. We asked for extra pillows. My only comment is the frequency of the shuttle service to town. Perhaps they can add more trips during peak season.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate your letting us know about the concerns regarding the shuttle service. These will indeed help us as we continuously work on improvements. It is our hope to welcome you back and be of service to you again in the near future.
The hotel was close to the Lio beach which is nice and quiet away from the crowds. There are restaurants on the beach which is great. The hotel was nice and the room comfortable. I found the housekeeping a little lacking when we arrived. There were no bath mats readily available and I had to aske even Day 2 for the mats as we had 3 rooms and not all were given mats. Since no plastic on the island it was hard to avail of any bottled water even at the Mercury Drug store so bring refillable mugs. No plastic means no shampoo, lotion etc usually complimentary but some soap/shampoo in dispensers although they did not seem full. It just seemed to minimalist to me. The housekeeping staff need to be better trained. The staff were friendly enough. Great airport transfers which was only 5 minutes away. Expensive tricycle rides to town so renting scooters for a day may be more economical.
Thank you very much for your feedback and bringing to our attention the recent unfortunate experiences you had during your stay. Please accept our deepest apologies for the lapses in housekeeping service. Please be assured that we are reviewing all the points from your feedback and we are taking the necessary steps to correct and ensure these incidents do not happen again. We are intent on making things right so we do hope that we will be given the opportunity to welcome you back.
The Perfect El Nido Gateway”
El Nido is a place with many braches, and at the end of each is a paradise on its own. Casa Kalaw is the main artery that connects these branches and offers a slice of paradise by itself. Just 5 minutes away from the airport, one does not waste time on extra land or sea travel just to get to a resort that offers the features of a world-class hotel. The Casa Kalaw Staff are very well trained and answer your needs from arrival to departure. The rooms are clean and cozy, the pool is warm and freshening and the accessibility to the beach, stores, bank and dining options is ideal. Breakfast is well-made everyday and offers variety. The beach itself is very pristine and ine can laze around the whole day and still be impressed at it. Just a 20 minute ride south to the town or 20 minutes north to Nacpan beach, Casa Kalaw is certainly at the center of where you should be in El Nido. Everything priced very fairly. Definitely worth coming back to again and again!
We are incredibly grateful that you took the time to leave us this wonderful review! Everyone in the team truly appreciates receiving these comments as we strive to give our guests genuine service that will make their stay memorable. We are certainly looking forward to being able to welcome you back in future.
Gem at Lio Beach”
This place was amazing but what was our favourite was how cool Lio beach area is. The beach itself is white sand and there are cool funky restaurants and shops. Worth staying here to get away from the busy centre of el Nido. The hotel had a wonderful breakfast, the pool was lovely and the rooms were very nice.
Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us and taking the time to share your comments. We are glad to read your positive feedback about your stay. We are truly looking forward to being able to welcome you back again in the future!
Happened to be looking for a hotel in Palawan and a way to avoid the multi hour drive to El Nino when I spotted the Lio resort complex and it's sister airline Air Swift at the same time on the TV show 90 day Fiance. I freeze framed the hotel sign on the TV and that's how I discovered Casa Kalaw. The real thing looks exactly like it did on the TV show although the resort does not promote it that way. Casa Kalaw is part of a complex on Lio Beach 20 minutes outside of El Nido town that consists of 5 hotels, a dozen restaurants and bars and a few shops. The airport is 5 minutes away, you could walk it w/o luggage and the beach itself is 30 seconds out the back door of Casa Kalaw. The hotel itself is fairly small as are the other 4 hotels at the beach. Everything you see at the complex including the airline you flew in on is owned by one entity, the Ayala family. The same Ayala family that owns Makati in Manila. In short basic but nice ( hotel ), noisey ( families ) beautiful beach. Lar

Perfect place for vacation ”
Staffs friendly and helpful.helped us to book tricycle and transport van.offer free shuttle van to go el nido town.Private place whereby have own beach.no need to share with outsiders.quiet ambience..with variety of restaurant and shops plus bars.would advise to book direct flight to el nido airport which located next to this place rather than going to Puerto Princesa airport which took around 6hrs road journey.me and my girlfriend really had good time here and definitely will come back again soon.
Thank you very much for staying at Casa Kalaw and for taking the time to recount your experience. We are glad to read your positive feedback about your stay. Everyone in the team truly appreciates receiving these comments as we strive to give our guests genuine service that will make their stay memorable.
A great experience!”
Amazing staff and very accommodating namely Irah, Vic, Ritchell, Kim, Lisa, Jared, Gr, Nick, Jiesan and everyone involved. They work non-stop and would see them almost 24/7 and I'm not exaggerating (short staffed but tries to do their best to help out all the time). We had a big group and they were always making sure that we're good. Pros: Food was great except for the waffles (too hard) & caesar salad (the sauce was like a soup in my husband's plate). lol I really liked their fried chicken, inasal, garlic shrimp, grilled tanguige. Close to all restaurants and the beach 3 minutes away. Cons: Towels are not soft unfortunately.... this might be weird but everyone who gets a sunburn after a long day can relate why we need soft ones. lol Overall I'd highly recommend this place irregardless of some issues. Coming from a customer service background I always like to tip well especially if I'm getting great services. So if you guys are able... pay it forward. :)

The area has lots of restaurants, shops around. It’s not too busy so it’s good when you want to take a stroll at the beach. The food was also good when you just want to stay in the hotel. The pool wasn’t busy so my young daughter and I enjoyed swimming whenever we wanted. The room was a suite and I highly recommend it for families with Children. We also had laundry done in the hotel which was convenient. The staff of Kalaw are excellent. They work tirelessly. We would like to thank Irah, Jiesan, Vic, GR and Kim. They were great in helping us especially with our daughter, Molly. They made us feel very welcomed. We will definitely come back and stay at Kalaw again.
We are glad to read your positive feedback about your recent stay as this shows that you very much enjoyed our different services and facilities within the hotel and Lio Estate. We are also thankful for the positive remarks on the service of our staff. This will definitely be shared with the team to keep everyone inspired in rendering excellent service. Thank you for recommending us to others and we shall look forward to welcome you once again at the Casa Kalaw!
High cost for a not so developed area in Palawan.”
Apart from its good location (very close to Lio Airport) and 4km beach, everything is below average and expensive. Hotel, food and services are costly. Lio estate is relatively new and needs a lot of improvement on food choices, cleanliness, and room and resort amenities.
We are glad to read your honest feedback about your recent stay. Please accept our deepest apologies for the inconsistencies in service, amenities and facilities. We will definitely look into all the details so we can work on improvements. We are intent on making things right so we do hope that we will be given the opportunity to welcome you back!
Loved the Lio beach area”
The Lio beach resort area is lovely and quiet. The beach is super clean and all the facilities around the area is perfect. Close to El Nido but still far away form the hustle. Hotel is good with a nice swimmingpool. Altough the staff (and this is for whole Palawan) is not that super friendly (better in other parts of the Philippines). The room is good but it smelled a bit moldy due to the AC. Breakfast is OK but not much choise for Western breakfast. Good thing is the free shuttle to town. Would highly recommend staying in the Lio beach area!
We truly appreciate your letting us know about your experience as it is thru our guest’s feedback that we can make changes for the better. Please accept our deepest apologies for all the lapses in service as we can only imagine the disappointment you had over the series of unfortunate events that occurred during your stay. We hope you can visit us again in future as we are eager to give you a better experience.
Amazing Place for Couples”
Love that it's 1 minute away from the beach. Love the pool area. Love the tapa for breakfast and the lemongrass body wash! 💛 Place was very clean. Beach Towels are available. Free airport transfer and Shuttle bus service to the city. Breakfast buffet was ok. Nothing exceptional but ample choices. Highly recommended!!!
Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us and taking the time to share your comments. We are delighted to know that you loved your recent stay at our hotel. It is our hope to welcome you back in the near future.
Service could be better. Although staff was responsive to common requests for towels, extra key cards there were several important requests that were not done such as a special dinner menu that was arranged before hand (they served a different menu from what was chosen), speedboat transfer from pier to sightseeing boat offshore (we had to swim from the boat to the shore since there was no driver for the speedboat on hand). Some rooms had minor leaks. The safety deposit boxes did not work.
We truly appreciate your letting us know about your experience as it is thru our guest’s feedback that we can continually improve. We also apologize for the substandard service and facilities, we will certainly look into theses and address the concerns. It is our hope to welcome you back and be of service to you again in the near future.
I am very pleased to have booked at Casa Kalaw and Balai Adlao . We were taken cared by the staff .”
Specially by the manager and front desk people and the helpful nurse who took care of my sick daughter and son during our stay from May 25 to 27. They made sure that we were comfortable and well attended till we were sent back to the airport on May 27, 2018. With Casa Kalaw , you won't go wrong. Highly recommended to everyone .
Great People, Relaxing Location”
If you want to stay close to the heart of El Nido Town, then this is not for you. If you want to be near the water and surrounded by peace and quiet, then this is your place. Literally a 4 minute drive from the airport. Rooms clean, food good, pool relaxing. You are close to the beach. There is a shuttle which runs to the town every hour. Spa is fabulous. Choice of restaurants around and the people are super friendly and helpful.
Good quiet location”
We liked the location as it was peaceful and safe. Though it is still being developed, I can see more exciting things to happen in Lio Ayala Land Estates area. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay there again when I visit el nido.
Good and very promising”
The place is quite new. Obviously there are still adjustments that they will need to make and little things that are not yet in-place (in-room phone system, more light by bathroom sink, wi-fi in rooms). I read some reviews from guests who stayed a few weeks before us and very much appreciate that the hotel evidently listened (to the feedback) and made the necessary adjustments... didn't give us reason to complain about the same issues. The hotel staff were very nice, accommodating, efficient and very helpful which made up for the little things that wasn't in-place yet. The buffet breakfast was OK but should be "expanded". We all agree that we enjoyed our stay. We like the exclusivity of the beach and definitely appreciated it more after venturing into town. There are several resto-bars (just across the hotel, by the beach) that offered good food, better choices and service... no need to go to the town-proper. It was evident that there is a certain (level of) standard that the developer is aiming for. If you are staying at the main land resort/hotel, definitely consider Casa Kalaw... especially those travelling a few months after this review was written.
Pleasant Environment, Facilities need improvement”
It's a clean hotel with friendly staff. During our stay, 4 of us, 2 rooms. We had issues with the keycards and safe locking system. It turns out that the key card system isn't that great so our keys needed to be updated every day. It just made us have to walk back to the lobby each time we reach the room. As for the safe lock, though staff kept unlocking it for us, they actually forgot to 'Reset' it. So, once it was opened, then locked, it will recognise the previous code by the previous guest.
We truly appreciate your letting us know about your experience as it is thru our guest’s feedback that we can make changes for the better. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconveniences due to defective facilities, we will ensure to work on addressing these concerns. We hope you can visit us again in future as we are eager to give you a better experience.
Great location & service”
I enjoyed my stay and would come back. Casa Kalaw is one of the hotels in the new Lio Estate. The hotel is new, with clean and modern/coastal furnishing. The front desk and restaurant staff were helpful and courteous. I really liked the Lio estate as a whole. Nice clean beach, with several restaurants & bars to choose from (I liked Shaka). Enough to do aside from laying on the beach (SUP, kayaking). Best part is that it is not crowded. This may change as the place becomes more popular. You can book island-hopping tours through Le Swift (near the hotel, just ask the front desk). They’ll pick you up from the hotel. The hotel pool is nice, though I didn’t really use it since the beach is just 2 minutes away. The breakfast buffet and resto food is 👍. The only thing I didn’t like was that my room faced the walkway so I kept the curtains drawn. There is wifi in the room and around the hotel, and cellular reception is clear (if you cannot completely disconnect). Overall, I recommend staying here. Definitely much better than the accommodations in town. Not as exclusive but more affordable and convenient than staying at one of the island resorts (Lagen, Miniloc, etc), since it’s just 5 mins ride from the Lio airport (free shuttle if you are staying in one of the Lio resorts). The are also hourly shuttles to town (free) so you are not really isolated.
Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us and taking the time to share your comments. We are delighted to know that you had a great time during your stay with the service and genuine hospitality of our staff and that you enjoyed the different facilities of Lio Estate. We will definitely share your feedback with the entire team to keep them motivated. We are certainly looking forward to being able to welcome you back in future.
Very nice place, staff was great, very accommodating and very friendly, amenities were great too, beach was nice and not crowded at all, exclusive for the resort hotels, there are 4 hotels inside the resort community, we stayed in casa Kalaw, there were plenty of restaurants to choose from in the area. They also provide parking space for our car, since we decided to rent a car during our stay in Palawan. The hotel is not beachfront but its an easy 2 minute walk... but i had a problem with the shower heater of our hotel, you can’t control the temperature of the water, either its too hot or too cold. Also, when i bended over to get a thing that i dropped, there were nasty dusts underneath the bed. Aside from that our stay was a pleasant one.
Thank you for taking the time to share with us your personal experience during your stay. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the difficulty you experienced with the water heater in the shower and the inconsistent cleanliness of your room, we will ensure to work on addressing these concerns. We wish to welcome you back again in future and are hopeful we can give you a better experience.
