We had a beachfront chalet for the night. No AC! They are building new chalets underneath with inground pools and spas which were half full of filthy water breeding swarms of mosquitoes. Our room had huge holes in the roof top mosquito screens and there was no mosquito net for kids bed so we all had to sleep in 1 bed. We were eaten alive and got no sleep whatsoever. Worst night ever
nice place, but to expensive for what you get”
Beautiful and peaceful setting”
one to forget”
the hotel was advertised as 6.3km from the airport. the journey took 2 & a half hours!!! you have to take a taxi to the port, wait for a ferry travel to the island and the travel on a dirt track for 20 minutes. (the taxi driver on the island will try and rip you off, they will hold you to ransom as there is so little choice?) infact, unless you have specific reason to go to Maputo, don't go there!! its a dirty and dangerous place. not for the feint hearted.
Very relaxing few days in a superb location”
Away from the bustle of Maputo”
We initially booked a standard room but upgraded to a bigger suite when we arrived. The room was very nice, great views and clean. The spa bath however was not working and we requested a room change, which we got the next day. All of the staff were helpful and friendly in the reception and on the deck restaurant and bar areas. The "lady" (manager /owner?) we are not sure who she was, but she was not friendly at all. Did not greet her guests and that to us is a big no-no! My husband greeted her one morning and he just got a glare from her. Not a great impression whoever she is.
Schönes, zentrales Hotel in Maputo”
Molto ombre poche luci”
