New Century Hotel Amsterdam
Osdorp,Amsterdam - View on map
"The hotel is absolutely lovely, it is quite far from the centre so you do need to walk to the tram stop which is about a five minute walk, to get onto the number 1 which takes about 30 minutes. The hotel is in a quite peaceful location, the decor is wonderful. The staff were really friendly and polite. The room we stayed in was cleaned perfectly, and we had no issues during our stay there! We are already planning on coming back to Amsterdam and staying in this hotel again :) "

Volkshotel Amsterdam

"I loved the Volkshotel. Had a very Brooklyn vibe but in the best way. Staff was super friendly, food at the restaurants was good and affordable, great coffee in the morning and cheap beer in the evening. Room was nice and clean, bed was super comfortable, I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Amsterdam. Was my favorite hotel throughout my 6 City euro trip. "

Hotel Arena
Oost / Watergraafsmeer,Amsterdam - View on map
"While not in the center of Amsterdam, Hotel Arena is very close to all of the action. It's just a short walk to the tram and only a 15 min walk into the city center. The staff was friendly and helpful in helping us get around and the rooms were clean and bright. There was construction at the time of the visit, but we didn't hear any noise and the hotel generously gave us two free drinks to apologize for the work."

Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam
Oost / Watergraafsmeer,Amsterdam - View on map
"We travelled to 7 different cities and stayed in 6 different hotels and this was by far above the rest of them. The metro stop is across the street from the hotel and it takes only a few minutes to get the the city center from the stop. Also, if you are a football fan like myself there is a direct metro line to the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The staff was amazing, helpful, and very friendly. The room was beautiful, there were USB ports, and the view is amazing. I cannot stop raving about this hotel. DO STAY HERE!"

ibis Amsterdam Centre
Amsterdam-Centrum,Amsterdam - View on map
"It can't be denied that almost all hotels in Amsterdam are expensive, yet we opted to stay in a hotel since it is just comfortable to us. This hotel is just how many meters away from the Central station and we just love it for the location. Their breakfast is expensive with not so many choices compare to the previous hotels that we stayed before we reached Amsterdam. They don't have bacons i their breakfast! Room is very small, they good for two room was utilised for good for three sharing since I booked for one room with three adults but it is just the same the room which is good for two is the same room given to us so it was very tight for us yet we paid a very big amount of money good for three adults. It is not good to book three adults in one room which we do not have a choice during our stay. We opted not to eat their breakfast considering that the food choices was very limited for 17 euro per pax!"

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City
Oost / Watergraafsmeer,Amsterdam - View on map
"The hotel was absolutely perfect! We was looking for a hotel with a good location and this couldn't have been better! We was bang I'm the middle of the city and all the bars, shops and cafes was on out doorstep literally! The service in the hotel was amazing, every member of staff was so friendly and very helpful telling us everything we needed to know for our visit. The rooms were very clean and basic just what we needed and there was a safe and TV for extra comfort. The beds themselves was surprisingly very comfortable every night I had a good night sleep! The best thing about the hotel had to be the location and the staff, and the only thing I can fault is there was scaffolding up while we were staying but you couldn't help that! I would 100% stay again and I am already planning my next visit back to Amsterdam and city hotel! "

"The receptionist personnel all that I came into contact with on my visit may 6,2019 through May 8,2019 excellent even to the gentleman who helped me take my luggage to the tram because I was too close to Amsterdam central. I was unable to use the wellness center 😥😂 But next time. I have already recommended your hotel and Amsterdam to friends. To be honest I was in Paris prior to my arrival if had known, I would have spent more time at your hotel and Amsterdam. I felt comfortable and safe. As solo traveler.Thank you lorna gunness "

More about Amsterdam

With enough art, culture, architecture, and entertainment to keep travelers coming back year after year, this Dutch city is certainly a traveler’s favorite and the cultural center of the Netherlands. Amsterdam is also the capital of Netherlands, and the largest city in the country.

The city is served by Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, which is connected to the city center through the city’s very efficient train system, as well as taxis.

This multi-faceted city is divided into several unique districts, though most travelers often end up in the central district of the old town known as Amsterdam-Centrum. This is where some of the city’s most famous and often visited attractions are located, so this area is often a favorite among travelers to the city. The Anne Frank House museum is one such attraction in this area, often crowded with tourists and history buffs who visit the place where the young Jewish diarist and her family once hid for safety during the atrocities of World War II.

Of course, Amsterdam’s nightlife is nothing short of exciting, and many travelers will go there specifically for the entertainment and music scene for which this city is so well known. But this city, full of old-world charm, is more nuanced than just exciting nightlife. This city is as suitable for backpackers and students as it is for families and the very affluent. Hotels in Amsterdam cater to every type of traveler, ranging from quaint boutique hotels in converted townhouses to purpose-built luxury establishments.

Shops and museums are laid out on a network of canals, and visitors can walk or ride a rented bicycle along the canal, over bridges and into any number of cozy sidewalk cafés or boutiques. This is the city that inspired master artists like Vincent Van Gogh, so museums and arts districts are abundant. A trip to Amsterdam is incomplete without stopping by Amsterdam Oud Zuid, an upscale southern borough known for its street markets and attractive neighborhoods. Museum Square is a popular attraction of this area, home to many well-known museums. Booking accommodation near Rijksmuseum, a world-class art institute, allows visitors to take their time exploring the galleries while spending less time getting around.

There’s much more to see in Amsterdam, and the interactive map on this page is a great way to explore where the attractions and hotels can be found in this exciting city.
