Eskaya Beach Resort and Spa

"Eskaya Beach resort is the best resort on Bohol. It's nice and private, but still close to Alona beach. The Villas are very nice, especially 4, 5 and 6 with ocean view. The pool is very nice, and there is a nice private beach. The food in the restaurant is good, especially the crab. It is expensive though. The staff is extremely friendly. The spa is top notch and you get a complimentary 1 hour massage with your stay. All in all a great resort. "

Mithi Resort and Spa
Panglao Island,Bohol - View on map
"My wife and I were ambivalent about booking a room at such a nice resort during our two week voyage around the Philippines, but as we checked in and were escorted to our rooms, all of our anxiety peeled off like the ripe bananas they give every night. For what we paid (approx $275)/night, I expected a reasonably sized room, with a nice view of the beach, and a nice bed. What we got was a bungalow with a hot tub under palm trees, a great view, and a bathroom with windows that look out into a little nursery of plants and trees - nothing beats showering while looking at trees rather than tiles. Oh and a complimentary 30-min massage, and access to snorkeling and kayak gear. One thing that I would say was less than par - or maybe even just par - was the buffet food (but hey, also free!), which ranged from not-so-pleasant to meh. That was mitigated by the beautiful views from their dining area out to the open sea and the rest of beautiful Bohol, but it has to be said. But don't worry, take a 20-minute drive to the Bee Farm for lunch and you'll be a happy camper. Everyone working at the resort was very accommodating, willing to be flexible with us about tour plans too. Overall, I'm telling everyone and their mothers to try and come out here, and now I'm telling you! Go go go!!!"

South Palms Resort
Panglao Island,Bohol - View on map
"This is the greater part of the former Bohol Beach Club Hotel, beautifully transformed into a fabulous beach resort with upgraded bungalows, pools and hugely improved food. The BBC 'acquired' one of the best beachfronts in the Philippines many years ago as the family were best buddies with the horrendous Marcos. They ran the BBC as a 3 star hotel which was okay but always a massive under realized potential. Now that a professional hotel company has taken over one can immediately notice the difference and this is now the resort that the BBC could easily have been! However, this is strictly a place for relaxing and chilling out, the sea isn't good for swimming and there isn't a lot to do although personally that's part of the charm. The staff were fantastic, the bungalows fine and everything including the tv and Wifi worked well. The two hotel sites almost merge and one can easily wander between them although you wouldn't choose to eat at the BBC but might enjoy strolling along the beach and feeling grateful that the original owners didn't over develop the site."

Donatela Resort & Sanctuary
Panglao Island,Bohol - View on map
"I and my daughter are happy to stay in Donatela. Nice cozy ambience, good cuisine, friendly and efficient service... feels at home immediately. Love the nature setting, seeing different species like gecko and different kinds of frogs, waking up in the morning by the sound of chirping birds, watching the horses and ponies grazing the grass, enjoying the sight of the humble fishermen in their boats by the cliff of Paprika restaurant. Nice local/exotic fruit bearing trees. Well maintained surroundings. Nice accommodations of Ifugao inspired villas. Well thought of designs of the villas, very detailed.. May be few distance away from the Alona Beach but was all worth it... The price of menu in Paprika is competitive to the ones offered along Alona Beach, so worth the gastronomic experience. Quality cuisine at competitive price (to Alona Beach front restaurants) It is where we will stay the next we visit Bohol. "
