Maverick Urban Lodge
09. Ferencváros,Budapest - View on map
"My friends and I stay for 3 nights. It's located in the city area close to Spar (convenient store), 2 minutes from the bus stop and 5 minutes from the tram. The place is so modern and new. It was built in Dec 2019. The service is so nice. Vivi was the one who welcomed us. She is very friendly. She helped us guide to every place we should go during the coronavirus or prepare us for everything we need. Also the last day I met with a guy, he told me about the Hungarian airport will close tonight and he gave us a great suggestion and offer some help. So I really like this place. And I planned to come back to Hungary. For sure, this place is going to be where I will stay again. <3"

KViHotel Budapest

"The hotel was clean, modern and had helpful staff. The facilities I'm sure will be great once the hotel has been up and running a bit longer as I can see there are still a few things to iron out. But overall a great hotel and we had an amazing time there and in Budapest, would recommend"

Anantara New York Palace Budapest

"Definitely one of the highly recommended luxury hotel in Budapest, ideal for its location, service and the well maintained condition of the hotel. The hotel looks especially beautiful during nightfall when the exterior was lit up. Room is spacious too. Pity we did not have a chance to try their spa treatments as they were quite popular and our schedule do not meet their available timeslots. "

Benczur Hotel
06. Terézváros,Budapest - View on map
"The hotel is located in Benczur utca, in a very quiet and nice area of Budapest, just 3-4 minutes walk from busy Andrassy street, between Bajza utca and Hosok ter (Heroes' Square) metro stations (Yellow line M1). We booked 2 standard double rooms. Unfortunately, not all of them had air-conditioning. Anyway, very polite and professional staff of the hotel helped us to get the room with air-conditioning. Besides, they helped us a lot with other questions. I would especially like to point out and thank staff of the reception He is a real professional and very good man! The hotel also offers free safe in the reception, free internet access in the lobby (hotel computer and wi fi, if you have your own computer). Breakfast is quite good, the restaurant is big enough, clean and cozy."

"Thank you so much for such a warm welcome! Although my short stay, I really enjoyed my time at the Maverick City Lodge Hostel. The only thing I was sad about, was to staying only one night. Everything was perfect, the environment, the location and the room. The staff at the reception is amazing, always very friendly and helpful. A particular thank you to Lejla and Cinti for an amazing surprise, it really made my stay in Budapest unforgettable. I will have to come back to Budapest for a longer stay :) "

Budapest Panorama Central
05. City Center - Belváros,Budapest - View on map
"budapest panorama central is on the 3rd floor of a historic looking building located close to the main transport center. the hotel is situated only a few minutes of walking from the astoria metro station on the metro red line. the budapest panorama central has only 12 rooms and we had confirmation for two nights during 26-28 april but we were informed by agoda that we had to move to an alternative apartment because it was fully booked. we had to re-book the budapest panorama central on 1 may and we were pleased with the hotel. this is a great value for the price we paid although the entrance is a bit old and not very nice but once you arrive the hotel which has been completely renovated in good design. the room and bed are clean, well serviced and our bathroom has a nice jacuzzi. the staff were very friendly and helpful. "after having been in 3 stars hotels in Pecs, budapest on other areas in Hungary, this 4 stars hotel is far over the standards. May be, not as good as a 4 star in west Europe but certainly a 5 Star for Hungary"

Hotel President
05. City Center - Belváros,Budapest - View on map
"The stay was pleasant despite the fact that the staff at the rooftop bar was relatively unfriendly and had no service-mind. The room was small but very practical and the bed was comfortable. We had a wonderful breakfast, lots of choices from tasty warm and cold selections, the staffs at the breakfast room were very thoughtful, attentive and friendly. There is a wellness club and swimming pool at the Basement of the hotel, but with our booking, we were't entitled to use them, or unless we pay around EUR 15,- per person per day, which we found it, ridiculous for the guest to pay such amount to enter to the swimming pool at the hotel. The receptionists were helpful, though some speak little English, they tried much and put lots of efforts for us, so that we had an enjoyable stay in Budapest, thanks to the young receptionist girl, who were very friendly and attentive. About the location, we love it, the hotel located at the prime-business location of Budapest, very safe area to walk at night and all day long, only less than 2 minutes to US Embassy and a few minutes walk to the Metro Station and less than 10 minutes to Parliament House. Overall we are fairly happy with our stay at The President Hotel. Personally, we rate this hotel 3.5 stars. "

Traveler impressions of Budapest

More about Budapest

Hungary's ancient capital, Budapest is rich in history, stunning architecture, and a vibrant culture. Budapest is served by Ferihegy International Airport which is located east of Budapest and connected to the city by train, bus, or taxi.

Budapest is divided into two parts; Buda on the western and Pest on the eastern banks of the Danube River. Both sides are easily accessible by metro, tram, bus, and water taxi. Budapest budget hotels and five-star luxury hotels can be found on both sides of the river. Older, more affordable hotels are predominantly in Buda, while modern high-end hotels are more likely to be found in Pest.

The Royal Palaceis one of the most popular attractions, located on top of the suitably named Castle Hill. After exploring the palace, don't miss a visit to the National Museum and enjoy a coffee on the terrace. A popular outdoor activity is a visit to the Labyrinth, which was formed by natural hot springs and transformed into a raid shelter during World War II.

Shopping is available all over the city and tends to be more quaint in Pest, while the more modern shops are found in Buda. After a long day of shopping and sightseeing, unwind at one of Hungary's traditional bath houses.

Dinning in Budapest is full of many exciting options, and it's an experience not to be missed. Pest is home to the famous Great Market Hall, a large area where small traditional eateries can be found and where locals and travelers can enjoy a hearty meal.

There’s much more to see and learn about Budapest, and the interactive map is a great way to continue exploring all the important landmarks and attractions of this vibrant city.
