Chai Nat is a small provincial city that boasts one attraction, the national Bird Park, which is the largest aviary in South East Asia (according to them.
) They also incorporate a very good aquarium with a good variety of fish & marine life for a place of this size, and are in the process of constructing a water park that should be fun when completed. There is not much to see in downtown Chai Nat. There is, as in most Thai cities, a night market, and a couple of passable restaurants. There is also a modern shopping centre on Route 340 with a Tesco department store/supermarket, and a food court with a Swenson's Ice Cream Parlour and a KFC, along with traditional Thai food stalls. There is a small municipal park on the Chao Phraya river, a couple of Buddhist temples, and a Big Buddha near the Bird park on Phaholyothin Road, a golf driving range somewhere (not a golfer, myself) and that's about it. Lovely country, very friendly people and a slice of the "real" Thailand, but not much more.
