Although the Matthew Flinders Motel is getting on and a bit shabby, it is quite serviceable and the bed was very comfortable. It is on a huge block set back from the highway just out of Coonabarabran, so it is remarkably quiet. It has a large swimming pool that is very refreshing after a long drive.
Our family of 6 stayed at Sally's place at the Warrumbungles Mountain Motel for 4 nights whilst exploring the surrounding area. It was conveniently located on the road to the Warrumbungles (and accessible to Coonabarabran for supplies). Our family room was spacious (for mum, dad and 4 teens), clean and ample with an adequate kitchenette equipped with everything we need...
Would like to see water saving devices on the shower heads particularly as it is a drought out that way.
Motel is close to Warrumbungle nation park and 3 mins to CBD and nice friendly staff. Satisfied for small town motel. Room quite small for family.
great cheap place to stay. tea and coffee available, clean room and bathroom, friendly staff. If you want to stay in a pub, this is good value for money.
I stayed over 2 nights and found the establishment clean, staff friendly, beds comfortable. I did not eat at the dining room but it appeared to be well patronised. The motel is well positioned near centre of town close to all amenities. i would be staying there on my return
