Find Hotels in Ende, Indonesia

We were very happy the hotel was easy to find! We got the basics we needed a hot shower, good breakfast and wifi. We ended up booking twice with this hotel and the owners were very friendly and helped us book a hotel in another town. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel, but book in advance as rooms fill up quickly.

As our guide said, this property is one of the best accommodations in surrounding area to visit the famous Kelimutu Crater Lakes. Staffs were really helpful during our stay there, as well as the comfortable and clean bedroom. The property also serves lunch/dinner at their on-site restaurant. However, it is advisable to order food early if you do not want to wait too long. Worth noting that the average time to prepare a decent food in Nusa Tenggara's restaurants, based on our group experiences, is about 45 to 90 minutes. This is quite a long time compared to other touristic destinations in Indonesia. The property does not provide wi-fi facilities considering its status as an eco-lodge. Additionally, if there is anything to be improved, certainly is the bathroom in our room. In summary, we can conclude that we are quite satisfied with our experience of staying here.

Without a doubt the best place we have ever stayed in indonesia . This is a family run business and the family are all wonderful , so cheerful honest and helpful. The owner Moses was very kind and helped us a lot . We had a bad time in Ruteng with people trying to rip off tourists all the time so it was a relief to meet Moses and his family and ask them for info on tours etc and get clear honest information and advice. We actually ended up doing a tour with the owner because we really wanted to learn something rather than just be taken to places and we didnt regret it , the tour was fantastic. My partner had a bad flu during our stay and Moses”s wife was very sweet and brought him some medicine . We booked 1 night initially but ended up staying 3. I really feel this place was our home away from home and will genuinly miss them and their great hospitality . The food in the restaurant was great also , especially the fried chicken ! Sad to leave !

This place was more expensive than some of the other places on the road, but in my opinion, worth it! I traveled fairly budget during most of my time on Flores, so a nice room with a hot water shower was a delight to have for my time in Moni. The host was very helpful and willing to help me book transport to Kelimutu if I needed it and was helpful in helping me get a shared taxi to Maumere after my visit. There is no wifi in Moni, so make sure you have a Sim card if you want data during your time here. It's right next door to Mopi's Place, which is a great place to hang out at any time of day. There is live music at Mopi's lasting until 9 or 10, which wasn't a problem for me at all, but if you plan on going to bed early and are a light sleeper you may not want to stay here (but the live music is great, you should be next door listening to it anyway!). I'm seeing some reviews about breakfast - the host didn't mention breakfast to me, so they may have stopped serving it.

We really enjoyed Moni and I think Lopez played a big part in this! Thecplace itself is simple but enough with good views on the countryside and short walks to the main street of Moni and to a waterfall. Lopez can arrange pretty much everything for your visit of Moni and Kelimutu, and for going to your next destination. But the best things were the dinners we prepared and enjoyed together with Lopez and his family and with the other guests... We will never forget that! Very relax place and host, you feel like your part of the family. Don't hesitate, go to the Geckos!

We arrived at 6pm in the evening and there was no-one as reception, after shouting for 5 minutes the receptionist came out. She looked really pissed off liked we'd woken her up in the middle of the night. She didn't (or wouldnt') speak English so our taxi driver translated. She denied that they take online bookings and that we would have to pay again, and then tried to charge 500,000Rp when we had booked online for 350,000rp. We we're showed a room that had more mold on it than anything i'd seen before, and quite clearly they had a problem with water leaking through the ceiling, which looked liked it was about to collapse. The 'hotel' had a really bad vibe and i felt our stuff wouldn't be safe there, it's also about 10 minutes walk about of town - on a dark road that you wouldn't want to walk at night. All in all it was so bad that we stayed somewhere else!! We ended up with a nicer room for half the price.

The stay was great. The only problem (which applies to all places in Ende) is a cloud of insects that get into the room as soon as the door opens in the evening. The room is basic, but clean and the owner makes sure that you are comfortable during your stay.

We have booked a room and payed in front with credit card. When we came, the receptionist was sleeping and we spent 15 min to wake him up. He did not speak any english and he would not understand the room is PREpaid. Than he called his little sister, who was 10 years old and spoke few words english. While we were trying to explain her the payment situation, he was sleeping on the counter. The rooms are very dirty, especially toilets. Don't go there!

Dirty room, awfull tualet, real location near Kelimutu, not near airport. We arrive when all Moni celebrate something, owner of hotel,that we book lost and nobody speaks english and almost everyone, so we were happy,that we find this hotel. The owner was funny but he not so bad in speaking english. We go to room,then he lost. We have no water, no bed linens. Night was great :)

We stayed 2 nights at the Antoneri lodge and used it as a base for Kelimutu. The owner is a very friendly and helpful person who does everything he can to make sure you like your stay. He personally drove us to Mt Kelimutu at 0430 in the morning and also fixed us a driver back to Ende at a good price, making sightseeing stops along the way. The rooms are simple (don't expect 5 star luxury in Moni), clean and stay pretty cool in the Moni heat (fan included). I would definitely recommend the Antoneri lodge to anyone going to Moni.
