I booked an accessible room (all other rooms were sold out). It was on the third floor and could not have been further from the elevator (over 100m walk) and only one hand rail in the bathroom. If I were in a wheelchair and there was a fire I would die as there is no way I could get that far and then also take the stairs. Or if my mother (right side paralysis) booked t...

Hotel du Vin is known throughout the UK as a quirky 'boutique-ish' hotel (it is not small like most boutiques - but scores high in intelligent design and bespoke environments). This Hotel du Vin in Exeter was no exception to that rule - bespoke with heated swimming pool where the water moves gently between the indoors and outdoors, excellent REN spa treatments (and pr...

A great hotel, ideally located next to bus stops with a 10 minute trip into Exeter and lovely riverside walks to the quays. Great staff, well appointed, clean and reliable. It is easy to get to from the Motorway and we have found that it's always the same (comfy, welcoming and you know you're going to have a good stay), that's why we use it time and time again

Nice looking town house just outside the city centre, new central station. Parking on road out front with a permit provided by staff, useful as Exeter can be a pain to park! The staff were friendly, but the room quite small. The whole place was clean. Breakfast was great, served in a light and airy dining room. Like most British B&B's it is quite expensive

The Southgate Hotel in Exeter was a most enjoyable experience. It's location on the fringe of the main shopping area was good. The hotel itself was spacious and comfortable. Our room was sufficently large enough, with piped sound from the TV. into the shower room! The overnight stay was relaxing and the breakfast the following morning offered everything that one could ...

I didn't know it was actually IN a pub when I booked it, but actually that wasn't a problem at all. It was very quiet at night and the service at the bar/front desk was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and clean, although the common areas were a little worn. The food in the pub was good as far as standard pub fare goes. All in all a good choice for Exeter I think....

The rooms are lovely with many goods pubs nearby. I was sent information in advance that made the stay easy and enjoyable. The cancellation policy would be the only quibble, because if your plans change even a couple of weeks in advance you still get charged the full rate. Otherwise great.

This was a last minute afair and was purely for an overnight stop to catch a flight the next morning. Hotel was clean and friendly staff, upon arrival there was some Christmas party going on but the rooms were well away. My room was very spacious and the bed was very big and comfortable. Breakfast was the standard you would expect in a British 3 star hotel and was o...

Braeside was perfect for our long weekend, easily accesible after a long drive and convenient nearby parking (easy to get a permit from the guesthouse). Room was great, clean. Breakfast was good, lots of options and staff were really firendly and helpful. Highly recommended

We stayed in a ground floor apartment, which was lovely and had its own garden area. But the sound proofing wasn't very good from the upstairs apartment above us. We could hear every time they opened/closed their door/s & their t.v. The main bed not comfortable, to lumpy. All in all though, we were made very welcome. We would come and stay again, but in a different roo...

Fabulous. Owner of the B&B, Lorraine Hart, was a most accommodating and friendly host who exuded professionalism with the perfect dose of warmth that was a winning combination. Her place is also extremely central to the Exeter town centre and 5 min from the main train station. She's kept the place immaculately clean and decor is cozy and pretty. She also makes an aw...

Traveler impressions of Exeter
Efficient place. The amenities and attractions are all conveniently located. The shops are well run and one of the best Boots stores I visited in England.
Great town, friendly people, a variety of restaurants available. If you have the time, go for a drive to the quay, or to the coast.
Is a friendly city with like most of Devon a relaxed way of life, good shopping for a small city, with both chain stores and independent shops; the food and dinning is excellent with local food being key in most restaurants in Exeter.
This is a quiet-ish city but it still has a vibe about it. It has a night-life, although, as with every city, one does have to be careful in areas.
Exeter is the quiet and safe place for who want to study places. good environment and the people also very polite, actually I stay for 2 weeks in Exeter, cause my eldest daughter go study.
