Traveling to Italy? Find Florence hotels

This is our third time stay in C-hotels in Florence. Twice in Ambassador and once in Joy hotel around the corner! Don't know where to start or stop complimenting this hotel as we are just in love with staying here every time. Excellent staff, special mention to Matteo at the front desk as he was a legend this time round... location superb just across the train station and close to all amenities... Excellent Trattoria restuarant below next door which we ate at every day we were there!!! Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Florence:-)

One of the distinguished hotel in Florence with the friendly, respected, honored staffs. The breakfast was delicious various dishes.

The location of the hotel was very convenient for us as we were traveling by train. It was on the street directly opposite the train station about 5 minute walk. The concierge was standing at the gate and helped us in with our luggage something we didn't experience in any of the 4 star hotels in Italy. Check in was quick. The room itself was very nice and clean and very modern and spacious. The best room we had in Italy 4 star hotels. Also the breakfast only includes what's on the menu and if you even order an omelette you would have to pay for it and you are not told about this when you place the order. They just get you the bill after they get the food. I was used to ordering an omelette without any charges so something to keep in mind. Rest of it was good. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

this is the best hotel we have stayed for our Italy trip. I can say this hotel is really out of our expectations and the design is really trendy and unique. Also, the location of the hotel is superb,, close to the central station as well as those sightseeing spots. Its so nice to stay here with my boyfriend. Everything is great except there is no lift to reach to fifth and sixth Floor. Since our room is on 6/F, we have to carry our suitcases and climb the stairs which is a little bit tough...but this really doesn't matter, we will surely recommend to our friends of this nice hotel in Florence!

We were unfortunately the victim of a disappearing landlord in Cinque Terre in the middle of our Italy trip. We luckily found a superb room at the hotel in Florence to fill the gap. The staff was excellent and provided great service.

i stayed 5 nights here and this hotel is the best! they have fresh breakfast and strict safety system! Among a lots of good points, the best are people working in hotel rapallo!! Including Alexandro and Regina, everyone in hotel rapallo are so nice and tje best people i met in florence!

The 5 of us stayed for 4 nights and the experience was superb. We love the rooms...the size was good and the decor simple and clean. There s also a small balcony in our units. The staff at the reception were efficient and courteous. Location was excellent as it s only 5 mins away from Firenze SMN train station. There are many restaurants along the street and there s a huge food market and leather market nearby. Exploring Florence from the hotel is relatively easy. Would definitely stay there again if we return to Florence.

In a last minute decision traveling through Italy, we wanted to stay in Florence for just a night. Booking online at a busy time of year, they were unable to fill our reservation when we arrived- but(!) they upgraded us to their nicest suite honoring our online rate! With charm and humor, they treated us very well and were extremely helpful. Great choice!

Hotel reception staff, Alan, was very friendly and helpful with our check-in. He also gave us an overview of Florence- places to visit and dine. Will definitely return to stay in this hotel again.

We enjoyed our three night stay here. Was super close to the train station in Florence and was walking distance to the main shopping/restaurant district however is a walk. Give yourself 5-10 mins to get in to the action from this hotel. Great breakfast option, probably the best we had from any hotel during our travels.

While still a part of the historical center of Florence, I find that this place is in the periphery of the city center where tourists tend to flock. Nonetheless, anyone with a good pair of legs will find this hotel to be located within a reasonable distance. It is in the same block as the Church of Santa Croce but it is a big block. I walk slow to appreciate the place more. So this is a good 10 minute walk from the church to the hotel. This place is predominantly white. And it was very interesting that the white interiors gave a vision of more space of what it could have been had the walls been painted differently. I thought that the interior design was very refreshing given that this was once noble home of a Florentine family. By and large, the staff I met were very capable. Very helpful. With very good education, work experience and reasonable knowledge of good places to see in this magnificent city. Most come from different parts of Italy and are quite interesting to chat with about this city and the history of the country, at large. They also attract a very good set of clients. A more sophisticated lot. And generally, in their late 30s to early 50s. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were excellent. The Aircon worked good in my room and so did the other features of the room like the 32" flat screen TV, etc. Cons : - the pillows were too flat and seemed overused for me. - the bathroom shower does not have a full enclosure hence water splattered when I showered. - there was not enough space to put my toiletries. A couple of shelves would have been useful.

Built during the Renaissance period the building and its rooms are old, but so is Florence. This hotel is in a perfect location with just short walk to sightseeing locations, markets, shops and eateries. Staff here are the best we have ever encountered. Very friendly and willing to help. Be warned there is no lift but they have a porter who will carry bags. This hotel has a wine cellar that was built in 1400’s and yes they will open a bottle.

We stayed here for 4 nights initially in the 3rd week of Aug 2016 and we loved the hotel and its feel, so much that we came back for an over nighter the following week. It is walking distance from the train station (pro tip: the underground tunnel from Firenze SMN exits directly in front of the hotel, so no need to drag luggage on the side walk). Rooms are well appointed, if a little dark because of all the wood and have full facilities like a mini-bar, closet space, luggage area, etc. and are spacious. Toilets are good sized as well. The breakfast area has a great view of the duomo and an average spread, enough to get you by. The stand out for us was the excellent customer service we got (and we were very demanding!), the concierge desk is fantastic (Particularly Linda & Leonardo at the front desk), they were able to help us get a suit altered, a tux rented, an emergency mani-ped organised and "insider" preferred customer service at all the places we were referred to (at reasonable rates). It is located centrally and is an easy 10-20 min walk to most places you would hit up in Florence (under 10 min walk to Duomo, Uffizi, Galleria Academe, and several noted piazzas). Already came back ! definitely recommend.

Hotel is right in the middle of town. No need for taxi. Rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was great! We didn't get our luggage for 3 days and the staff brought us all the essentials we would need until our luggage arrived. They even called the airlines for us. The spa is great! My husband and I had hot stone massages. Well worth the price, which was very reasonable. Breakfast was very good. If ever we are back in Florence, I will book at the Continentale.

Beside the river, bridge and near central Florence. Hotel is very stylish that tourist would stop to take photo for it. Room is spacious and staff is nice. Need to consider if you drive there, although carpark is provided with charges, the road to reach the hotel are all restricted area and likely you would get ticket if you don't have permit.

It is the most charming hotel we have ever been to! The building is in the heart of the Florence and it is 800 years old! It has so many original details! Beautiful garden is simply perfect to start your day in with a perfect cup of coffee and snacks amazing breakfast! As well it is a perfect place to have a spritz after a long day of walking and side seeing. Staff is friendly. Erica was so helpful and knowledgeable. She covered every question from the history of the hotel and Florence to the safe banking and shopping places! Love her attitude and passion! Location of the hotel is amazing. Short walking distance to all major attractions! Hotel is clean and I loved the smell ( it is important for me 😃❤) We will come back for sure. We found our happy place in Florence.

The hotel has been built round the oldest tower in Florence and the decoration has an eclectic feeling that compliments both old and new.The service was a friendly and professional standard.Food it Italy is never a problem and the Hotel just endorsed that.One of the most important reasons for choosing this hotel is it's Perfect position. Florence is a walking City and from this hotel it makes it even easier to move around and visit all the Museums and Churches and Gallery's. Only one negative comment little or no draw space in the room. This is a little jewel in the heart of a beautiful city.I think would have been very proud of this Italian Masterpiece!

this hotel is very very good location. 5 - 10 minutes walk from train station. 5-10 minutes walk to duomo and academia gallery. 15 minutes walk to uffizi gallery. very perfect location. we got room 605 - can see the top of duomo. but if you can ger 7th floor , shoud be better. the room quite clean and new. service is good. the hotel staff are very helpful. internet is quite fast, you can ask password from the counter. just only little thing..the heater not warm enough for people from tropical coutry like us. but its still ok. and just little note : the city tax at florence will cost accordding to star of the hotel. tax city for this hotel 4 euro/person/day. we reccomend you to choose this hotel when you visit florence.

When you got lost around the city and you're trying to beat the checkout time of 12noon, the sweetest thing you'll hear from the reception staff is "it's absolutely ok, take your time, madam". This is how friendly and warm the staff is at Star Hotels Michaelangelo, looking after their guests. When I arrived from an early morning flight from Paris, like many of the hotels, they offered to store my luggage and was told they will inform me via call or email when my room is ready. I was pleasantly surprised that after a few minutes, the lady at the front desk informed me that my room is ready.  The location of the hotel is very convenient, about 10 mins away from the tourist crowd in the historical center. The hotel is just a 2 min walk to either the bus or tram stop. I preferred to take the C2 bus as it stops literally a block away from the Duomo.  The rooms are modern and has all the amenities, the toilet even has a bidet seat. The lobby had a massage chair which was welcome treat after all the walking around the city.  Breakfast choices are basic but the highlight for the breakfast for me was the chocolate croissant, warm, buttery, flaky and had chocolate and hazelnut filling, it was one of the best i tasted.  I would definitely be back to Starhotels Michaelangelo if I find myself in Florence again. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in the centre of Firenze with most of the attractions right at your doorstep. The staff were excellent and friendly and the room was very comfortable with a character that lets you feel the life of the city. Overall a very good choice if you are going to Florence.

Two nights here and I am bowled over by this hotel. Staff are great, friendly and knowledgeable (special mention for Alessia on reception), excellent breakfast selection and spotless, comfortable room with very efficient aircon and powerful shower. After a day sightseeing in the heat and crowds, the rooftop pool was a godsend to cool off, lots of people enjoying it so it's a splash around rather than a swim. But sitting up there with feet cooling in the water, glass of red wine in hand and watching the evening sun light up the whole of Florence, what could be better? 5 minute walk to the Duomo (go early as the queues are horrendous) and all the major sights are walkable easily, the rail station (for both trains and buses) is also very close. Hotel is on large square with minimal traffic noise. Maybe I was very lucky and got a late booking at a good rate, but it was incredible value for such a good hotel. Extras (pool bar etc) are not cheap, but Florence is not a cheap city. Highly recommend and hope to go back with husband next time (travelling with son). Thank you for a superb stay and making our visit to Florence so memorable.

Hotel Tornabuoni Beacci was a very well located hotel in Florence, near everything. The rooms are ample , except our bathroom was very small. It was hard to open and close the door to get out. The hotel is very clean. The service could be more friendly and attentive. The receptionist was adequate, The female head staff was efficient. There was no one to help with our bags when we checked in or early check out. Since the hotel was old and had various uneven level; it was very hard to carry all of our luggage. All of it was charming but there should have been adequate staffing and explanation of the layout. If one has a lot of luggage, impaired or elderly that could be a even bigger problem. The outdoor area is lovely. The only problem was the staff at the bar were not too interested in making us comfortable. We were told the bar closed 11pm . We came in, much earlier the male waiting staff were indifferent. If the hotel could improve on these things it would be a plus.

The location, and price of this hotel was amazing. The staff was amazing, they were so helpful, and super personable. Very easy to talk to and share a laugh with. The Hotel was great. We had a great room overlooking the side narrow streets of Florence with a view of the Duomo. We woke with the bells in the morning, and opened the shutters to beautiful blue skys and views of Florence architecture. The hotel was a little walk from the Santa Maria Novella Station, but close to everything else. Less than 5 minutes to the Duomo, and the Uffuzi!

great professional service, great central location good breakfast clean prompt attention for reqursts. mastery of foreign languages and very hospitable stuff. great location at the center of florence by the ponte vecchio does not get better than that

Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, plus we got upgraded to a bigger room. Staff helped arrange our day tours and train bookings. Hotel is very close to the tourist attractions of Florence and also to the central train station. Very convenient... would stay there again.

Great stay. We really appreciated the modern room design and level of cleanliness in the hotel, which is hard to come by in Europe for this budget level. This is in a decent location with easy access to public transportation into center of Florence. Hotel should provide free wifi though, that was slightly inconvenient.

Very nice hotel that is fairly close , to all the nice places to see in florence , (Bus 22) . very clean new updated location . I only spent one night in it an it was excellent .

I was upgraded from a standard room to an executive room for free. A surprisingly large and comfortable room, after warning my traveling companion of the size of European hotels. The staff offered advice and help before I thought of asking. I've read many reviews relating the rudeness of staff at many Italian hotels. I've found that most Italians aren't generally rude but grow more impatient as the number of our requests grow. So if you come to Italy prepared they are more than happy to help you over the bumps that occur. On the other hand if you expect to be spoon fed every step of the way you'll encounter a lot of "rude" Italians.

We loved every part of our stay at Hotel Milu! My husband and I traveled here for a "second honeymoon" and wanted something nice but reasonably-priced, and not too far from the central area of Florence. This was a perfect choice. It is chic, modern, clean, upscale, and is only a couple streets tucked away from the piazzas. It may not always be super quiet at night when you're inside the room, but I didn't mind the ambient noise from the street below, it really wasn't bad at all. They also have the best service and employees here- SO helpful in everything- from making reservations for trains, massages, museum/daytrip tours, dinners, etc. They gave suggestions for local restaurants which weren't as "touristy", which we appreciated. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful, and they always had a smile while going above and beyond for us. We even extended our stay for 2 days here because they were so great. Thank you for the most wonderful stay, Hotel Milu!!

We had an excellent stay for a visit to Florence. Staff was great, breakfast buffet was very good, shuttle bus made the daytime journey into Florence easy. Taxi for 2 at night back to hotel was about 15 euro. Room was nice and comfortable with good amenities. We could have used a little extra space but booked the standard double.
