Grand Hotel Downtown
Central Station,Frankfurt am Main - View on map
"Really nice hotel-room for a surprisingly good bargain. All necessities included like hair-dryer, towels soap etc. Also quite comfy beds, and situated as centrally as one could get in Frankfurt. However - the hotel is situatated in probably one of the worst areas of Frankfurt, with drugs, prostitutes and drunks just outside the lobby (albeit in the middle of Frankfurt, close to the train station). The bathroom had a sewer-like odour, so they definitely need to get that fixed. The ventilation system was also stationary, so we needed to open the windows for fresh air. Thankfully we were at the upper floors on a sunday night - and were not bothered by noise. Cleanliness was top notch in the room, but not jack-pot due to the smell of the bathroom. All in all satisified - the low price considered."

Fleming's Hotel Frankfurt Main-Riverside

"We traveled all over Germany for 2 weeks and stayed in 6 different hotels and the Flemings Hotel was by far our favorite. The hotel staff always went above and beyond. The rooms were very nice. Loved the breakfast. The gal at the front desk thought it was going to rain when we were headed out, so she checked her phone and was going to give us an umbrella if we needed it. Super thoughtful. "

Savoy Hotel
Central Station,Frankfurt am Main - View on map
"Perfect location for long haul travellers doing a stopover in Frankfurt. Located across the road from the main Frankfurt train station, you can jump a train directly from Frankfurt airport and for 5 euro in 15 minutes be at the door of the Savoy. Get a good nights rest in their comfortable bed & cross the road to jump on the hop on off bus to see everything Frankfurt has to offer. Jump off the bus at the river and take a river cruise then back on the bus which will take you back to the hotel. We stayed 2 nights en route from Australia and had a fantastic stopover. Would highly recommend the Savoy...oh and dont forget to check out the Savoy Wellness Centre at the hotel it is a bit dated but still very functional and has beautiful views. "

NH Frankfurt Niederrad
Niederrad,Frankfurt am Main - View on map
"My husband and I stayed on 17-18 June and 23 June. Rooms are modestly priced and amply accomplish the major tasks of a hotel, to provide a safe, clean, comfortable, and quiet place to sleep and shower. Front desk staff was quite helpful, allowing us to leave our baggage at the hotel while we were touring, as we arrived long before the check-in time. The hotel offers van service to and from the airport - free from the airport, 5 Euros to airport. The hotel is one stop from the Frankfurt Hauptbonhof (central train station). There are supermarkets right next to the hotel, with a decent Indian Curry restaurant very nearby. Free (slow) wifi is available; I gather premium wifi is available for an additional price. Downsides were that the breakfast at 20+ Euros was overpriced, as was the restaurant on location. The neighborhood, while perfectly safe, is also perfectly boring, with little to attract a tourist - though there do appear to be some community flower gardens near the hotel. The train station is a 15 minute walk, as are restaurant options beyond the hotel and the Indian curry place. (I like Indian food, so I was perfectly happy to eat at the nearby restaurant.) And the limited wi-fi and computer facilities may not work well for business travelers. But these are relatively minor quibbles. NH Frankfurt Niederrad does not merit 5 stars in my opinion, but it's a good, solid, reliable 4-star option. I would gladly stay there again!"

Scandic Frankfurt Museumsufer
Central Station,Frankfurt am Main - View on map
"The room design was really good. I like when you wake up open the curtain and you see the skyline of Frankfurt. The bed is very comfortable and every single detail in the room is German standard, creative design and great quality. You have many free movies to watch which is nice. Those movies are not old at all. One thing is they don't offer slippers which usual 4 star hotel would. Breakfast is worth the price and especially on Sunday when you don't have many places open in Frankfurt. Like the hotel overall. "

"We stayed for one night but if we had known it was almost brand new we would of booked a different place. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the station and it was not a nice walk and you had to cross large intersections. There is nothing around the hotel if you want to go out and eat. We took a taxi to a local restaurant. "

Traveler impressions of Frankfurt am Main

More about Frankfurt am Main

Frankfurt is truly a city of contrasts. Monolithic skyscrapers sit beside traditional half-timbered houses and centuries-old cathedrals. And, though many remnants of Frankfurt's past remain, the city is one of the chief financial and business centers of Europe. As such, it's just as popular a destination for business as it is for tourism, and the high standard of services and technology offered at Frankfurt hotels reflects this. Frankfurt am Main International Airport is the gateway into the city, so hotels near Frankfurt Airport are always close to full capacity, as are hotels in Bahnhofsviertel, where Frankfurt train station is located.

Frankfurt, like many European cities, is connected by a vast subway network that is both efficient and easy to navigate. Trains provide easy access to historical areas such as Romerberg with its gorgeous old buildings from the 14th and 15th centuries, and the area of Museumsufer where the Museum of Regional Historic Art and Culture, the German Archietecture Museum, and the Jewish Museum can be found.

Winding through the center of Frankfurt is the beautiful Main River. One of the bigger tributaries of the Rhine, Main River is flanked by wide pathways and green spaces where visitors can enjoy a brisk walk and take in some of Frankfurt's best scenery.
