More about Great Ocean Road - Apollo Bay

The town of Apollo Bay is a seaside destination set halfway along the Great Ocean Road. It is here on the slopes of the Otway ranges that this paradise by the sea offers a range of activities to enjoy the natural wonders – both on land and in the sea. The trip to Apollo Bay is a trip in itself thanks to the scenic drive provided by the Great Ocean Road.

Water lovers and landlubbers have plenty to do in Apollo Bay. Water sports are in full force and provide different ways to enjoy the coast. The Twelve Apostles are a gorgeous major attraction that is the climax of the incredible drive it takes to reach the destination. A grander view can be had by taking an aviation tour that will cover Apollo Bay, the Twelve Apostles, as well as Cape Otway Lighthouse – the oldest surviving lighthouse in mainland Australia. Breaking away from the typical getaway, there is the Great Ocean Walk which offers more than 100 kilometers of trail through rainforests and seaside towns with designated campsites along the way. Marriner’s Lookout provides spectacular town and coast views, and Maits Rest is where to go for a rainforest walk and a chance to see glow worms.
