Best hotels & accommodations in Magnetic Island

Climbing up 36 steps with a 20kg suitcase wasn’t fun. Neither was sitting in the bar for 4 hours waiting for the room to be available (I know, I know - this is what they advertise but I’ve never had it happen to me before). A great place to stay with my grandson & his mum - overall we had a good fun time on Magnetic Island. Sri - one of the bar/dining staff was very pl...

We had a great stay of 6 nights. We loved the location and the rooms. It was perfect for us - there were three of us but the apartment could easily accommodate 6. It was quiet, had great facilities, and close to all that Magnetic Island has to offer. We will certainly look to stay at Sails next time we visit. Maggie. I don't normally provide these Reviews but we were s...

I gave this place 10 stars so obviously everything was great here and I had an amazing time, I just want to make two comments - 1. The wifi is absolutely useless, they charge $4 a day but it's so slow you can barely use it. Absolute waste of money. Get a sim card instead. 2. There was one staff member who seemed to be acting very fake-nice and underlying that seemed ar...

Our fifth time in six years on Magnetic Is for a week of total relaxation. As it coincided with school holidays we were restricted in accomodation options. The Arcadia Village proved to be a real find. The room was great (we chose upstairs with view of Geofrey Bay), the staff were friendly ,professional, and always helpful when required. There is a pub attached, a n...

being very close to the ferry was great just a short walk to our apartment, we also had great help from the staff nothing was to much trouble, the island itself was fantastic drove a open roof moke which was a lot of fun. i certainly would not hesitate to tell people about magnet island i for one will come again and stay at the grand mercure.

We stayed in one of the en suite room ensuite 3. We were told that was the best room! It was really clean and looked freshly painted. Had a fridge air con and a fan, originally only supposed to stay 2 nights on magnetic island after visiting bungalow bay we changed to 3! ;-)

Our time here was lovely except we encountered an issue when at 1:30am the people staying in the villa directly above decided to drag furniture across the floor, shout, play music and disrupt everyone else. I had two young children that kept being woken up frightened due to the noise and had to deal with the noise from 1:30-5am. I did try contacting the emergency phone...

Only stayed a short time but it was beautiful. Recently renovated, comfy bed, nice bathroom. It had everything I needed and wanted. The location was alittle off the Main Street but we hired a topless car so it was perfect. No noise and plenty of wildlife. Will stay definitely stay here again next time I come to Maggie island.

I really enjoyed my short stay at Amaroo and will definitely come back. When I arrived at the ferry terminal I didn't know how convenient and easy it is to use the bus and assumed I'd just take a taxi. Well, since there are only two taxi's on the island and you need to call them, I was looking at quite a wait. I called the Amaroo and they dropped everything to come pic...

The hostel was in a lovely location at picnic bay, over the road from the bus stop with easy access to the rest of the island and a 2 minute walk to picnic bay beach and shops. The staff, especially the manager Brett, were friendly and always happy to share their local knowledge. We were visited by possums every night and rainbow lorakeets every morning out on the vera...

The owners are an excellent couple who will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. They made several calls for me over the course of the stay and suggested several viable options to me when my original plans were not doable. They drove me to the ferry when they knew I was struggling with luggage. Just one of the best options for Magnetic Island Paul Deca...

I have stayed in several B&B and True North would have to be the best. It was an absolutely beautiful facilities and everything you need. the Hosts were lovely and very hospitable. Deb even went out of her way to drive my elderely mother and I down to the road to save my mum walking. would definitely recommend and stay there on my next visit to magggie island.

We have just returned from our trip to Australia, the first 4 days were spent at Canopy. Magnetic Island is the most amazing place, and i think Canopy is the best island retreat. Walking distance to the beach and other facilities, with a bus that picks you up outside the resort and takes you to the two beaches with stinger nets. Allen, who runs the chalets was SO helpf...

A very good price for the Townhouse. A couple of issues, 1 toilet would not flush on 2 occasions so a plumber needed, Also water dripping from ceiling in Living Room. The location is good, great views & comfortable rooms. The pool in the complex is small.

We loved Sunbird Retreat! The house itself is well stocked and presented, with loads of kitchen supplies, plus comfy beds and couches. We spent quite a few hours on the front porch, making use of the rocking chairs and sun loungers. Not to mention feeding the wildlife - the wallabies at dawn and dusk were brilliant, coming to drink out of the pond at the back of the h...

Traveler impressions of Magnetic Island
Families live on Magnetic Island and send their kids to school on the ferry every day to Townsville. We took our car over so we could travel all around the island and found some awesome restaurants and site seeing/photo opportunities.
Think carefully about hiring a moke or a scooter because there's only 16k of sealed roads on the island, and only 4wds are allowed to West Point, Florence, Arthur and Radical bays.

The staff at the guest house are so friendly and helpful, that's what I like most about the place. They were more than willing to help, when we asked about all attractions on the island, the staff showed us a map that everything was written on the map in details, we knew exactly where we should go and how it should be. They are not kinda like ones who always want to su...
