Great place to visit, especially for nature lover. We had a great drive in the countryside. Really enjoy walking in the forest parks.
The people are very friendly and helpful. However we missed the whale watching season which ended in Nov.
Rent a car so you can take a leisurely drive along the coastline. The beaches are beautiful, uncrowded, and unspoiled.
I love the Betteney's Margaret River Nougat Company. The nougat and nougat liquor drinks are really nice and awesome.
The environment there is so cosy and and we had a relax afternoon over there.
Go to the wineries which provide amazing view. Don't forget to try the lavender ice cream which is very unique
Our highlights were 1. The Leeuwin Lighthouse tour in Augusta 2. The Gloucester Tree climb and others nearby.
It's more advisable to stay nearer to the wineries. Advisable for those who are interested to go winery visiting.
However it's at least 3 to 4 hours away from Perth city. So for those with a time constraint, it's advisable to visit the swan valley near Perth city instead to save town.
Margaret River is one of the best places in Australia. There are lots to do even if you are not interested in wine.
You can go on guided tour of the caves and light houses, visit and sample chocolates (Margaret River Choc Factory), fudge (Margaret River Fudge Factory), cheese (Margaret River Dairy Company) and even try out spa products at the Vasse Virgin. Do plan ahead and get maps at the Visitors Centre. Some attractions have a maximum number of people the guided tours can take. Opening and closing times also vary.
Beaches are beautiful and pristine, fishing is fantastic, caves are definitely worth checking out and eco resorts provide truly unique accommodation and experiences
Nice place to relax and enjoy the many wineries and animal farms are a great attraction to children who will have chance to interact with the many animals close up.
Great place for children.
visiting some of the local shops for great gifts is a must. consider driving to visit hamelin bay and cape leeuwin lighthouse.
cape lavender north of margaret river is a great stop for good tasting lavender scones and lavender jam!
This place is fantastic for family fun and very relaxing. The whole stay at Margaret river is enjoyable!
Margaret River has many nice places for sightseeing, including the wineries, breweries and factories.
Margaret River Wine Region is the place to go when you are in Western Australia. Fall in love with the wineries, breweries, factories within the area.
Not forgetting the beaches and caves where you will enjoy the beauty of the nature.
Great food, and great wine. Mid level spending (so not dirt cheap but still relatively cheap). Be prepared to go on the walks and tours - they are spectacular.
A great place to relax and enjoy the simple life outside the city. Very friendly people. Good food and wine, of course.
They have really biult up a region with interesting winerys and brewerys. Each one has it's own character.
Many classy wineries and restaurants, although the wines are on the expensive side. The attractions are spread over a wide area, so there is quite a lot of driving required to see it all.
Nice region to visit for the food and wine experience. Food in the wineries are not exactly cheap but is a must-try experience!
We stay in the animals farm during our visit in Margaret river. We get to feed all types of animals. We even witness the birth of a piglet.
Our children are big but they too found the feeding of animals are fun. The house that we stay uses wood fires. That we was quite new to our city family. We have a great time in Margaret river. There is two place one must see....the long jetty in Bussellton and tallest light house.
it is a place suitable to sight seeing esp if wine lover, one should try their wine :) superb place for wine tasting .
The Margaret River region is very picturesque, with beautiful beaches and fantastic breweries and wineries.
It has a fantastic chocolate shop called Gabrielles and fresh and delicious produce.
The best wineries that we went to were: Leeuwin / Voyager / Vasse Felix and Fraser Gallop. Out of which, Fraser Gallop was a private boutique vineyard and we had lunch in the middle of the wine storage ie; next to the barrels.
It was very special and was part of the day tour.
This area actually is one large vineyard. i was amazed by the numerous vineyard that entertain tourist and have wine tasting activities.
however, do not get misled by the region's name; though it maybe called wine region, there are numerous other attractions and factories to visit. A vehicle is a must, I do not remember there being a car rental store in this region. For surfers, looking at the map, there seem to be numerous surf zones within 30mins drive. For travel enthusiasts, major towns like Busselton are about an hour away.
Very picturesque. Whale watching in Augusta is a must. Cape to cape track is also an essential stop.
There's always lots do do in the region. Visit wineries, restaurants and boutique shops. The beaches are stunning and never crowded.
The surf is often good and the coastline is stunning. You realy feel like you get away from the world when you're in the region.
Margaret River is well known for its wineries, restaurants, caves, beaches and forests. These days you can add quite a number of breweries.
It does not disappoint. IO believe there is something for most age groups and most budgets.
This region is very well know for its fabulous wines, freshly pressed flavoured olive oils and gourmet dining.
If you havent seen this magnificent region you have not lived and must go!! Gorgeous national parks, surfing &jewel caves are many attractions on offer.
Make sure to leave enough time to visit both the wineries and the beach. Diving the HMAS SWAN is also an amazing experience.
Spend some time visiting the coastal sights too such as canal rocks and the local beaches
