Other than Beale street and the central Downtown area, there is not much to see. Gracelands and Sun Studios are well worth a visit.
This is a great city. If you love rock and roll' blues music, and of course Elvis Presley history then this city is for you.
It is very hot and sunny during July/August but still great.
We only spent a day in Memphis, but it was a very pleasant day. We started by visiting Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley.
That was a fun experience, well worth the price! After that we went to a BBQ place that a friend recommended to us. Some of the best BBQ pork ribs my wife and I ever had! The sides were really good too, very authentic Southern food. We didn't see too many nice shopping malls or anything. Actually, many parts of the city looked surprisingly run-down to us compared to bigger US cities. I know Memphis has a great music scene, so that's also something worth checking out.
