We had a wonderful Easter weekend in New Caledonia despite the less than favourable weather. It was a deluge of water essentially, but we made the most of it. Had a nice trip to Amatee Lighthouse Island and took the "Choo Choo Train" around the city. Had a sensational meal at the "Le Roof" restaurant overlooking the water - which coincidentally is directly across the...

I recently took my 19 year old daughter to Noumea for a short holiday in New Caledonia and booked Le Lagon for the entire 5 day stay. I was very happy with the choice, excellent double room, very clean, helpful and courteous staff, very good facilities, i.e. swimming pool, spa etc and most importantly , its location. Only 2 mins walk to the beach and close to very good...

Expensive but worth every cent. Try to stay at least 2-3 nights at this place, its worth it. Its expensive but do it, go for the bungalow over the water, that is the best place. Dont go half as in this resort, dont do the day trip and dont do the garden view, go all in, book the bungalow over the water for at least 2-3 nights. Watching the sunset at you bungalow and w...

For a hotel in the most expensive city I have ever stayed in this was good value. The rooms are very well laid out and comfortable with great facilities. The pool overlooks the beach and has a great ambience about it. Staff were extremely attentitave and even when one staff member stuffed up a tour booking another quickly solved the issue for me without delay. Noumea ...

The New Caledonia experience was a mixed bag. I think you have to appreciate the social structure and the present political situation to appreciate where New Caledonia is at. It appears that the indigenous people have voted against independence at the moment so all is on hold including capital works on a lovely hotel like the Hilton which has the best position in Noum...

My husband and I stayed Hotel Le Paris just one night a night before heading off to Ile des Pins. We arrived after midnight because of our international flight from Tokyo, and we had to leave 7am following day to take a domestic flight from Magenta airport. It was about 45 mins by car from La Tontouta airport around 11:30pm (we had arranged a private transport) and was...

This hotel is quite far from town, a 20,-30 minute bus ride. Nice hotel with self catering facilities, but be aware meat is very expensive in Noumea, so a kg of mince is about $20+, depending on where you get it. But if you want a relaxing holiday and with just reading & swimming in the pool this is a good place.

Firstly, we were pleasantly surprised to be given a room with such a lovely sea view, which was unexpected when arriving late at night. The hotel is so well situated and very comfortable, with a beautiful pool area. Also, the staff at Le Meridien Noumea are exceptional - a special thanks to Damien, Brendan and the girls on reception for making our stay so memorable. Th...

We had a pleasant stay at Casa del Sole, however there were many disappointing aspects, mainly relating to a lack of facilities. Do not expect modern conveniences such as hand towels, face washers, water glasses or to have someone empty your bin. The styling of the apartment would be considered 'minimalist' at best. The entire hotel is in desperate need of refurbishmen...

We stayed two nights in Noumea on our way from Vanuatu to Tahiti. The hotel was the perfect starting point to explore Noumea within the short period. The convenient and clean room and the very comfortable bed made the stay a recreative stop on our world trip.

Fabulous location around the corner from Aquarium and across the road from the taxi boat. They have a great show and dinner at the pool on Friday nights. The staff were very helpful with information, and the kitchen opened cans for us and rewarmed food that we had bought elsewhere (which was very kind seeing that we did not buy any meals whilst staying at the hotel). ...

Very good place to stay with family. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our two bedroom apartment had a nice size balcony with great view to the ocean, pool and the city. If you travel on a budget, cooking your own meals will help because the food is expensive AUD $40 for breakfast and AUD$70 for a meal. There is a supermarket walking distance, a pharmacy, the clo...

This hotel has a great potential- a great location, nice decor and affordable rates if you want a studio to cook your own meals. The only problem we had was that the reception was always closed and even when it was supposed to be open, there was a sign on the door to call a number for assistance. We left a message, but no reply. There were signs in the room that if we ...
