Wonderful wonderful guesthouse! Shinya, Barbie and Kiyo are the bomb! Etsy is spot on in reinforcing guesthouse policies and good at what she does. Special shoutout to Kiyo for immediately taking action when I told him I was freezing in the room haha! All of them plus one lady who’s not on the wall are super good conversationalists in english, chill and warm. Free breakfast is cool, lots of proactive helpful information throughout the walls and desks and shelves that guests need. Beds are comfy! The establishment felt pro, clean, safe and well-thought. Amount of toilets and showers are just right and the laundry units are good, too. totally returning with other family when we return next year and recommending to friends. Suggestions: give the option to check in early with reasonable fee for tired travelers, and have one or two other varieties for breakfast. Thank you Osaka Guesthouse, excellent job! Loved it there!

The location is very good. The hotel is located at 3rd floor while the subway station is just at the same spot, take a lift to underground and it will do. Got few restaurants nearby. The hotel is very new & clean. The staff, Ryota is very helpful. 1 bad thing is just whole floor consists of beds & rooms w/o partition wall, so if there is someone who is noisy the whole floor could heard it, but depend on who you met though. Will come visit here if vacation at Osaka again.

Super friendly staff; willing to show people around in Osaka when they have time and energy (usually they do), and always willing to help you find the best of Osaka regardless. Location is 10 to 15 minute walk from the station and it's easy to get to everywhere fun from here. There's a bunch of restaurants around the place. Everything is super clean. For me the amazing, friendly staff made all the difference. Bug hugs to everyone at Hive :) I'll definitely stay here if I'm in Osaka again.

Sachi is located in Shinsekai area, very close to the subway station; also only 3 minute walk to the best okonomiyaki place in town "Chitose" and that redlight district lol; 5 minute walk to Tsutenkaku or the Tennoji Zoo. The hostel itself is cozy, the staff are also very nice, always been helpful and they do organize a lot of activities such as going to onsen together, "okonomiyaki night" or karaoke. I really enjoyed my time here and made some friends throughout the stay. You can use the kitchen to cook your own food, a nice thing is their dorm is only 2 beds/room so a lot more comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone wanting some good vibes of Osaka and on a budget!!

Good location, only 5 mins from Nankai(train for Kansai airport) Osaka metro, JR. The building is old but you can tell they do the best to keep it clean with this low price. Reception open hour is limited, but didn't cause inconvince to me, and the staffs were so nice and welling to help. The bath is shared(separate man and female by time), means you may be naked with other people around. No need to feel shy since you're enjoying the very Japanese traditional style living. The wall is thin so you can hear other people if they speak loudly. So of you stay here please also consider about others, keep quite when it is late, and I believe you will have a good experience of staying! :)

This is my first time staying at a hostel. Surprisingly it was pleasant. Was looking for a cheap place within Tennoji area (need to catch early train to KIX airport). Spend less than 8 hours here, so really was just looking for a place to stay the night after a full day out in Osaka. We checked in at 10pm and out at 5am. Pros - although the facilities are shared - the place has everything - kitchen to cook, 2 showers (great water pressure). Cons - Location felt a bit remote. did not see any nearby convenient store. There's a supermarket - 10 minutes walk. The showers are on the ground floor, so if you have go down a steep staircase. Also bringing up luggage is also a challenge. (We had help from the staff to carry it up. Appreciate it!) . Walked for 20 minutes to the train station (Haginochaya). Tips: Take train from Tengachaya Station instead - additional 10 minutes walk. A lot more train stops there)

I booked a room with 6 beds (3 bunk beds) for 6 people, and I would say that I really enjoyed to stay here. The room is quite big (for Osaka or Japan), and quite cheap. It's famous for backpackers or young people. The room is clean, and there is a bathroom inside the room only for SHOWER. If you want to use toilet then there is a shared toilet in each floor, which is CLEAN! But, they separate the toilet for women and men, so for example in my floor, the toilet is for men only, so for women, they have to go upstair or downstair (using lift or just on foot). I would say the location is the strongest selling point of this hotel. It's located in the heart of Namba area, it's near Namba station (I would say the exit nomor 30 is the best, because there is an elevator there, and it is inside the OCAT building. The intercity bus also in the OCAT building, so for those who want to use the intercity bus, you just need to walk less than 300 meter from the hotel!). There are many restaurants near the hotel, like Sukiya (cheap food), and also near Dotonbori. It's a good hotel in the prime location!.

The Hotel / Hostel mix was a very pleasant hotel to stay in, with good vibes. Room was decently big for Japan standards and there was even a mini TV inside (though I didnt really use it). Shared facilities like toilets and shower rooms were clean. For ladies, you can use both the unisex and female only showers. Do note it's only on the first floor though. Staff was friendly with passable English and was able to give me recommendations on where to go and places of interest, some being really helpful because they were Festivals which dont really appear on travel sites and more of a local thing. Location is walking distance to both the Metro and JR lines, so you could get to anywhere in Osaka (or other parts of Japan if you really needed to) quite easily. 2 Family Marts nearby, if you wanted some late night snacks or get some essentials. Minor Gripe : I think the room was ready before the 3pm check-in but they just wouldn't let me have the room until then.

although other people rated this hotel as bad and worst, it's actually great!The value of the rooms were really worth it! It's really cheap but you get a lot of free services; they have free wifi, water, use of microwave but what I like the most was the free use of the bicycles. I went around Osaka using it, making it easier for me and cheaper since trains are a bit expensive. The staff were really friendly and they can communicate with you; if you have problems, you can always search it on the net how to say it since there's wifi. -it's rather clean. Based from the reviews of other people, I was expecting cockroaches and very old and dirty place but it was nice. The rooms were clean (except that their futons are a bit deformed, just bring your own pillow case). They have slippers that you should wear around the hotel. For people who will only sleep and rest at the hotel, it's really worth it. If you want luxurious hotels, this is not for you. -It's easy to find because it's infront of the station ; although I got lost at first not knowing the way, the Japanese residents were kind to help me and my friend (mind you that it was midnight). They even helped us carry our luggage and went out of their way to help us. It's close to certain tourist places such as nipponbashi, dotonbori,and many other places.You can bike it. It's technically safe! It may be considered as slums, but it's too good to be a slum... - THEY ARE NICE AND GENEROUS! everynight, they will give snacks to those who are using the wifi at the lobby for free. I dont know how to explain but they are definitely kind! Actually, the hotel is old but the construction is nice. It's big but not spacey. There's few spaces to move in but you can manage -The bathroom is shared but for the ladies who are worried, worry not! you can take a bath by yourself because you can lock the door! When you need something, you can always ask the staff and they'll try to do their best to provide it for you. I recommend it!

I stayed in osaka for a few days and i’m glad i stayed at backstage. The owner and staff are super friendly and there is a relaxed, sociable vibe. Great location and facilities!

It was my first solo trip and first visit to Japan and I've already missed it! Staffs are very lovely and helpful! The first day I emailed due to unexpected flight delay, they let me delay check in time one hour later. There was a morning that I had bad mood (from last night's lost way and stomach problem). Tried to ask a staff about ramen casually with my poor Japanese, but I might turned out to be rude, she answered patiently and I forgot to say the greetings as when Japanese people going out, even a bye. Yet they still did. I felt bad and heart-warmed at the same time (Thank you, Ichiran ramen was awesome!), couldn't stay long but I imagine you'd have a wonderful day in Osaka just hanging out with them alone. Also they'd silently change your towels like ninja and clean the shower few times a day, so you can't really blame them if still seeing something you don't like. In terms of facilities, it's an open space for many beds in entirely floor (I usually come back very late, so if you see bad reviews about noise around sep. 14-18, that'd prob. be me :/), there are curtains as doors which you can hear people whispering or outside door sounds. I suggest guesthouse could sell ear plugs or bring your own. I stayed at 2nd floor and there was a long desk with chairs, water heater next to the beds, but you'll have to fill the water at 1st floor which opened until 10 pm. Tho there are many vending machines outside 24hr. or shower water which I drank (shower room is awesome!). There's also a washing/drying machine. 3rd floor has a balcony for smoking area (I didn't go up there so don't really know about it or 1st floor room). The interior is beautiful overall. Wish the staffs and guesthouse all the best and I'd definitely love to stay there again!

I visited Peace house Showa for solo travel. They are using normal Japanese house to the guesthouse. You can feel and enjoy the atmosphere like home. The location is easy to access many visiting spots. And also from the airport, you don't need to transfer. The station is not really close, it took 4 mins to Metro station so far good, but to the JR station, you need around 10 mins. Actually the house is quite old (at least 30 yrs passed I guess), but still maintaing cleaness with fresh linens. Finally, Staffs were very friendly so even if you travel alone, you won't be lonely. I'm going to choose this guesthouse when I visit Osaka again, unless I travel with my parents.

This hostel is great! The location is convenient, since it is right next to Tennoji JR station. There are quite a few people staying long term in the hostel, which gives it a real sense of community. And best of all; the price is very affordable! If I ever go back to Osaka, this is where I will stay.

This hostel is very well qualified as an hotel with many above average amenities compare to most hostels in Osaka as well as in Japan. Its location is the best with very very easy access to train/bus stations that will get you to anywhere locally & all over Japan

Pros: Place is very near a lot of stations so you won’t have any problem commuting. Also, there are already a lot of restaurants to choose from 2-5mins away from the building. All basic utilities are in the hostel. They don’t have a curfew so you may go in and out anytime. Bed space is big enough for you and your things too. Wifi is fast. Host/s can 100% communicate in english so foreign travelers won’t have a problem. Very near tourist spots too!! You can just walk around the area. Cons: No bidet. Only one shower for the girls and the rest are mixed. Guests may be too insensitive/noisy (not actually a problem of the host) so it’s hard to sleep sometimes. You sleep in a futon which is actually common in Japan but just stating it here in case you expect something else. Aside from some noisy guests, my stay was very comfortable even though I was only there at night. Would probably go back if I return to Osaka just because it gives the best value for my money. Very near the dotonbori area. If you arrive in Osaka from Kansai Int’l airport, it is around 12 mins. walk from Osaka station. But can access the city using the subway with 2 minutes walk to the nearest station exit. Location is very near to different restaurants and shopping center. Our private room in the 3rd floor is good enough for 2 persons. The lift is inoperational but the reception staff offered to help us with our luggage. Also, the 3rd floor shower isn’t working. So we either use the 2nd or 4th floor shower. One of my favorite part is their common area. Fully equipped lounge and kitchen. There was also a free instant ramen. They offer free use of umbrella as it was raining during that day. Overall, I would definitely recommend Hostel Q as it is near the shopping areas.

O4 Village Namba, best value for our money. Near the Ebisuchō Station, super clean facilities, very friendly staff and also very near to the Shinsekai (known Osaka tourist destination). We suggest you rent the hotel’s bike and roam around Osaka on this. Will recommend this hostel to friends who wish to visit Osaka too. Thank you 04 Village namba, we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a really great stay in this hotel in Osaka. We got to stay in the new part and it was very enjoyable. The shower facilities on the floor are great and also very clean, even the toilets are very clean any time of the day. The room is small, but enough space for your bags/suitcases. They provide a kimono to go to the bathroom and slippers. Their service is great and also the common space to use the microwave and kitchen is very handy. Would highly recommend this hotel for any travelers to Osaka.

Kitakagaya Station is great for access to Namba. Situated in a less hectic part of Osaka close by to parks and Great Onsens. A highlight would Super Onsen (Yutara Onsen@720-770yen) that is open until 2am, last entry 1am. if you want to be away from the crowds and soak in the neighbourhoods, you have your wish granted at Air Osaka Hostel. Best to take up the twin/triple tatami rooms you are in a group.

Had a great time staying there. (4 Nights) The Place is clean and everything works. The bed was very comfortable and even though I was sleeping in huge dorm room I had no problem falling asleep or felt that there is nor enough space. The owner is pretty cool guy and gives the hole place a more friendly and welcoming experience. We talked about different things in the area, he taught me some Japanese and even bought me new Breakfast after my first one burned! Only negative things are that it’s not the most social place to meet other travelers, everything is very private even though you are staying in big dorm. All in all a good place to visit when staying in Osaka!

Nice and welcoming staff. Laid-back and relaxed feeling. Just 10-min walk (1 subway station) from Namba/Dotonbori, not very far, and it's also convenient to go to other parts of Osaka. Got a good kitchen, but need to take the food downstairs to eat, a bit dangerous when holding hot stuff? The lower deck of the bunker bed also has little headroom for talk guys. Still it's a good guesthouse if you're not super-picky, recommended.

It was a nice choice for my schedule. I stayed in Osaka for a night after landing, this place is close to a station where I can take a Kintesu train to Nara - just within 5 min walking. Varied kinds of restaurants are around the area, you can still find food at late night (less choices after 11pm). The accommodation overall is worth it, clean and well equipped, room was not crowded, bedding was not bad. But do try to take care of your own belongings, I found some of my money missing after leaving there...

The place is really clean i saw cleaners cleaning all the common area and they change bedsheets and clean room as per request. The location is very strategic as its near JR shinimamiya and subway shinimamiya and Dobutsuen mae subway station. Nearby 24 hrs grocery store ,family mart, daiso, don quijote and Tsutenkaku tower and osaka zoo. Staff is very friendly. i have stayed in many guesthouse in this area and i would say this is the best. For those saying the place is dangerous that is not true!!!! There might be some homeless people here but they are very old people which are not even capable of doing any harm to you. This is japan hahaha (not a 3rd world country) so it is safe everywhere i even walk late night here and its very safe in general in all parts of japan. Newly renovated lobby and small restaurant and takoyaki and ice cream shop has recently opened within the building. This place is best for budget and solo traveler. P.S. be aware there are some inconsiderate guests that will bang there room door even during sleeping hours (Koreans and Chinese are the most inconsiderate guests.

+ve Points Cleanliness: The building is pretty new, so you can expect clean facilities from the bedrooms to the showers to the lounge area. The staff vacuum and clean the area daily. Location: I did not know how great the location was until i checked in. It is a 10 mins walk to Amerikamura and Dotonbori for shopping! Also this location is superb if you have a JR pass as there is JR Namba station 5 minutes walk away. The local metro Sakuragawa is less than a 1 minute away on foot. Very convenient with eateries and family marts/lawson/7-11 splattered all around the guesthouse. Facilities: As mentioned earlier, facilities are still new. Lounge looks beautiful and cozy. Showers are shared. Bedrooms are big enough even though i booked a 12 bed dorm, it still felt as though i had enough personal space. Wifi in room and lounge area. Washer available for 100 yen. Theres a lift so you dont need to drag your luggage up and down the stairs. There are small lockers but please bring your own lock. Staff: The staff were amazing. Really super friendly and miss them so much when i left. Pang + Koh + Chise were very fun and warm and friendly. They would usually join the guests during dinner time and talk to us. Pang even cooked taki for us one night. Bianca is also very friendly and helped me with some recommendations for where to go. Thank you for the awesome stay! MISS YOU GUYS! FINAL THOUGHTS: This is definitely not the cheapest guesthouse especially considering its 12 beds shared dormitories. But i would say definitely the best guesthouse in terms of location cleanliness and staff. I had a wonderful experience and would not mind forking that bit extra for an enjoyable stay.

Cheap bed, bathrooms are really clean, staff are warm and friendly, incredible shower pressure!! Close to 7eleven, family mart, Lawson, walking distance to dotonbori (about 15-20 minutes). Cons: the construction sound outside is unbearable early in the morning, there are no curtains to block light out, fixed lamp in bed would be nice instead of clumsy one that’s there now. The restaurant smells like cigarettes due to being allowed to smoke inside in japan. But for price paid, definitely worth saving money by staying here. Also don’t spend more than 2 nights in Osaka, there’s nothing to do.

Ooooh yeeaa. This hostel is one of the best in comparison to many other good hostel around the world including in Osaka, Japan. Its has very large community room equipped with free TV, hot water & teas. Its location is the most convenient to bus/train stations. Restaurants, supermarket & local shopping are out of this world. For a very very unique restaurant that serves real gold metal you can eat with your salad & grill your own blowfish & in a very 100% Japanese style environment & services. I do not speak/read/write any Japanese but the young Japanese server invest his time to assist me throughout the meal. I enjoyed - a lot - The restaurant locates around 5 minutes walk from the Hotel Sakura on the right hand side when you walk out of the hotel & on the other side of the main street in front of the Hotel Sakura side - almost across from Sheraton Miyako Hotel. The cost is around 75USD/person.

I never go to Japan and this is my first time I go to other country. My experience with Viaggio Hostel is awesome. The staffs are kind, they can speak English. The hostel is located near to 2 important stations, Ebisucho Station and Namba Station. Also, it is near to Dotombori (8 mins) and Den Den Town (1 or 2 mins). The room is very clean, I choose 1 romm with 3 beds. The bathroom is clean as well. My room is located at 6th floor. There are a small refrigerator and sink. I will surely go to this place again when I come back someday.

This is not my typical concept of a 'Hotel' that I know of.. Since as you all might know the bathrooms are located on the groundfloor of the hotel.. There's a common toilet in each floor, you'll just need to get out of the room when natural calls.. There's a public bath too, you have to try it to experience this part of Japan.. It's quite an experience. It's situated exactly outside Dobutsumae station exit 2 of Midosuji (Pink) Line. Staff speaks English and are well-prepared with all the tourist attraction you can go to, it's all printed out for you, even with a map of the hotel surroundings.. There's 2 family mart/convenient store near the hotel, and something like a foodstreet across the road through the tunnel.. It sells about almost the same thing (yakitori/skewers), which is kinda common for Japan I think.. You can get to the hotel from Osaka Intertional Aiport/Itami (idk why but it only serves domestic flight) via Shuttle bus to Namba station (right outside the airport).. Go across the street, you can take the midosuji line to Dobutsumae. Down point for the hotel is that if you're claustrophobic, it's not advisable for you to be staying here, as the room is very cramp.. It can only fit a bed, a small table just right to put a TV on it and some space for your luggage. There's a mini refrigerator at the side too.
