Best hotels & accommodations in Port Fairy

Our stay (for us older, long-term married couple / no children to care for anymore) was really assisted by the Port Fairy/Seacombe House stay. We were able to walk just metres from it to the main area of commerce and activities in Port Fairy. The beaches were only a few blocks away too, and, to let us have a good overall analysis of the town. The Reception Staff were m...

stayed for two nights in port fairy at the wytonia studio. graham, the owner was a wealth of knowledge and very helpful. the studio was extremely well appointed with spacious bedroom / lounge. superb views of the southern ocean to the south west. it's possible to walk to port fairy (about 40 min), however we drove each day. the studio is one of three situated in graham...

I was doing the great southern turning route road trip with my sister and we came to the cottage to stay during the night in port fairy. Mr Douglas was so kind to give us a tour about our cottage and the port fairy city. The fireplace was nice and it was a very cozy room with the massage bath and even rubber ducks! We can see alpaca outside our room too! Overall it's t...

When my frds and me arrived quite late to check in, the host was still waiting for us and keeping in smile and introduced us the surrounding attractions in Port Fairy and suggestions of the Great Ocean Road. Good and quiet location. best place for family vacation. minutes drive to shops and next to track for walks or jog. minutes walk to the beach. rooms nicely decored with full kitchen. great value for the money. Jesse (owner) was such a lovely host! no internet service provided but it wasn't an issue for me at all!

great stay ! Hope we could have stayed longer : - location : near port fairy, but in the very quiet and secluded area of tower hill. Just nearby the fabulous reserve of tower hill, where we saw many kangaroos in the evening, and a somptuous sunset on the hill - cabin : ancien pre-fabricated class rooms that were renovated with good taste. Huge space, super comfy king s...

We were intrigued with the hotel reserving and maintaining the original train cable cars outlook and interior!! it is definitely a unique experience as our rooms are actually in the train cable itself. we took lots of photographs. The gardens around the hotel is beautiful and the owner has domestic animals for guests to interact with. However, bad points are: it is 20 ...

The owner took the trouble to use guests names and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and had all facilities however kitchen had no oven but everything else was supplied. There was no telephone in the apartment but had WIFI. Overall I would rate as four star.

I personally like this cottage a lot. It is a well maintained cottage with proper heating equipment provided. We visited in early to mid September when the weather is still quite cold, and is really cold especially at night. We occupied one of the big cottage, it is equip with a classic wood heater in the living room and every room in the cottage is a smaller electrica...

A really well signposted site, which even I found without a problem. The welcome was great, giving us good information on where to visit and eat in Port Fairy. The cabin was well appointed and the equipment looked relatively new (Feb 2015). A real find and at a good price. Thank you for making us 'poms' welcome. I have given the food/dining a 1 only because we didn...

I can see why some travellers may find the owners a little polarising, but I found them very polite, courteous and helpful. The rooms are exquisitely designed the breakfast was nice and the mini bar price is very reasonable. It’s very well located for Port Fairy’s attractions although I did find the town didn’t meet expectation.

We had a wonderful overnight stay ... We loved the fire going with a priceless view of the ocean on a winters day ... The apartment had everything we needed with a very comfy bed and the Italian restaurant Carol recommended to us had the most amazing gnocchi ... A great end to our holiday

We had a lovely long weekend at Central Park. Port Fairy is a lovely little seaside town and Central Park is walking distance from the beach and the town, where there are lots of nice restaurants and cafes. Central Park is very modern, clean and well equipped, but it didn't have a hair dryer. The brand new kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, the bedrooms were spaciou...

Accommodation is provided in two buildings external to the Inn. The structure may be old, but the accommodation is the very tired 1970s style. Our "deluxe double" room consisted of a double bed, a TV, a bar fridge with one glass & a small milk carton, and a small 1970s style ensuite. Patrons exited the Inn on the first night via the rear door next to the accommodation ...

Traveler impressions of Port Fairy
Seafood is really fresh. Ate at The Wharf Commons, would rate it 5/5. Nature lovers will love exploring Griffith Island.
Beautiful Historic fishing port and wildlife reserve So nice to see so many original buildings restored and still standing.
A walk round Griffith Island was rather interesting with sightings of wallabies and some birds; at the right time of the year, watching the shearwaters return at dusk is a great experience.
Port Fairy is very much a Heritage town..We have been there on a previous occasion a) for a day visit then b) to view the return of the Mutton Birds.
it is recently rated as the most livable cities among the world in 2013, it definitely lives up to its name.
A great town on Victoria's "Shipwreck Coast" This is part of one of Australia's premier sightseeing areas along the "Great Ocean Road" The beaches and coastline are beautiful and rugged.
