We went from Australia Zoo to Maroochydore to stay for one night-found the cinemas, it was in the centre of a very lively restaurant and water area-our favourite chocolate place San Churro was there, the Aztec chili chocolate drink is thick and wonderful-cinema has lots of theatres-best place in Maroochydore
The Sunshine Coast is well worth the time for a relaxing getaway. With the variety of activities - beaches, shopping areas, nature reserves/zoos, museums and scenic drives, there is always something to do, even if it is sitting in a cafe area watching the people go past.
With the weather, the beaches are well worth visiting. These are well protected by lifeguards (follow the advice and swim between the flags!). There is also good surfing and other water activities are available. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Sunshine Coast is great for families, international travellers, honeymooners and anyone looking for a great relaxing holiday with lovely beaches, shopping, restaurants and close proximity to many attractions such as Underwater World,Ginger Factory, Big Pineapple.
Friendly atmosphere and safe to walk around.
The Sunshine Coast is a great family destination with a laid back feel and your choice of doing nothing much at all or being very busy with all the markets, shopping and natural attractions.
The Sunshine Coast offers a long list of things to see and do. The great beaches, places to eat, attractions and short drive to mountains and countryside mean the choices are many.
A beautiful place to take the family or partner and enjoy a quiet getaway with as much action as you choose.
I love the Sunshine Coast we visit as often as we can. So many places to stay, see and enjoy. Offers a huge variety of activities whether you are very active or want to just relax.
I enjoy the hinterland as well which adds another aspect of fun and/or relaxation and great variety of accommodation without having to travel far. We can visit and stay and enjoy something different every time.
Great people, great cafe's, Restaurants, The Sun, Awesome Beaches, Quick bus ride to Hastings Street where you can hire a scooter great place to unwind for a long weekend AAA++
There is plenty for all in this pretty place. Shopping, beaches and plenty of restaurants. If you want to just relax in your apartment you can do that with food delivered.
The choices are many and plenty of things to do in the area. Go fishing, visit a market, have a spa or dine out and lots more.
Explore both the beaches and the hinterland. The beach is great place to have fun in the sun and the hinterland has good mountain views such as the glasshouse mountain.
The Sunshine Coast is a tropical paradise. In the winter months the balmy temperatures are a wonderful break from the winter for those of us from colder climes.
The atmosphere is relaxed, people friendly, prices reasonable, and the physical beauty of the place is amazing.
Had a great time at the Colundra Music Festival. It runs for 4 days but we just went for 1. Right beside the beach so can go for a swim while there.
Markets/shops in the shopping centre there were good also (markets on Sunday)
The Sunshine Coast is about 1 hr north of Brisbane and is a lot quitter than the Gold Coast. The beaches are great and the restaurants are excellent.
The central part is Maroochydore and the Northern part is Noosa. In the south it is Caloundra. The whole area offers a lot with many fine beaches and the hills behind the Sunshine Coast offer beautiful views and many fine places to eat. The Sunshine Coast is a great spot.
Sunshine Coast has many attractive beach and water sports for tourists to explore and enjoy. The beaches are clean and the locals are very friendly.
We mainly went to the beaches which was fantastic. Shopping at the Plaza ia alwas good lots of shops and lots of different food to eat.
The sunshine coast has many restaurants, but few of them impress. I am a local, and I travel to Noosa or Montville if I want nice food.
Seafood places like Mooloolaba wharf are the best of a bad lot. Nightlife is non existent unless you like pokies, or are under 25 and like getting wasted in clubs that serve the drinks in plastic cups. The surf clubs and RSL’s often have a special all you can eat deal, and there are lots of happy hours and free drinks for the ladies. Don’t forget to get a ticket in the meat tray. Expect to be out of there by 11.30, because they all shut. Follow the thumping noise and vomit trail to the clubs and bars open until late, but expect to be turned away at the door if you are too old. too ugly or too male to be allowed in. Younger kids will like the playgrounds at the beach, but don’t let them out of your sight. There are a few seedy characters about. Older kids will be bored witless unless you get them a fake ID and give them free licence to attend the nightclubs where they can drink themselves silly and score some elicit substances from the abundance of chemical salespeople attending them. If it’s too low key, you can always go to the gold coast, which is the sunshine coast on steroids.
The people in Sunshine Coast are really friendly. The place is so beautiful and there are many markets with interesting items on sale.
Visit the Eumundi Strawberry Farm and pick your own strawberries at $10 per kg!
Very good road conditions, so many things and enjoyments to do, perfect place to go, the only disadvantage is the cost too much.
Great spot for friendly relaxed locals. Good food great beaches, Island adventures and fresh water waterfalls all close by
Bus service excellent , Australia Zoo nearby, gardens RSL Surf club Walkways all in all a ezcellent holiday destination
We loved the walk out to tea tree bay and granites. Great surfing. Friendly people. Everyone seems happy and says hi.
The seafood was amazing and fresh.
There are plenty of places to see and lots of things to do. The Sunshine Coast hinterland has lots of nice villages.
You can drive along the road and still buy fresh produce on the side. At Flaxton there is a person that sells fresh honey. Of course at Eumundi there is the markets there.
Enjoyed our stay at Sunshine coast. The scenery and beaches are lovely, and tour operators very pleasant and helpful.
Lovely place for a weekend getaway! Great for families, couples or small groups. Plenty to do and friendly residents!
Nice warm climate. Good variety of scenery. Lots of activities for different types of people though mainly outdoor.
Good centre for motoring around and visiting places. Good walkways and nice beaches.
The hype of Noosa rings true. The whole sunshine coast is a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Love visiting the markets on the Sunshine Coast.....there are many to choose from, with a wide variety of goods.
Lots of local produce and arts and crafts
The Sunshine Coast is perfect, from the gorgeous beaches to the amazing hinterland- it accommodates all needs.
It is a beautiful, sunny place to relax and enjoy the surroundings or go shopping at one of the many centres.
Surfing is very popular if that is your thing. Very active place - lots of walkers, runners and bike riding due to the miles and miles of paths leading from one beach to another.
Recommend Eumundi Markets on a Saturday, and Noosaville Markets on a Sunday morning for a great bargain.
Brilliant area with so much to do and very relaxed and not as commercial as many other beach locations.
