The city is improving in buildings, entertainment and food. Nice scenic area in Taichung region and surrounding, good for day trips.
Awesome place to visit, with lots of awesome food. Stuff here are generally cheaper than taipei. Night market offers more variety and better food compared to taipei.
Taichung is modern yet does not feel like a stressful, buzzing city. The people are really nice and helpful, and you won't have any trouble finding sincere cab drivers who are not out to make extra money from you.
easy to travel from Taipei city. just take the HSR and you can reach there by an hour. People are very friendly and warm.
It is recommended to stay near to the train station. Fengchia night market is a must-visit place. One can also visit the Rainbow village and Gao Mei Shi Di.
The people here i meat all very friendly and helpful. They also like to give compliment. The restaurant staff can give very good customer service, friendly.
People are helpful when you asked them where you like to visit and they show you the way. Even they do not know, they google for me.
People are very nice when we asked the location that we would like to go, even they cannot show us the direction, they google the place to us and indicate us how to go.
it is a very lively city with a lot of interesting place for me to explore. Will come back for my 3rd visit.
A famous city of Taiwan. Lots of outdoor activities you can do in Taichung. A nice place for relax.
Nothing much in Taichung. Even the locals feel that there's nothing much to do there. Traveling around Taichung is inconvenient as there's no metro available.
A very "user friendly" city that is increasingly catering for the tourist trade with multi-lingual menus etc
Simple city similar to Taipei but less advanced. But is because of this, the city do have quite a few rural areas worth visiting.
Sun biscuits. Must visit Kwan Ti temple with huge Kwan Ti statute as well as Mazu temple about 5mins walk from Kwan Ti temple.
Taichung is a shopping paradise with the biggest night market in Taiwan. It is pretty easy to access the different areas via their public transportation.
Loved the lavender farm, but it is a really far drive from the city area. Enjoyed the spacious city, with old buildings and food can be found almost everywhere.
This place only have famous place Fengjia night market and Miyahara ice cream. I think many peaople go there only transit to go to Nantou City (sun moon lake, Cengjing farm etc)
Cingjing and SML is near Taichung. Hence, it will be good if you can visit these 2 areas as well for sightseeing and relaxation! Taichung night market are nice.
Taichung is a very busy area; more so than Taipei. Considering the transport methods, it's not as organized and convenient as Taipei for a non-Chinese/Taiwanese speaker.
Taichung is building their metro system, the road is bad, the taxi is bad services too, so wait until the metro built then will be good to go again.
There is only one night market that worth going in the evening. Shopping centres are just fine. Not much historical place of interest and therefore not worth to stay long in the city.
Suggested to take Public Transport instead of Car/Van rental for Solo travelers , May get the "YouYou" Card at 7-11 and topup the credit, TWD100 is enough for 3day 2 night as the Public Transport (BUS) is FOC for the first 8KM travel.
A good stop-over for travels to the outskirts of Taichung; Dakeng Carton King, Moncoeur, Gaomei Wetlands.
I will definitely go visit again soon. Modern high-rise buildings, apartments. and public museums. Wow, not bad for a 3 Days 2 Night trip
If you are travelling to Taichung, you've got to travel out to the suburb areas, do not just stay within the city.
Because the attractions are not compact, car rentals (with or without driver) may be the best mode to travel around the cities, though finding a parking lot could be tortuous as in other big cities.
I highly recommend the bicycle trails in taichung. 台中后豐鐵馬道. Do yourself a favor and choose an electric bike as the distance can be up to 10.
There many buses available but need to know the route first before you board. There a few cinema in the shopping malls but the price was not cheap.
The town planning for Taichung is better than old Taipei. The spaces are well designated and buildings are not cramped up or congested.
went there mainly for the feng chia night market. the night market is one of the best that I went in Taiwan.
