Kiwi House Waiheke
"Our host, Tracy always greeted us with a big smile. Enthusiasm radiated from her. I sent her an email to let her know about our early arrival time and she replied back immediately with directions on how to get to the property from the ferry. The room was ready early and we were able to check in as soon as we arrived, around 10am, which was a pleasant surprise. She gave us tons of advice on Waiheke island, like which wineries to check out. One of the days we were there was a Tuesday, and many wineries are closed midweek. She took the time to call around to different wineries to see who was open that day.
The Kiwi House itself is fantastic. Just recently remodeled/renovated. I am a sucker for new construction/renovation. Everything looked brand new: new floors, tile, furniture, decorations, newly painted walls. Loved it! This is one is the cleanest places we've ever stayed at. Not a speck of dust anywhere. It was so clean, I felt bad wearing my shoes in the house. We loved the design and decor of the whole place. The common area had big open sliding doors letting in lots of sunshine and gave a bright open feel to it. The kitchen areas had coffee & tea available throughout the day. There was always fresh milk in the fridges. Each floor had its own fridge in which you could store food/drinks.
The breakfast included freshly baked muffins that you can smell wafting through the house in the morning. There was also juice, fruit, yogurt, toast, cheese, tomato and assorted cereals/muesli in the cutest mason jars. Coffee selection included both a French press/plunger coffee or instant.
Our bedroom on the 2nd floor had a nice view. The big windows let in lots of light. The bed had a new mattress, huge fluffy pillows, super white linens. It was very very comfortable.
We also appreciated the eco-awareness of the Kiwi House. Common area lights functioned on motion sensor, so no wasted energy when no one was around. There were water saving tip"Show more
