"Room is big and there’s a balcony where my child gets to play snow. Unfortunately there’s not much of a view. Hotel provides complementary snacks in the afternoon which was delicious. Staff was also helpful with laundry issue and places to go. Will stay here again "

Hotel Bahnhof
Zermatt,Zermatt - View on map
"With location just in front of Zermatt Train Station, it is a very recommended hotel to stay in Zermatt. It has big kitchen as well. The bathroom is shared, but it's not really an issue, during our stay, rarely did we find anyone occupying the bathroom when we needed to use it. And by the way, each room has its own wash basin. Just perfect! "

"I stayed here during September where it's in low season in Zermatt view room so this is a late review . I enjoyed my stay here, the reception is always so friendly and willing to help, felt the great hospitality throughout. Instead of a hotel, i say this place feels like home with its cozy and homely feeling. the breakfast selection was good , having stayed in switzerland for 2 weeks in different hotels, felt that the cheese selections here have a wide selection. The room was spacious where i can open up my two huge suitcase inside with lots of space. Room and toilet are clean and organised when i stepped in. Would love to stay here again when back in zermatt! Thank you for the great job! "

"Basic but all good! Had a nice balcony facing the plaza. Slightly small - not for the claustrophobic. But all in all. A good stay and sleep. They had comfy beds "

"호텔이 너무 이쁘고 아기자기하게 잘 꾸며놨습니다. 마테호른이 바로 보이는 숙소 뷰 덕에 너무너무 행복한 시간 보냈구요. 다음 일정에 먹을 고기를 보관해야 하는데, 바로 냉장고 보관도 해주시고, 와인오프너가 없어서 오픈부탁을 했는데 좋은 잔에 마셔야 한다며 와인잔도 내어주시고 너무 즐겁고 행복하게 놀다왔습니다. This hotel is really beautiful and decorated so lovely. You can stay here with Matterhorn view. it was so nice. I should have kept my meat for next city so I asked them to do it, and they accepted it so kindly, also when I asked them to open my wine, they said to me that I should drink wine with nice glasses, and then they borrowed me them. I was so nice Zermatt trip thanks to this hotel and nice staff "

"This hotel is amazing cos of the meticulous care from the staff. We were there for our honeymoon and we got a free upgrade! The hotel has a beautiful view of the Matterhorn from the balcony where we sat for drinks and admired the scenery in Zermatt. The breakfast spread was good and the staff is always willing to give suggestions on where to visit. She even showed us how to use the live cams available through the official website to check on the weather conditions in the mountains. Would definitely come here to stay again if we have the chance!"

Hotel Simi

"Newly Refurbished Fresh Room Upgrade - A double room was offered instead of the Single room booked. It made a short holiday break showing visitors from my Asian homeland a definite welcome change from the grey wet rainy weather encountered at Zermatt. Apart from a single cleanliness oversight during the renovations in the bathroom, all was beyond expectations and worth every franc in expensive Zermatt. The location is excellent, away from the busy noisy main street, yet close to the Gornergrat bahn and the main station to Täsch."

Traveler impressions of Zermatt

More about Zermatt

Although it may seem daunting to visit a mountainous, car-free village in upper Switzerland, Zermatt is friendly to even first-time tourists, and a great place to experience some incredible views of snow-covered mountains and rivers and lakes mingling with the city’s impressive accommodations and restaurants. Getting into Zermatt is best done via rail, and from the Zermatt Railway Station, it’s easy to either catch a cable car electric bus to the hotels. Or, start the adventure right away and hike down to the village.

There are several mountains in Zermatt, so hikers and mountaineers will not be short of a peak to climb. The most experienced will certainly head to the Matterhorn, Zermatt’s most famous attraction. The even more experienced mountaineers will also tackle the peaks of Monte Rosa, which is said to be the highest point in Switzerland. This climb will take days of planning and physical preparation, and Zermatt is the perfect place to plan such a trip.

Biking, hiking, walking, and exploring the ins and outs of an old village are what await most travelers to Zermatt. It’s most definitely a refreshing place to visit, especially given all of the cars that seem to crowd many parts of the world. Also, because the city is a popular vacation destination especially among outdoor sports enthusiasts, there are plenty of hotels and guesthouses from which to choose.

There’s a lot more to see and do in Zermatt, and the best way to discover what else this city has to offer in terms of attractions, landmarks, and hotels is by exploring the interactive map on this page.
