Great Place for Vacation”
Super friendly staff. Helpful in every way.
Great location, friendly staff, expensive food!”
We were there for our honeymoon and enjoyed the stay and the hospitality of the staff. The location is great if you prefer accommodation far from hustle and bustle. All rooms are sea facing and the view is beautiful. We stayed in standard room and had an unobstructed view of the ocean. Staff is friendly and professional. From Praslin jetty to the hotel, we took a taxi for 250 Seychelles Rupees. From the airport, it is about 400. One has to rent a car to get around the hotel and explore the island since the terrain is very curvy and steep at most places. Bikes are a bad idea unless you are super-athletic. Food is on the expensive side and the options for vegetarians are very little. The room was lovely and had a bathtub right inside. The hotel has complimentary shuttle bus to the #1 beach in Africa - Anse Lazio and also free guided nature trail walk. Overall, our stay was great and we enjoyed the calmness and views around the hotel. There are two small private beaches that guests can use to hang around and catch a glimpse of sunset.
non-attentive reception staff & poor maintenance”
the hotel facilities are in poor maintenance, including hair-dryer in our suite room looked quite old. the cord of hair dryer was tear out while i was drying my hair. so i was risk of getting eletric shock, when the leak of electric was sparked from that part of the hair-dryder, then it started burning. To ask for solving the problem, we called to the reception and they said we needed to wait for 1/2 hour. but after 1/2 hour, no one came around, neither for asking if i was ok or getting hurt somewhere. so we had to walked to the reception woth that broken hair-dryer by ourselves to report the problem to the Duty Manager. Well, she seemed not care about my safety neither. at this time, I acknowledge how careless to customer they are and that’s why their facilities are in low-maintenance, due to their carelessness. At every evening, our bed sheet was dirted from some insect’s excrement.
Great Hospitality ”
We really enjoyed our stay at Coco de Mer. Nice place, Good location, Good foid, Friendly staff, nice rooms.. I would specially like to mention about Tasiana, Ginette, Ravi, Ajay and Debdeep frim the hotel staff who made us feel very comfortable and happy. Will surely recommend to all our friends.
Adequate for short stays.”
Comments are limited to Coco de Mer not Black Parrot - which is ostensibly more upmarket but was not experienced. The Coco de Mer is geared to package holidays (Mostly French and German) more than independent travellers. It lacks any special local character beyond its location next to relatively pristine forest. Conveniently located relatively near the jetty for the Mahe/Victoria etc ferries. Best suited to short stays. The a la carte alternative to the buffet was poor and dramatically over priced - as are most restaurants in Seychelles.
Seems they are not welcome Asian ”
The facilities are very good, very clean n beautiful place. The beach is not really for sunbathe, but there's many fish and there's a small ray. The staff seems not very welcome Asian or Chinese. Some staff in the restaurant never smile to us and when we asked for help, seems they didn't want to. I'm not sure if there were bad experience, but we had bad experience. We felt that we are unwelcome in the hotel. That's is unfair n no reason. But some of them are very helpful, such as the Guy who works in sport centre, and some bellboys.
Coco de Mer simple and beautiful!!”
Enjoyed all aspects of our stay. They accommodated us and our 6 month old baby really well. Various activities canoe and paddle board hire included with the stay. Delicious food. Private beaches nearby.
Seychelles are Magical”
While a little off the beaten path for the rest of Praslin, Coco de Mer is easily accessible considering the size of the island. Definitely rent a car - it's the best way to get around and much cheaper and more convenient than cabs or the bus/shuttle. The views are great and the beaches are good too (obviously not the best on the island). The staff is incredible there - they're all so nice and very attentive to your needs and booking restaurants, suggestions and giving advice about the island what activities you're going to do. I only wish it didn't rain so much - because the islands and water are just incredible. Overall Coco de Mer / Black Parrot was incredible - we had such an amazing room at the Black Parrot and it gave us the right privacy and service we were looking for.
As it was off season the pool restaurant was closed on a couple of evenings, leaving only a very expensive buffet or room service with additional charge - there are are no other restaurants nearby. There were 2 steps down to the seating area approx 0.75m below - as these were next to the bed it was potentially very dangerous
Epic, romantic, and incredible staff”
As a 26 and 32 year old couple we are normally more budget, but wanted to treat ourselves. Great 1st impressions - on arrival we were greeted with mocktails, and our bags taken up to our room. The rooms are fantastic, large and spacious with a bathtub in the bedroom, and a balcony where you can have a morning coffee and be visited by the local birds. The lower level pool gets used by families, but next to the Waterfront spa there is a beautiful tranquil pool - sunset here is fantastic and you can watch fruit bats swooping. There was a balance of families and couples - a great place to go for a romantic break, to relax and also go on adventures. Owen at the front desk might just be the happiest man alive, and super helpful when we wanted to rent bikes and book a day trip to la Digue, answering every question we had. We cycled up the coast to the Black Pearl gallery and giant oyster farm - well worth a visit. The cycle took an hour along a beautiful route. The local Tata buses leave from outside the hotel, but are for the brave - very fast around the hilly roads (you get used to it eventually). The hotel arranges a free bus to Anse Lazio (leaves 9.30am, pick up 1pm), called the most beautiful beach in the Seychelles - it is great with clear waters, good for swimming and wave jumping. The food is delicious, and buffet breakfast includes a huge range of cooked and cold international foods. Highly recommend the buffet dinner on 'Creole' and 'International Taste' night (around £40 for all courses, well worth it). The a la carte restaurant does fantastic octopus curry (the secluded location and no buses after dark means eating at the hotel is the best option – there is a big variety of quality local and international food at reasonable prices). All staff were fantastic - friendly, enthusiastic, always happy to help. The staff and the beautiful surroundings helped make this the best holiday we have ever had, and we are very tempted to return in future.
Absolutely worth the money, incredible stay”
We stayed at Coco de Mer for our honeymoon. Rooms/Facilities: everything was clean, and all activities were feasible within the resort. Of course, having so many things to do in the Island, we spent most of the time outside. The resort is located in a quiet place (I recommend renting a car). Staff: Best stay in a resort we've ever had. as soon as we arrived to the resort and left for the airport, all the staff were incredibly friendly and helped and assisted us in any way. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and we would definately go back to this resort. I definatelly recommend anyone looking for an excellent resort in Praslin Island. For us, breakfast/dinner was included in the rate. The food was very good. No doubts on that Coco de Mer was worth the money for a very reasonable price.
we stayed there for 4 nights. during that we were very satisfied with the comfortable room. the room including the dinner was good choice. the rotation of the hotel which I can walk had neither the restaurant nor the shops. however the staff were not frendly. if they have a lot of smiles, we could recommend this hotel to more people.
A taste of paradise”
We spend the last 5 nights of our honeymoon at Coco de Mer! It was truly fantastic, the location is great, rooms facing the ocean, great pool, very nice staff (you have to do the mountain trail, you'll be out of breath not only by the climbing). A truly relaxing time, especially if you take the opportunity to visit the spa. Also the food is so good, very difficult to resist the temptation of the buffet (breakfast and diner) Hope to go back there anytime !
Great location and very friendly staff”
We stayed at Coco de Mer Black Parrot Suites for 3 nights on our honeymoon this December. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave us a complimentary upgrade for our honeymoon! This was our last stop on our honeymoon and maybe the best. The pool overlooks the Indian Ocean and we relaxed there for hours and caught daily sunsets. Rooms were very clean and well furnished. They do get a little bit warm as the hotel is very ecofriendly. Overall a great place to stay. Very remote and self contained. We also visited the spa and that was a great experience.
Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
Excellent Hotel with beautiful Beach, Liked Fisherman's Whraf and the rooms were cosy with cute balconies.Though we got complimentary tea/ Coffee at evening but drinking water wasn't complimentary.Overall a nice hotel. Sumant & Susita Mishra, India.
Perfect honeymoon destination”
for a honeymoon couple, this is just the place to be. we were at black parrot suites portion of the hotel. the restaurant and other facilities remain the same except the 2nd floor deck with a beautiful view and of course the rooms. you can do canoeing, snorkelling, play giant chess, read books from the library..the breakfast spread was good on all days even though more or less the same. dinner buffet was nice but not spectacular. the room, location and everything else certainly was..you can spend all your time at the resort and not be bored.rooms are particularly beautiful with view of the sea and the wharf from the balcony. in case you are the exploration type, cars can be easily rented. hotel staff is very obliging and helpful and always available with a smile. perfect for a romantic holiday..
Fantastic hotel and location”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coco de mer, this was the second hotel we stayed at in the Seychelles and what a delight it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was cleaned to a high standard. The food available from the buffet was varied, they hosted many different themed nights catering for a wide variety of tastes. The hotel has a wonderful pool that looks across the ocean, you can hire kayaks for free they also have a library and a gym where you can also go for free. This is a highly recommended hotel and would definitely go back.
Clean and cute room”
We used this for our honeymoon. Hotel is not luxuary, but cute and nice, the best thing is friednly staff. We also liked the pretty room decoration. Just the choise of the menu in the restaurant is not very wide.
Nice,comfortable, good service,friendly staff. ”
it was a comfortable stay, staff are very cordial,friendly,helpful...junior suites are very spacious and comfortable..hotel is very close to valley de mai which is a must see...they can improve upon the variety of their buffet breakfast, but the rest was all pretty good....perfect for relaxation in calm, serene surroundings.
lovely hotel with nice decoration”
we live in coco der mer hotel. superior room. it is well decorated, also a jacuzzi in the room. the staff are very nice, always smile and say hello to you. the buffet for the dinner is great but a little bit expensive(790ruppees/person). it is very comfortable to laid on the deck chair, face to the sea, listen some music and read a favorate book. alough there are lots of seaweed float on the sea near the beach. not very advisable to snokelling here. under the fisherman's wharf, lots of fishes and about 5 big angel fishes, staff feed them at 9:30 everyday, also you could feed the your own way.
