It is the perfect getaway for a culturally immersive experience. My room was very clean and comfortable. A simple, self-served breakfast of ramyeon, eggs, toast, juice & coffee is offered to guests in the morning. The location is a bit further away from some historic sites. But the absolute best parts were waking up to the beautiful garden outside and being only a short walk to Woljeonggyo Bridge, which is amazing to witness at night. Keep in mind that this is a more rural area. The owner speaks limited English but is a very kind man and super responsive online. I loved my stay here and would highly recommend it!
The place was very nice, clean and tidy. It’s a bit of a walk from the center, but totally manageable, and the area is actually quieter and more pleasant if you want to relax and enjoy the authentic hanok vibe with a spacious yard. The owner was also very kind. They don’t interact with guests too much, but you can really feel their warm-hearted, genuine Korean hospitality. I would love to bring my family here in the future. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear some noise from the next room, but it wasn’t a problem at all—it’s expected in a hanok, and it wasn’t loud.
It was my first time visiting Gyeongju, 'The Museum Without Walls' so I also decuded to have my first experience of a traditional Hanok stay. I'm so glad that I chose this pension for my stay. It's located just outside of the downtown area so you're surrounded by fields and houses. It's actually within walking distance of the town, but if you don't feel like walking you can easily get a taxi or head to a nearby bus stop. It's also within walking distance of some of Gyeongju's most famous historical sites, such as Cheomseongdae and Woljeonggyo Bridge. Close to the bridge, there is a small hanok village with cute cafés and gift shops. There's also a small convenience store too. The pension itself is absolutely beautiful, especially at night and early in the morning. You can see great views of the fields and it's extremely peaceful and quiet, except for the croaking of the frogs! But I'd prefer to fall asleep listening to them over traffic noise. My room was very clean and tidy. They provide bedding, towels, water (inside the mini fridge), soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner which is very convenient. There's also a hair dryer available. As it's a hanok stay, you do sleep on the floor. It takes a little getting used to, but it's a good experience. My room was warm but not too hot during the night so it was comfortable. The owners are so kind and helpful. They don't speak English so if you can speak some Korean that would be useful, otherwise a translation app like Papago is essential. But both owners always greet you with a smile and want you to feel comfortable. If you need clean towels or more water they will happily provide it. Breakfast is available until around 10 or 10:30am. You can use the kitchen facilities and have coffee or fruit juice. There's also fruit, toast, eggs etc. I was a little nervous about travelling solo to another city in Korea, but I felt so welcome and cared for by the owners at the pension, almost like I was at a home stay. I really enjoyed my trip and hope to visit again some day.

“What an experience!!!”
We booked a hanok stay for the experience and what an experience we got! The room was same as the photos. It was very clean and very homey. It was a bit of a walk to the sights but the weather was pleasant when we went so it was not a bother. The way to the attractions was a sight in itself. The walk was pretty enjoyable. There’s free breakfast served at 8 AM at the communal kitchen. There’s bread, eggs, jam, fruit and ramen. This is self-service so you prep your own food and clean after yourself. There’s also milk, juice and brewed coffee too. I’d say the commute to the stay was easy. We book an Uber to get back there. The only hiccup was when we checked out and it was taking a while to get an Uber Taxi to the next hotel we were staying at. The owner saw us waiting outside for some time and insisted to drive us to our next destination which was about 2 km away. It was the best service ever! He didn’t have to do that but it really elevated our experience when the host went above and beyond like that. He didn’t even want to take our money for the transfer. We were truly grateful for the kindness he extended. If you are ever looking to get a hanok stay experience try booking this place for a serene and restful vacation.
