Friendly staff, clean and next to metro station”
Good location in nice quiet area next to Hansomon tube station providing access to Tokyo and the sights. Rooms on the small side but adequate. Clean and modern rooms and facilities. Very helpful staff.
Value for money”
The hotel was right across the subway station. There were also a lot of nearby convenience stores and restaurants. Appreciated the free skin care sachets at the lobby. Would stay here again in our next travel to Japan :)
The hotel is value for money. It is a business hotel which is great as all the amenities are provided, incuding a mobile phone. MRT is opposite the hotel. Only con is that is not close to all the sights. So you do need to travel a bit. If you are short of time stay in the main areas.
Excellent location, just several meters from subway. Staff are very accomodating. Convenience stores nearby. You can leave your luggages before check in so if you arrive early, just leave those bulky bags start exploring. Checking in and out is a breeze. And lastly, they have a phone that you can use as mobile hotspot so no need to get a sim or rent wifi.
Very nice hotel in Tokyo”
Nice location. Just 1 train away from tokyo station and other spots. Very big room compared to other hotel rooms in Japan. And affordable as well
Handy WiFi is very helpful and the location is across the Hanzomon subway (exit 5) with family mart/7-11/restaurants nearby. the location is few minutes walk to imperial palace and tokyo station. Need to improve the room WiFi. Overall, best choice to stay and will highly recommend to travelers.
Quiet place to stay if you don't like noises. Train station is just opposite the hotel. There's like 7-eleven and 2 Family Marts, super convenient. Room and toilet is okay as we are quite small in size.
Location was great, just across Hanzomon Station (Exit5). Love our room with complete toiletries (shampoo conditioner body wash shaving stuff and the likes) including fresh pajamas daily. Quiet sorroundings with Family Mart and 7 11 just nearby. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.
Quite location in busy Tokyo”
This hotel is relatively new. The price is very reasonable. Metro station is right across the street. It is close to Shibuya and Tokyo Station. Parking spaces are very limited and tight, and cost JPY2000/night. The room is bigger than I expected. We could comfortably open up 2 large luggage inside the room. Would return if going to Tokyo again.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice and extremely clean. The hotel is RIGHT next to Hanzomon station, which is great, even if Hanzomon isn’t on the main lines in Tokyo. You will have to transfer lines a bit to get from Hotel Monterey to the main attractions in Tokyo.
Convenient and value for money”
Right outside metro station. Very convenient. with eateries, convenience shops and supermarkets next to it. Front desk staff speaks good English and helpful. Cancelled my other booking to extend my stay at his hotel
Close to metro station”
It’s just right outside Hanzomon metro station. Very convenient with convenience shops and supermarket less than 5minutes away. We see several Asian and Caucasian families with young children staying in same hotel.
Good Value Not large but ok”
Rooms not big but bathroom very good with nice bath. Location excellent as it’s central to everything - about 4-5 subway stations to most things from Hanzonon. Staff very friendly we did not use Hitel Facilities so really no comment on Restaurant
Clean and quiet place, convenient for business trip”
Subway just right in front of the hotel, big room, very helpful front desk staff, hotel also provides skin care products, thumb up!
Take one large step and you are in Hanzomon station”
or several small steps
Very convenient location”
The train station is very close to the hotel with one exit with an elevator just across the road. There are some local food place in walking distance that cater for any budget, from low to high. English speaking service staff was a challenge but at least most some form of English menu. The feature we liked the most was the free smartphone that you can take around when exploring Tokyo, which saves you from the hassle of buying a local SIM card. Keep in mind that the hotel strictly adheres to the 3pm check-in time and in contrast to many other hotels around the world does not entertain any thought of letting you enter the room earlier. The rooms were very nice and clean in the usual small Japanese size, What unfortunately took us a few days to realize is that you need to place a card on the bed if you do NOT wish your linen to be changed daily whereas the international standard is to place the card if you DO wish a daily change..
Thank you very much for using Hotel Monterey Hanzomon this time. In addition, thank you again for your continued feedback during the busy season. We will continue to make further efforts to improve the service in the future, so if you have the opportunity again, we are happy to be able to use our hotel. We are looking forward to seeing you again from our hearts.
Best hotel we have stayed in Japan sa far”
I did not originally book Hotel Monterey Hanzomon for the Tokyo leg of our vacation. I booked another hotel near it. Luckily, we were able to change our booking and was able to stay in Hotel Monterey Hanzomon. The room was as big as many hotels in the West. For the first time since we arrived in Japan, we were staying in a hotel where you can actually move around the room! The hotel is not near any tourist sights (it is in the wrong side of the Imperial Palace ground) but we are not complaining. Far from it, we actually liked the fact that we were in the quiet and not crowded part of Tokyo. Access to transportation was fantastic as exit number 5 of the Hanzomon station was just across the street. There were a number of nice restaurants and since they were not really targeting tourists, their prices were pretty reasonable. We were able to buy a 3-day subway pass (JR lines excluded) from the hotel for 1,500 yen which was very convenient and economical. Will definitely stay here again!
Close to subway exit, and Familymart closeby. Rooms are nice. Location close to Imperial Gardens East (about 20 min walk) and Sakura avenue. Seems to be a business district so need to travel via subway to other areas, which is easy access.
Comfortable room, a bit larger than typical twin room in Japanese hotels under same star category. Poor TV channel offerings. Just 1 channel and mostly only Japanese. A few minutes in the morning of English news. Reception staff lacking in rapport. Dealing with guests in a rather cold manner - quite common in Japanese hotels. Location very good, being across the street from Exit 5 of Hanzomon metro station. 7-11 and grocery store and small restaurants nearby.
