Bang for Buck Hotel”
Hotel Sunlite is value for money hotel located in the city where there are a number of train stations nearby. Shops and restaurants are also nearby which is very convenient. The room is cleaned everyday which makes the stay really comfy. I would use this again if I travel to Tokyo sometime in the future!
Easy, simple & good location”
This is our third time here. Staff are friendly, location is great, rooms are clean (of course small, but it’s Japan). 3pm check in is rough but seems standard for japan.
As expected the rooms in Japan are small for the price you are paying compared to most places around the world. So stay out an explore and you will not even feel it, otherwise it was perfect for us.
Nice location ”
I like the location. Clean but a bit expensive
Location is good, near the subway. But the subway exit that has elevator is far. Many restaurant around here. The room is small for 2 people.
New and well-equipped JR Hotel above the Train Station”
This was the cheapest hotel ($123AU pn) for a generous twin room) of our trip and the most nicely appointed one. All mod-cons, large room, and comfortable beds. Even a smart phone for use while staying and a choice of pillows. Hard to fault. We didn't try the breakfast/dinner options (not included in above rate) as the $33AU each breakfast buffet cost was unlikely to be justified by our appetites.
The best of this hotel was the location.”
The room was small, just nice for 2 without luggage open up. The laundry is subject to availability. Staff cant really speak very well English, only some basic conversation. The only thing I recommend is only the location of the hotel.
Good room, central location”
Even though we arrived a bit early, we were allowed to check-in and even granted an upgrade to a larger room – thanks! Although without a window, the room was nice and larger than the average Tokyo hotel rooms we had been staying in before. Otherwise everything was as expected: clean, quiet, comfortable. Since we did not book breakfast at the hotel, we had a nice bite at the delicious bakery just next doors. Overall, a nice and comfortable place to stay, in a relatively quiet corner just a few minutes walk from the bustling shopping and nightlife district of in Shinjuku.
One of the worst hotel that I stayed before ”
The hotel room is small as if it meant for single adult but they charged for 3 adults and put us there. The room is too stuffy and hot to stay in. Called the staff but cannot communicated in English. Therefore I tried to open the window so that fresh air can come in but the window can not open fully. Whole night my whole family have to sleep in very hot room. Very uncomfortable. Will definitely not recommend here Nor stay here again. I really wished to cancel my stay and move to a better hotel if I am given a choice of refund!
Great location, very accessible to both bus and subway. A lot of restaurants nearby. Wide bed and comfortable.
good location ”
I was there with my wife, the hotel is near the Shinjuku Sanchome station The hotel is clean and the staff were good. But I think the wall between room is to thin, I can hear persons next of my room talking and doing sexual activity
Clean rooms, good location”
The rooms are tiny but clean. Small rooms are normal in Tokyo, and honestly, who is going to stay in their room all day in Tokyo anyway? All we need is somewhere to sleep, wash and leave our bags. The rooms have been recently renovated. I've stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions over the years and, even before the renovations, all areas of the hotel are always spotless. The location is great. It's away from the noisy, busy part of Shinjuku but still close enough to it. Shinjuku station and the new bus terminal (for Haneda airport) is only a 15 minute walk away, and Shinjuku san-chome station is only a few minutes walk away. The post office, restaurants, convenience stores and vending machines are just minutes from the front door. The hotel has laundry facilities for guests (just 2 washer-dryer combos, so you need to check availability at the front desk) and a restaurant (which closes at about 9pm). Breakfast is quite good and includes cereal, toast, pastries, fish, salad, fruit, yoghurt, juice and coffee. I'll stay here when I visit Tokyo again because it's convenient, friendly and, most importantly, clean.
Perfect location to explore Shinjuku”
Perfect location to explore Shinjuku. There are many of restaurants, bars, and shopping withing minutes of walking. Shinjuku station is within 10-12 minutes by foot. Some room can be very noisy, but overall will definitely stay here again.
An "ok" city hotel”
We booked a twin room, we were placed to the wing side, not in the main building. Room size is quite reasonable, but the bathroom is small and should be called a lavatory instead. It's a block or two away from the night life district, we had a good nite sleep. It is an ok accomodation with a reasonable price.
Good location from Isetan”
We stayed here for our business trip, and the room in new building ( where the lobbtie was)was clean and nice so later we booked as a last minute and the room was in old building ( restaurant side) and it was dark, not very clean. I would reccomend to book this hotel a.s.a.p. to stay in the better one!
Clean, nice hotel”
Hotel was a little further from Shinjuku station than I expected, nevertheless a pleasant walk. Rooms were clean, lobby is WiFi equipped. Friendly counter staff who are able to converse effectively in English. Nearby amenities i.e. convenience store etc. Housekeeping comes in at appropriate times, quite unlike another hotel I've stayed in another part of Tokyo!
Good value for money”
a small and quiet hotel about 15 minutes walk from the shinjuku station east entrance (20 mins with cases). greeted with a happy smile from the helpful reception desk in simple but understandable english. rooms were small but clean, bathroom even smaller but perfectly usable. considering the price and location really good value. restaurant food was ok but expensive, but as hotel is surrounded by hundreds of excellent small restaurants within 2-300 metres and two good convenience stores almost next door this was not a problem. stayed for 7 days without any problems, the rooms were quiet, kept very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. would recommend this good simple hotel to anyone not looking for a bells and whistles.
Glad I chose to stay at Sunlite Shinjuku”
it was my first hotel stay in japan and i was very happy about my choice. the hotel has free wired internet in rooms, free wifi in the lobby and the semi double room was a decent size (for tokyo hotels) with a large bay window, and a very efficiently-designed bathroom which didn't feel as small as it was. the room was very clean, the bed was comfy, and housekeeping excellent. the walk from the airport limousine stop at shinjuku station to the hotel is rather long, easily 20-25 minutes if you do not get lost.
a convenient and nice hotel”
i stayed in the hotel for three nights and i really love the location~!!that i can stay until very late at night on the street becasue the surrounding area close quite late and i can have 24 hours round the clock food if i am hungry~!! and the staff in the hotel is really very nice and helpful~!the are really polite~!i must definitely choose this hotel again if i come next time and i will reccomnad my friends to stay there also
Friendly Staff, Great Location, No Complaints”
Sunlite Shinjuku Hotel is a no frills business hotel. It's a great place for travellers who don't expect much in terms of hotel amenities. However, the rooms are clean and typically small sized for Tokyo. They do have a few English channels on television you just have to press the BS button on the remote control. Just read the one page tv manual and you'll figure it out. The hotel is closer to the Metro station, about a 5 minute walk. The JR Shinjuku station is a pleasant 15 minute walk. I recommend this hotel, it's great for a solo traveler like me.
