Beautifully located with a swimming pool and a nice, but expensive restaurant. Not a proper resort, but a self-catering, leisure area, close to nature, away from crowded beaches, an Eco Resort indeed. Many lovely birds, hilarious crabs hiding in holes, a giant turtle farm, fruit trees. Facilities designed with great taste, in a simple, but elegant, colonial style. AirCon only in smaller bungalows, (a problem for some), but we prefer fans - in every room, very efficient. Our bungalow was very spacious, just by the beach (seaweed on the shore and in the water sometimes, but you still can find a spot to swim). Most importantly, very friendly and helpful service, especially Amit, who helped us all along and Arun and Mandi, who took care of our home. A great place to rest (Wi-Fi only in reception and pool area), calm, separated from busy places, so it's best to rent a car, but it has a bus connection to reach more of Praslin. Perfect spot for starting snorkeling boat trips to the east.
We found this hotel a great location, not far from the Jetty for transfers but quiet and secluded. The best way to see the Island is to hire a car as buses aren’t regular so no need to be in the main areas, everywhere is close! Hotel and staff were lovely. Only downside was the towels and bed linen provided were old and some stained, really need to purchase new ones! We didn’t use the self catering facilities but really enjoyed the breakfast and ate at the restaurant for dinner a few times, great food!
A springboard for Praslin”
Iles Des Palmes is great if you want to go at it, at your own tempo and dime. self catering lodges with a great view right on the water. The beach isn't great for swimming but there are kayaks for free that you can use to cruise around the bay and cove. The restaurant has good food and cocktails although it is a little pricey (as with most things in Seychelles). The staff was excellent and very helpful to organize a rental car for us or to show us on a map where to go on Praslin for the best beach experiences. Praslin is a gem to go and explore and after a long day you can relax in the pool at the resort or go say hi to the giant tortoises. Worth a visit
A relaxing spot under the palms”
This Eco resort is composed of separate cottages for couples, at Pirates Cove, with larger family Colonial bungalows for larger family groups. All are only a few metres from the beach. There are no TVs or air conditioning but the fans work well to keep the mosquitos at bay. There are sea grasses and mangroves very close, but all the Praslin Island corals have suffered after serious heat wave events. There are buses to the major snorkelling sites. The staff are very friendly. The food was very good, but not cheap. There are set menus if you wanted to keep the cost down a bit, but the bar is extensive and well stocked. The geckos really like the bar!
Great staff and a good price. Kitchen facilities were a bit too basic but we still had a great time. you can spend days looking at the bay from the verandah. Central facilities were very good including the pool and lounge for internet. We did not try the restaurant as we were self-catering but it looks nice.
Amazing place, with nice staff”
The place is so nice, well maintained. Staff is very friendly. Amazing sea view at the pool also to the bungalows. Since there is not much public transport, it is recommended to hire a car at the arrival.
Missed opportunities for excellence”
This is a good place that could/should be a great place! It is on a lovely cove with nice views. It is quiet and relaxing. Unfortunately, the bungalow I was staying in wasn't particularly well maintained. Several windows were broken, the bathroom floor looks like it could collapse at any moment, and it might be nice to have some air conditioning for those times when it is especially sticky out. The restaurant makes some really good food but it is empty. I think it has to do with the prices being really high--average meal with a starter, water, and one beer/wine is over 50€. Maybe some more reasonable pricing and happy hour or something to get people in to the bar would make things a little more lively.
Value for money Bungalow on the waters edge”
We enjoyed our honeymoon in this hotel lovely setting, with great views from our veranda and restaurant. The couples bungalows are located on the opposite side of the hotel ground to the family bungalows so we had privacy and quite. The accommodation is a little dated but still has the island feeling which we enjoyed. I believe they are upgrading in the future. It was very clean and our room serviced daily, we loved the themes and fresh flowers that was a different surprise every day. Bungalows are self catering too, but cutlery very limited, we suggest get snacks and drinks from supermarket and keep in your fridge for the afternoon and sun-downers, but dine at restaurant. Daren (Barman) and Alina (head-waitress) is super friendly and gave the best service, thank you! The food was very nice, good chef. We suggest take the half-board option and you will get a different 4 course meal every evening. Located a little far from town and swim beaches but that is what we wanted. You can rent bicycles (20 min to Cote de Or / 15 to Baie ste Anne, flat road) or car (50 Euro p/day for rest of island travel) from them. Best tip: rent the kayak for the day and row around to Emerald cove, probably the best snorkel spot and secluded beaches.
Nice stay at Iles des Palmes”
We spent 5 relaxing days at Iles des palmes. Bungalows are clean with everyday housekeeping. The sea is not good for swimming but it is a great to sit on your terrace and watching to the sea. Breakfast is served with fruits, toast, very tasteful banana jam, and eggs. I will recommend this hotel for couples or families who are looking quite place for relaxing holidays.
Wonderful location, relaxed atmosphere”
We had a great time at Iles des Palmes, quiet and relaxed place to stay, close to Ferry, very friendly staff, cosy and spacious bungalow on beautiful spot! Would definetly recommend it to people who don't like big resorts.
Friendly reception with Amith who helped in planning to curieuse island and snorkeling. We stayed for 3 nights in the last single bungalow where there were lots of big crabs on the way to room the path is not well managed, the restaurant guy was not friendly, no dental kit .
view is good stuff are nice ”
the view is good stuff are nice but no hot water rooms are clean
A beautiful place that misses perfect by a few details”
IdP is a nice resort with a few really nice features (the pool area, the tortoise pavillion, the free kayaks, the nice veranda and size of the lodges, the extremely friendly and helpful staff) but also a few caveats: the wifi does not cover all of the resort, the restaurant is a bit bland and very pricy and very few lodges have A/C. Also, be aware that the location is a bit remote - to get to anything (other restaurants, beaches, shopping) you'll need to either have a car (the hotel offers car rental for €45/day) or use the bus. We recommend the latter, a bus stop for all lines is 15 min away and the buses work really well - and only cost €0.50/trip. All in all we had a good stay, but keep the things above in mind. Especially the restaurant prices: if you don't self-cater at least partly, it will be costly.
Not worth the money. Stay away.”
We stayed at 3 different hotels on 3 different islands and this one by far was the worst of them all. 1. No phones in the rooms. The reception is simply inaccessible without going there personally . 2. The restaurant is terribly slow and expensive. On 14th Feb they would serve only the set dinner at a whooping cost of 900 SCR. A bottle of water costs 60 SCR. And no complementary bottles of water in the rooms. 3. We travelled from India and didn't have travel adapters to fit into the European style plug points at the hotel. In the other 2 hotels we stayed at, the plug points were available at the reception at a small security deposit. The conversation with the hotel staff went on the lines- "it is a problem whenever Indians come over to stay..." which was in extremely bad taste. 4. The hotel staff refused to help put the luggage in the taxi that we arranged. They would help only if we take taxi arranged by them. 5. The beach - weed infested in Feb and not even average in any case.
More a 3 star resort, not a 4 star. Not even a lampshade on the ceiling, just a plain bulb. Only one nightstand lamp. Poor and dull room decoration made it feel like a 2 star. Great receptionist, Eric, that did everything for making us feel welcomed and special. Not easy to find such a polite and service minded hard worker.
Serious lack of cleanliness, very unfriendly staff. Booked through Agoda who were very helpful in helping me get refund otherwise hotel staff refused. Booked the place for 4 nights but left after one night. It's too expensive for the services offered. Unfriendly staff who will just follow hotel rules without understanding customer needs. I was given dirty room and after complaining they just reorganised it. In non AC room mosquitoes and heat will kill you.
not too safe”
The environment was good, location was so so , at night was too quiet. we were the only family who had stayed there for 3 nights. The house was cleaned everyday even the dishes, however, i forgot my wallet in the room and when i came to find it, some cash was missing which really disappointed me . So you have to be very careful with your personal belongings if you stay there.
Average resort, good value for money”
Iles des Palmes Eco Resort gives good value for money. Remember the price tag, if you miss something. The location is quite off. Be prepared to walk if you need a bus to Cote d'Or. Or rent a car. No air cons can make evenings tough, when flies and moskitos become active. Hanging at the pool id great - We loved it! One of the servers (Dared ?) was extremely helpful and friendly. Ok for some days when you search for a mid-budget place.
Expensive hotel, but nice stuff”
We spent there a very good time, Praslin and the hotel was expensive. The restaurant of the hotel is very expensive. The stuff of the hotel is really nice, the pool looks excellent. In the future a hairdryer in the rooms would be a good investment.
Great family vacation ”
We had a great time at Iles des palmes, quiet and relaxed place to stay, owner and staff very friendly, bungalow spacious with beautiful view. Would definitely recommend it to people looking for quiet and cosy place.
