“Better than Expected”
We stayed here for our honeymoon in the Executive Suite and had a pleasant experience. One of the first things we appreciated was the location. The hotel is relatively close to the airport and conveniently located in the heart of Chiang Mai’s Old Town. Many temples and the Sunday Walking Street Market are within easy walking distance, which made exploring the area very convenient. Upon arriving, the lobby looked modern and chic. At first we didn’t immediately see someone at the front desk, but the café staff quickly helped bring someone over and we were checked in right away. Our room happened to be located right beside the elevator, which initially made us a little concerned about potential noise and foot traffic. However, this ended up not being an issue at all during our stay. Once inside the room, we found it to be a comfortable and spacious boutique-style room. The bathroom featured a nice bathtub and separate shower, and the Japanese-style bidet toilet was a great added touch. The bed was comfortable and the room was well maintained. As travelers from Canada, we tend to have fairly high expectations when it comes to comfort and cleanliness, and this hotel definitely met those standards. If you are someone who is particular about accommodations, you will likely feel very comfortable staying here. On our first day, unfortunately I experienced stomach issues from the previous day of travel. My wife spoke with Ella at the front desk, who was very helpful. She suggested some remedies and advised us to go to a local hospital if the pain did not improve. The next day, she even checked in with us to make sure we were okay. Her kindness and support truly went above and beyond, and we really appreciated her care during a stressful moment of the trip. In terms of noise, we had initially noticed a school across the street, and with our room being beside the elevator we thought it might be loud. However, throughout our stay we experienced no noise issues at all and slept very peacefully. The front desk staff were also very helpful in assisting us with booking excursions. When we sent our laundry for service, they actually washed, dried, and neatly folded everything for us, which was a very pleasant surprise. Before booking, we had read some reviews suggesting the breakfast wasn’t great or not very fresh, but in our experience this was not the case at all. The breakfast was perfectly in line with a solid 4-star standard. The food was freshly prepared and kept hot, there was also a good selection of cereal, bread, and refreshments, and everything was well stocked. Nothing tasted stale or cold, and we even noticed the manager checking on the quality during service. It’s not a luxury buffet, but it is more than sufficient and a great way to start the day before exploring the city. The only downside to note is that the price did feel a bit steep, especially since we visited during peak season. However, considering the comfort, cleanliness, location, and excellent service from the staff, we still felt it was a pleasant stay. Overall, although the hotel is marketed as a 3-star property, as Canadians we would honestly rate it closer to a solid 4-star experience thanks to the comfort, cleanliness, excellent location, and exceptional service from the staff.
