Recommended stay in Kelimutu Crater area”
As our guide said, this property is one of the best accommodations in surrounding area to visit the famous Kelimutu Crater Lakes. Staffs were really helpful during our stay there, as well as the comfortable and clean bedroom. The property also serves lunch/dinner at their on-site restaurant. However, it is advisable to order food early if you do not want to wait too long. Worth noting that the average time to prepare a decent food in Nusa Tenggara's restaurants, based on our group experiences, is about 45 to 90 minutes. This is quite a long time compared to other touristic destinations in Indonesia. The property does not provide wi-fi facilities considering its status as an eco-lodge. Additionally, if there is anything to be improved, certainly is the bathroom in our room. In summary, we can conclude that we are quite satisfied with our experience of staying here.

Lovely accommodation in a nice area of Flores”
the accommodation was a traditional style and very comfortable and quiet with a good restaurant near by. it is a good place to stay if you want to visit the kelimutu crater lakes (only 20 mins. drive).

the best location to visit kelimutu lake”
we stayed here for 1 night to be able to see kelimutu lake at sunrise. contrary to some reviews the rooms were clean , bed linen impeccable. food ok , staff wonderful . our guide ( patrice) was good , learned a lot from him considering the remoteness of the place everything was good. getting in and out was a problem , because they are working on the road between ende airport and moni, it took us almost 4 hours . another option is using maumere airport instead of ende, driving time probably less.

Best option in town”
The lodge itself is lovely and set in nice grounds an easy walk from the village of Moni. The restaurant has decent food (both local and a set menu) but you need to order in advance if you want dinner since it is so small. The inside-outside bathroom is nice, as is the balcony on each little cottage. It seems the lodge is more geared up to groups passing through than independent travellers like me. For example, I was presented with a bill for the room on leaving, even though I'd arrived with an Agoda voucher, but this was easily sorted out. Also, the manager didn't seem willing to help me organise transport on to my next destination, whereas other small hotels on my trip through Flores organised seats in shared taxis for me that included pick up from the hotel. The best the lodge could do was wait with me by the roadside for the bus to pass by... all of which were full!! It was left to another guest who had a rented car and was also going to Bajawa to offer me a ride and save the day. Also, when I wanted transport to Kelimutu, the manager suggested a car at 500,000 rupiah - I finally got him to find me a motor bike ride at If the lodge is going to work with Agoda and therefore with individual travellers they need to gear up a bit better to their needs.

Most comfort near Kelimutu”
I stayed here with my family for one night. We arrived late in the evening but the staff was always ready to serve us and provide everything we need. We add an extra bed and the room is not spacious enough. Anyway, our sleep was comfort and they woke us up on 4 AM as we requested cause we will climb to Kelimutu. The distance from lodge to Kelimutu is around 15 KM or about 45 minutes. From Kelimutu we back to the lodge for breakfast and then we checked out. Breakfast also good. The options are bread, waffle and fried rice.

Great place to stay when visiting Kelimutu.”
Very friendly and informative staff. A bit outside the actual town on Moni on the way towards Maumere, but very walkable. Go down into the village at the intersection rather than just along the highway into the main town; you won't be disappointed. Restaurant/bar and area by stream is very nice. Bring bug spray, and is a eco-lodge, so no fan/air-con, so can be a little warm.

Great place to stay if your visiting Moni and Kelimutu Volcano”
We were greeted with great staff and loved our stay at the Eco Lodge. I have stayed once before and this was my second time very comfortable and lovely staff.

A very pleasant location”
Beautifully manicured gardens in this ecolodge a little walk from the town centre. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful to our little boy in particular. Bathroom a little bit of a disappointment - floor always wet from the shower, causing the bedroom to be a little damp too. Suspect the bathrooms in the (more expensive) villas/cottages would be nicer (also, suspect that they would be quieter and you would avoid being woken at 4am when tour groups leave for the crater sunrise). Overall, a very nice setting and a relaxing stay.

safe option in moni”
Good lodge, but definitely different than a proper hotel. Rooms have some open space above the windows (closed only with mosquito nets) and windows/doors do not close ermetically; this means that night humidity enters the room and can make it very cold at night. Room not made up after the first night (on a two night stay). Floor of the room not perfectly clean and stained bed linen. Basic breakfast. Poor forniture (eco should not necessarily mean poor or very different than luxury). Somehow overpriced but actually the only option in Moni. Very good value for money the airport transfer and the kelimutu day trip.

Comfortable and well serviced ”
The eco lodge itself is very pleasant, with beautiful gardens that are well maintained. The rooms, although small, have all the essentials, including comfortable beds. The food was adequate at the lodge restaurant. For those staying a bit more than one night, there is a wonderful restaurant in the town of Moni called 'Good Moni', situated on top of the hillside with great views and excellent food.

The best option for nice rooms and quiet stay close to the national park. The hotel can arrange transport to the craters.

Moni near Kelimutu is beautiful. ”
We had a pleasant stay at the Eco lodge and liked the surrounding area very much. The hotel itself seems to be a little pricey but in comparison to what is available in the area, it's definitely the best place to stay. We stayed above the kitchen, so once the staff arrived it got pretty noisy with all the loud chatter. The food menu can offer more than literally two or three dishes that they only had available at specific times or were out of. Try the restaurant Bintang down the road, they have more food options and the price is half as much. Just don't have high expectations and you will be satisfied with the basics.

Best in moni ...”
It's not hard to be the best in moni, but the eco lodge surpasses anything in this one street town by far. With that said it's still has its shortcomings and room for improvement.

So beautiful and serene”
Very close to Kelimutu. Very beautiful and pastoral setting. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food.

beautiful landscaped and quiet area”
I agree that for Flores this place is a bit overpriced but it does an effort at making the place as eco friendly as possible, hiring and training staff and setting the standard for the rest of accomodation in Moni. Case in point is the former cook of the resort who opened a restaurant which is now the best place to go for food and at a reasonable price, Santiago. This while the kitchen in the Ecolodge is rather basic in choice and the service not consistent. For this price category a better service can be expected, both while booking, as during our stay small things such as throwing away my water bottle which I used for refilling, or throwing away my contact lenses when cleaning the bathroom; forgetting to serve some dishes at breakfast, not being able to return money when settling the bill at check-out because the accountant has not arrived at 9AM....nothing major but all small things which should not happen in the first place. Overall the experience was pleasant and probably still your best bet if you don't mind paying close to a million IDR/night

Dirty, stained bedsheets ”
Our experience of this hotel was unpleasant: -In our room, the sheets on our bed were old and stained. The blanket was speckled with spots. The undersheets had large, visible yellow stains on them. -The hotel's prices for visits to the crater lakes were ridiculous. Anyone who has travelled in Indonesia knows that $100 for the 30 min each way journey is unrealistic. Prices a third of this can be found in the nearby town which is a ten minute walk away. Turn right out of the hotel and walk...not left out of the hotel as the English-speaking GM advised me. - The next morning we left for the lakes, which were amazing! On our return to the hotel I needed to book an onward flight, and because the area has no mobile coverage, I asked if it was possible to use to a hotel computer with fixed line internet. The GM told me it didn't work, and hadn't worked for three months. This was implausible, given that we had made our booking there online, as I imagine do most of the hotel's visitors.
