Lagos City Center hotels & places to stay

Inside old city, a distance from train & bus station. Owner not in premises and staff is working in the hostel next door to the reception. Have to buzz and wait for him as he is working in the hostel most of the time, even after reception opens after 10am. Takes a while to adapt to the room because there is no bedside light and power socket beside the bed.

Best Hostel in Lagos! Enjoyed my stay a lot. It has an awesome roof top terrace with a jacuzzi! The host Tommy is very funny and enjoys to make his guests happy.

Booked one, and ended up booking a second night. It was a great hostel, with great people running it. My roommate was an Aussie that had been there a few weeks. I rented a scooter around the corner and went on a day trip to the end of the old world. There are beaches everywhere, and hiking is a good option too. The place was clean, and the staff were super friendly. It was the night Portugal won the cup, and a gentleman named Ronnato was in the dining room watching the game on the tv. We had snacks and enjoyed seeing Portugal win the big one for the first time in 40 years. There is free fruit, espresso machine, and cozy little dining area. The hostel is located off the main drag if you are looking for a solid nights sleep. Towels provided, and the bedding changed regularly. Easily one of the better hostels for the price. Great night in Lagos!

Excellent location (although noisy overnight so bring earplugs - the area is noisy at night with bars but we loved being in the main area so didn't mind). Basic but acceptable breakfast. Washrooms nice and clean. Staff extremely lovely.

Great location - easy walking distance to beaches, small supermarkets and places to eat; nightlife almost on doorstep but far enough away that you aren't too affected by noise in the early hours; 10 - 15 min walk from main bus station; 15 - 20 mins walk to train station. Staff extremely welcoming. Good access to facilities within hostel including washing machine and terrace to dry clothes; full kitchen with coffee machine. Good light and reasonable airflow in room (a little less privacy around bunks as a result). Clean, gender segregated bathrooms - some may find them a little cosy.

This hostel is perfectly located in Lagos and was very pleasant! The terrace was nice and the private room we got had everything we needed but is not totaly private (very close to the terrace and people could hear us talk from the outside pretty well). The wifi was not really adequate (keeps shutting down). Everything else was up to our expectations.

Such a fantastic time spent in this very homely place . We loved everyone who worked there they really made us feel at home. This place is a gem and great value for money. I will definitely come back 10/10 for me . Lana the receptionist was truly amazing. She made us feel so welcome and at home . I look forward to seeing her again. Even the cleaning lady Florian was funny and was super nice

There were no where near enough bathrooms, one per floor with up 16 people. The bathrooms had lots of things broken including no toilet seat. The room was clean but noisy next to the road and with a dorm room on the same floor. The kitchen had 4 stoves which would not work of other appliances were in use. The staff were good and helpful.

We went there to spend one week in Lagos for our holidays, despite some bad reviews we can say that the place was clean enough and the people who work in this hostel were amazing, all kind person that offer us free wine during the evening and share their stories with us. We spend a really good time there, highly recommended.

Comfortable bed, good shower. Fairly central to train, bus and city center. Good value for money

Very good location , amazing clean hostel with a pool at the rooftop with the best view ( sea), very friendly atmosphere , very easy to meet up with other traveler ..don’t think twice .. this is the place to be ..

This is literally someone's house where they rent out rooms to visitors. Our room had a kitchenette and a slow draining shower (which they quickly fixed). It was a stone's throw away from the central area, parking was accessible, close to the ferry to take you to the beach.

I really enjoyed the stay even though it was only one night. The apartment is located at a great central spot, close to the centre and the beaches. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the apartment itself was nicely furnished and equipped. guarded parking lot just around the corner. Would definitely stay here again when in Lagos!

The location is great- good food were within minutes of walking. Room came with 1 double bed which is not too small for 2 pax. Room was very well housekept. Would definitely return to this hotel again if we are visiting lagos in future.

the first part of a two day stay of a six day holiday.lovely room and clean fabulous view from the bed each morning,the sea, lagos marina, old town and the beach in the distance. many thanks david for the green white wine. i will be coming back here again in the summer of 2013. i would recomend these apartments.

They have a beautiful terrace overlooking the city walls. It's a 5 minute walk to the city center through literally, a hole in the wall but make sure you don't get lost at night. Owners were very warm and welcoming, helped us throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious and the shared bathroom per floor were kept clean. There's a kitchen too and free tea on the floor. Breakfast - only thing I felt missing were warm eggs, but other than that it was okay. I would stay here again next time we visit Lagos.

Really enjoyed this place. The location is pretty much as central as you can be in old city Lagos. The breakfast was great, and the rooms are pretty large. Take note that some (all?) rooms are smoking, so be sure to ask before you book if this would be a problem for you.

This hotel in great location situated between the town & Marina. Also benefits from in & outdoor pool, shuttle bus to private beach, good breakfast, self service, a lovely outside balcony avail to sit on for breakfast in you prefer, sauna, gym, nightly entertainment which is in the bar area. There is a club you can join when you there at reception which gives you free water on day 1 & a free daily english newspaper each day apart from the day you leave. like all hotels prices at bar are more than local bars, but it is a very nice bar. There is also a beautiful patio restuarant, a la carte, which you pay extra for, even if you half board, we were only b&b as like to eat out at the many places in Lagos. Parts of the hotel are a little dated, but it is clean, maids in everyday, good service & great location. Everything you need inc bikes to hire & car park if you have hire car

The Dream Lagos B&B offers great facilities, nice rooms, a very good breakfast and perfect cleanliness for an affordable budget. The owner is very friendly, helpful and gives you great advices what to do in and around Lagos. He’s always up for a chat and cares if everything is alright. He even prepared us a big breakfast to take away, because we had to leave early and bought gluten-free bread for me. The location is a bit outside of the city center, about 15 minutes walk on a little hill. Everything is very easy to reach by foot and there are some buses too for the beaches a little further away. We had a really great stay! Thank you :)

This place was like a paradise... very friendly staff, and located so close to everything. The buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the bed was heavenly. Probably the best accommodation of our trip!

Loved everything about this apartment style hotel. Tons of space, roof top patio, beautiful pool area and all in the perfect location. Only 5 minute walk to the start of the beaches and 10 minutes max to city centre with all the shops and restaurants. Staff is so kind and helpful, wifi worked great and our place had two bathrooms. Would definitely book this place when I come back to Lagos.

We arrived without much expectations but this place was a top notch! the location is super as it is 10 minutes walk to the center. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable and the bed is super for a night of relaxing. The staff is very helpful and the greatest surprise of all was the breakfast!! WOW!! what a breakfast it had it all, very tasty, super fresh and the employees at the breakfast were very efficient!... every piece of food they has there was super delicious and it is too bad I'm in a diet because I would have eat-it all!!! The receptionist upon check-in and check-out were very nice and polite and very efficient and they always greeted us with an smile. We think we forgot in our room some ceramic cups we bought in a pottery outside Lagos and we are very sad but this also means one day we'll be back here ;)

the place is very clean, very beautifully furnished! location is pretty good, a 10 min walk away from the old town and 10 mins away from the praia don ana beach. would highly recommend for families and friends looking for a home away from home in Lagos!

Loved staying at with Maria for a few days to explore Lagos. They are extremely hospitable and the property is very well located to bars, resteraunt and the beach. The resteraunt around the corner is a must and the best Portuguese menu we have had anywhere. Would love to come back for summer.

Awful experience. We have contacted the host after arrival to Lagos, but we were told to wait, because there were some problems. After a while we were told that there is some mistake since this apartment cannot accommodate 6 persons as it was written in the description, since it is not a 3 bedroom, but only 1 bedroom apartment. However the host asked us to wait for another hour as he promised to search for other solutions. Sadly the host never contacted us again and did not pick up his phone. Therefore we were forced to search for other accommodation possibilities and now we are still in communication with Agoda in order to refund paid booking fee, although we never entered the apartment and informed Agoda about situation immediately.
