Lake Tekapo hotels & places to stay

i was impressed by the hotel services and its boutique design. the lake view offers additional satisfaction for the price paid. its definitely a 5-star hotel and i do believe it will be among the top hotels in lake tekapo if it isn't one now.

We booked the whole apartment option and the house was fantastic. The cookery and beddings were all good. But I still have to point out a few things to improve: 1. At this price range, complimentary wifi with 2 GB bandwidth limit seems a bit penny-pinching. 2. The under-stove oven worked fine but as we preheated it the foul odor from previous cooking fumed the whole living room. I think they should ask the clients while checking out whether they use the oven and arrange cleaning accordingly. 3. The dish washer was absolutely helpful and yet the complimentary cleaner fluid/powder only came with 2 use per stay I suppose. If frequent cooking is to be expected, be careful with the dishes. Despite several things stated above, we all quite enjoyed the stay at the Mantra Lake Tekapo Hotel. I was able to enjoy the starry night with a glass of wine in the backyard, which is a fantastic experience you should definitely try. Cheers!

At Lake Tekapo where everything costs so much, this 2 bedroom cabin was a very good find. Its view was awesome though there was some road works going on, and is equipped with simple pots and pans, oven, salt and pepper for your simple cooking needs. The bathroom is surprising very big, warm and spotless. Highly recommend this place that is adequate for 5! The location is slightly off the main tourist area but a little 5-15min wall is actually a plus in this lovely lake area.

We stayed at Pukeko Palace (3 bedroom house), the house interior design is so beautiful and modern. The kitchen is perfect, living hall is spacious, bedrooms are very cozy. They provide washing powder, washing machine and clothes dryer. The location is near the historic Good Shepherd Church, the Lake Tekapo and the mini town. In the town, got a Tekapo 4 square supermarket, things are quite cheap. Also has a good Japanese Restaurant (Kohan Japanese Restaurant) and good souvenir shop (Aotea Gifts).

Might overshot the place but driving in New Zealand town is within 30-50 so can find it with ease. They do have rice cooker and all the appliances plus cutleries. Our house do not include the skylight whereby you can open and view the stars which is disappointment. It has a small patio but we cant simply view the stars from outside as it very cold. Most of toiletries are included except toothbrus and tooth paste but we brought along our own shower gel, shampoos and conditioner. It is situated near the Church of shepherd. Short drive to a small town. Heater in first room not that good as unable to cover lower part of body but can use the thick blanket for cover. Rate is not cheap and the view from living room to Lake Tekapo with the snow mountain is stunning. You can view from the tv with youtube and it comes with a Google to on the music. Place is clean though.

It's a quite nice place for sleeping a night.Staff is very friendly.Room is small but very clean and warm.shower room and kitchen are also clean.I have a nice time in Lake Tekapo

I went to lake tekapo to view beautiful thousands of stars other than lake Tekapo itself. This hotel is quite close to Church of the Good Shepherd by walk within 5 minutes. And you can go to office of Eart I h & Sky / village center by walk within 5 minutes. the room was very cleand and wide enough for solo traveler. I recommend to couples or family to stay here. Ms. Amina helped me to keep my baggage after I chekced out out and took me to bus stop by her drive. I thanked her kind support to carry my baggage to the bus stop. I could catch the Intercity bus to Queenstown in time. I want to stay this hotel again.

I had the best stay ever. The apartment was modern, spacious, and most importantly, warm! We could see the night sky on the bed from the window, kitchen and bathroom amenities complete. Modern dishwasher and washing machine, Netflix and WiFi! Best of all was the service, going out of her was to make our stay wonderful in Tekapo. 100% recommend. Thank you so much！

Three Rivers Lodge is in a quiet location slightly out of town. Our room was well-appointed and very comfortable with lovely views over Lake Tekapo. Our hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming and provided a delicious breakfast and excellent conversation. They provided recommendations on restaurants for dinner and places to visit. We had a nice walk along the lake shore to the town for dinner but followed the footpath beside the road on our way back. The return walk was dark because Lake Tekapo is in the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve and street lighting is all low level However, this does mean that views of the stars are excellent on a clear night.

We have 3 young boys and stayed for two nights. We had a blast and the home is top notch. Views are incredible. I would stay here again for more nights and treck to the top of the mountain for star gazing. We were very happy.

What a cool pad. Very nicely decorated and perfectly clean and cosy. The accommodation was beautifully presented with quality bedding and a well equipped kitchen. Included dishwasher, dryer, and even a tv at the end of each bunk. Lovely views and so peaceful. Thanks for having us.

Excellent position! Commanding views over the lake north towards the mountains. Will definitely stay here again.

The apartment was very big and beautiful. Host was very nice. He allowed us put the luggage before check in time.

Typically, we stay at 4-5 star, large chain resorts but we were tremendously pleased with the comfort and charm of of Tekapo Heights. Sam was very polite, thoughtful, and made good recommendations. Having come from a disappointing and expensive hotel the night before in another NZ city, the attention to detail in our room was very much appreciated. Everything ran so smoothly and the bed was so cozy and comfortable! It was the best of the last 6 hotels on our stay. Though we weren’t right on the lake, we really enjoyed spending the evening on the back patio

It was a bit difficult to find the check in place. However, I found that later, the house manager had already sent me an email about the checking details when I was looking for the check in place. No matter what, it's all worth once you open the door. The view is excellent, the house is really nice and if you are travelling in a group , this is the choice and it won't be wrong. They have BBQ grill, however it was too windy and we did not do that.

Had a wonderful stay here at Majestic View. Location online is misleading as the address stated is actually the administrative office. Have to drive up further higher to reach the house. Took us a while to find the house, it’s actually inside Manning Place, further up in Lochinver Avenue. Despite the difficulties in locating the house, the entire place is huge, clean and perfect for big families. There’s a little porch for BBQ & star gazing. Toilet is very clean, spacious and comes with a heater so you feel all warm and toasty the moment you step out of shower. Highly recommend for big families for greater value.

Location is very near tekapo center. The house is very clean and well equipped. My 2 young boys enjoy feeding the farm animal.

Amazing place with nice touches such as the heated floor in the toilet, smart TV system. Great shared laundry facility as well. We loved this place in the cold autumn nights and it was close to everything you need (food, supermarket), which was just down the hill. The area was nice and quiet ,and provided and a great morning view of Lake Tekapo!

A little bit expensive but worth it for the view! Big, spacious, clean room with huge, comfy bed. Nice washroom and good shower. Great location for getting groceries and restaurants

I like the design of the house. There are 3 bedrooms, comfortable and clean. The facilities are good, washing machine, rice cooker, hair dryer, wifi etc provided. Excellent starry sky at night. Near Shepherd church, 3 minutes drive. The staff is friendly.

Micheal was so kind if you have any problem in Tekapo,he will have you. The property is so clean and the view is awesome, at night you will see the whole star sky<~>

it is difficult to find room in tekapo. red hut is so comfortable and cozy. and has nice mood.

Lilybank Cottage caught my eyes at the first time i see it. It was very beautiful, comfortable and cozy as seen in the pictures. It was very well-designed. Perfect location. It is 1 mins. walk to the beautiful blue lake tekapo , 3 mins walked to the famous Church of Good Sheperd and 10 mins walk to the city. But, we loved the cottage so much that we prefer to stay at the cottage most of our times :D We can cooked as they have a complete kitchen set. They have big balcony with garden so you can enjoy yourself in outdoor too. Additional canopy at the balcony would be nice specially when it is raining. Clean and comfortable bathroom. But it will be more even perfect if they provide complete toiletries (shampoo, showergel). There was a leaking aircon, but we still can managed it. The check-in process was very easy and smooth. Overall, we would love to highly recommended lilybank cottage to everyone :)
